My mom is retiring! Just a little tribute!

Here is the write up in her school newsletter:
"Joy Jones has taught school for almost 22 years. After graduating from ASU in 1968, Mrs. Jones taught 4th and 2nd grades at Kyrene Elementary. She then taught for a semester in a two-room school at Portal, Arizona. There she taught children in grades 4 through 8. It was one of her favorite teaching experiences. She then stayed home to raise her seven children until Falcon Hill opened in 1990. At that time she began teaching 2nd grade and has continued here until the present time. During these 18 years at Falcon Hill, six of her seven children grew up to marry and have children of their own. She now has 26 grandchildren and looks forward to retirement and time with all of them. Maybe if she's lucky, she'll have time to devote to all those art projects she has been wanting to do for so long."

My mom is so super talented and really fabulous! She let us live with her for 4.5 years while LANCE was in school. She lets my kids come and spend the night with her (one at a time) . They love her the best and she loves them the best too. I like to consider myself the favorite! It might not even be true, but she lets me believe it. I was really clingy as a kid, attached at the hip you could say. We Love her and miss her tons, and can't wait to be close by again. She is totally helping us get into her house, giving us a gift of equity. and giving me a bed for liberty and her front room couches. I think everyone is thrilled to have her home from school next year. Last October she was in a car accident and broke her neck in three places! I don't know what I would've done if we would have lost her, and I am so g
lad I didn't have to find out! She is pretty much my favorite person to hang out with and I love her more than I can say! So yeah this is a big thing for us! Mom home during the day! and not just for the summer. She doesn't normally babysit any of the grandkids but she already said she'd watch Hope and Pierce if I have DR. appointments next fall. Which is pretty fantastic. My mom's talents include watercolor paintings, florals and Portraits. She's painted pictures of Peyton, Liberty two times, and Paxton and Peyton together. She used to sew all the time, dresses, fabulous doll clothes and she made me tons of cloth dolls. She made porcelain dolls for at least 10 years and still has all the stuff. Her latest hobby is silver solder and beading. She always has great jewelry on. Nobody even compliments her anymore because they just expect her to have it on. But I always notice, mostly because I want it. It was really great when we lived together because I could use all of her jewelry anytime I wanted. My mom has a beautiful singing
voice , tells wonderful stories, taught me to paint and bead and sew. She inspired me and made me want to be a mom, and gave me tons of dolls. She has taught my kids to love science and art and animals and Shirley Temple movies. So yeah MOM! way to go! I love you! The kids Love you !
Congratulations on your retirement!
