Whoo Hoo! I survived the day! but it's early still!
Ok so we got out the door nice and early today and had to wait a while for Joys teacher to come get her from the car, Preschool starts at 8:45 supposedly but I was the first there and it was well after 8:50 when she came out. enough time to put my make-up on and blush, lipstick and mascara on Joy! Lucky girl.
So I get to my new surgeons office, it was nice, clean, well decorated, and the staff was super nice. and fill out the normal new patient forms, then i go back and wait and the Dr. came in , He was really nice, but acts like the biopsy that I had in December was not definitive enough and wants to order a new one at a better hospital and do yet another ultrasound, and see the results of my up coming PET SCAN (finally I got an appointment for Monday early morning.) So i was going by his relaxed attitude and him saying it is no big deal and the more test stuff that i might not have to have surgery, well yeah he was just being nice because later he told me that yeah, it's almost definite (90% chance)I'll have to have surgery, and it is more like the surgery i had expected ,not what LAST Weeks surgeon told me. SO this one tells me it'll be the shape of a hockey stick along my old incision which he referred to as the railroad tracks on my neck and up the back side of my neck, Nice ! but he does say we can wait until after i move because i may have limited mobility on that arm and shoulder! which i had heard before but was hoping wasn't the case. Not cool! Also he said that even after all these tests we could go in and take out all the lymph nodes on that side and maybe my Jugular vein along with some surrounding fat
( lopsided!) and some blood vessel stuff since follicular cancer can invade those structures. and so i am a tad peeved at the other surgeon from last week making it out to be better when it won't be. I swear all the DR.s need to be real about it and not give falsely reassuring information! I should just go in from now on and demand the truth and not get sugar coated crap, that isn't factual! I can take it! I am pretty well educated on this reality so why feed me some line of bull!?! and really complicate the truth! UGH! and on another note this DR. won't take pictures for me during surgery! Which makes me sad because since I'll be under the whole time I won't get to see my own lymph nodes in or out of my neck and that also means no fabulous picture for my blog! or my own personal surgery scrapbook! I am really upset about it and am thinking , i might go somewhere else just because, he won't take the pictures! even though he seemed very thorough(more tests) , and nice. maybe i need to let the picture issue go. I'll have to think on that one for a bit.
update on the boys appointments, Peyton does have a tiny hole in his ear drum but a graft is not an option and since he hears well and hasn't had any ear infections for a while we are gonna leave it be and watch it. Other wise we have to replace his eardrum and that could reduce his hearing forever. and Pierce does get to join the club and get tubes in his ears! They will call and schedule with me later in the week. and Joy and Hope got a preview of the Dr.s office for tomorrow and are very excited to go again for their turn. Afternoon Delight! Lance might work late now because of babysitting this morning, but today is my once a month thyroid cancer support group , and i actually have something to talk about this month but i probably won't go. Depends on Lance getting home in time for me to make it! Always tricky! ok I'll be back tonight after the kids go to bed! Maybe I'll even make dinner tonight! but don't hold your breath for a recipe or anything! ha!

Well even though that dr wasn't up front in the beginning, he sounds better than the other one. I know it is frustrating but I am sure he doesn't want to go off of old stuff, even though it is not that old to you. Aimee had to have her eardrum removed and now she has no hearing in her ear, hopefully Peyton's ear will heal on it's own. I am glad you are finally getting your scan. Hopefully this will answer all your questions.
Life sucks, and then you die. appointments suck too. oh well. but i am glad you are so upbeat about it!
