The surgeon update!
got back in the room. i I don;t know how long i was in there but nevertheless it took a long time. anyway, the Ok so i went to see the surgeon today! after waiting in the waiting room for over an hour , finally the surgeon came in , he was a quick talker, examined my neck and then told me that he is ordering a chest x-ray, more blood work, and an EKG! delicious! and then he proceeds to go over normal surgery protocols, about nothing to eat or drink after midnight yadda yadda! Then he tells me he does basic thyroid cancer surgery, but mine is extra special and he is referring me to one of 3 Ear nose and throat surgeons! So i now have to get the requested tests done in addition to see a new ENT surgeon. Also on the way to my appointment in North Scottsdale, the Dr.s office (my endo) calls and tells me I have been approved for the PET scan with CT fusion. and gave me the number to call and schedule it, at Good Sam in phoenix. Fabulous! So i call and get on it and they don't have authorization on the paper work, then i call my Dr.s office back and ask her to fax it, then i call the central scheduling back and they transfer my call to the PET center, and she says she needs the paperwork , not central scheduling and gets all snippy with me, Like I didn't do something right, not the DR.s office! anyway she gets the DR.s # from me to call and request the info and gets my # to call me back but she didn't yet , so i have a feeling it will be tomorrow, when i get to schedule that good time! SO there you go, all the scoop on my cancer saga! I just love the jumping though hoops and insurance drama, and tests and appointments! My life would be so easy with out it. but i have learned life isn't easy! Oh but I won't be having the radical neck resection or even a modified neck dissection , i get to have a lymph node dissection. it will be a straight line on the side of my neck, and they'll take out the cancerous lymph node and whatever they can get to. still a scar but not a giant one. Woohoo for that

Hey... good news! I am so happy! No massive scar! Sorry about lame doctors offices and scheduling and phone calls. I know exactly how that feels. I was on hold for 45 mins trying to book a post op. Pathetic. Doctor's office take their patients for granted! They need us to make money, and sometimes they treat us like crap!
Love ya... love having you around! Get your crap better soon!
So glad to hear that things went well. I too hate the whole insurance~doctor thing. I feel so lucky I am just having to deal with routine things...not even the crazy stuff like your cancer. Hoping to see you Friday at lunch! ;)
I hope they can get your scan scheduled soon then maybe you could get all of this done before school gets out and before you move. That would be awesome. I hope they get back to you soon.
Don't you hate all the red tape? OH! And they treat you like you don't know anything and they know everything. I'm sorry that you have to deal with all that garbage. Don't you wish you could send your cell phone bill to the insurance company for them to pay for you to be on hold and all that jive?
