the good thing about buying a house from family!
Ok today we went and stripped the wallpaper off the basement walls at my moms house so we can prep for painting! That is the "wonder" of buying from family! We are officially buying my mom's house and it should close the 25th of May! I think this will be my best birthday ever! (my birthday is the 25th of May!) I am going to be 30 but we are gonna have our own house! big enough for all of us and all of the crap I feel compelled to buy! There is tons of storage and the cutest white picket fence in the front yard! and enough bedrooms that Liberty can have her own room! She hates having her room messed up by the little girls! And I am so excited to decorate it in stars and stripes with a "liberty" theme! I have been buying cute flag and Americana stuff for her since before we had any kids but I'd had the name picked forever! I am super excited and it is finally become a real thing that we are really buying my moms house! she is very excited about buying a new patio home close to my aunts house and she'll be close, so that will be super fun! we are already talking about a standing dinner appointment every week! Taco's! Love that! So today we went and borrowed my friends steamer to steam the wallpaper off the wall in the basement and it worked awesome! Now for the kitchen and dining room and upstairs bathroom. The house seriously need to be painted before we move in too! I hasn't been painted since my parents bought it when i was 14! so it is high time! Plus all of the years the kids wrote on the walls and made holes is really needing fixed! Whoohoo! but since it is my mom's house we can go do all we want to almost, before we move in . Not like a new build or buying from some stranger! After we start making a new house payment though, we are gonna be poor again! I am not looking forward to that but such is life! It seems like a chronic thing for us! All these kids aren't cheap and we are starting over late in life so we can't just get by with a smaller home we would easier afford, but we do what we gotta do, to get by! Lance wants me to go to real estate school to work part time when the big kids are in school and when he can be home on the weekend. I'm having mixed feelings about it but he sure makes it sound appealing .
talking about extra money to re-do the kitchen sooner, and work clothes! For some reason I am drawn to career wear but don't think it is practical for hanging out with the kids all day! So he has talked me into getting a career for the clothes i can then afford to buy and have a reason to wear! I'll let you know on that when i have really decided! anyway i did not take "before" pictures of the basement but i think i will before we do anything else, just for blog purposes! Yeah so I am totally feeling the thrill of my upcoming new house!

Sounds exciting! I love the before and after of re-doing a house. Can't wait to see...
I am so happy for you guys. I wish you were gonna be closer to us :( but at least we will be around all summer and into some of the school months. Its nice that you get to start before you even close. I am jealous. We are gonna have a crazy week after our house closes getting painting down, window coverings, plus moving.
What a great Birthday present by the way.
You are so blessed! Don't forget the little things - like the house big enough for you, and the fun you will have in it - that makes the big house payment worth it! Love you guys and so excited for my Wal-mart buddy to move back! :)
How exciting! Have you already picked colors and all that fun stuff? You are very lucky you get to that stuff before hand. You need to have a painting party, I will totally come and help!
