interesting posters advertising for thyroid cancer
the website I got these from is the Light of Life foundation.
www.checkyourneck.com
the man one is so gross looking and kinda scary.
I found it interesting more and more young people are getting diagnosed with thyroid cancer. seriously like 3-4 people under 35 a week, are joining the online support group for thyroid cancer patients and while it isn't the most deadly, it is really inconvenient. and treated like it is no big deal, DR.s drag their feet on everything, and the whole process, takes a really long time, not like if you had breast cancer, or Lymphoma, or brain cancer, because it is so slow growing. the exceptions are in men of any age or people over the age of 45 or kids under 18, because those groups are at greater risk for having rapid growth. I found my lump on my thyroid on my own, I'd had a sore throat, was feeling my neck for giant, sore lymph nodes and felt it and looking at it in the mirror there was a visible bump on my neck . MY sister and dad had both had benign nodules, so i had it checked, and finally after having it removed we found out i was the lucky one with the cancer. and well before the standard age, I was 24 almost 25 when i found it, normally it is an old persons disease. CHECK OUT THAT SITE. CHECK YOUR NECK, I'm not saying all the time, but when you get a physical, ask for it. and once in a while when you think of it. and thyroid hormone blood levels are usually normal , even when it is cancer.

thanks for the advice. I never thought of checking my neck, or knew that you should, but I will now.
Very informative post! And I love the new colors...
I can't believe you were that young and that you have been dealing with it for this long. They really do "push this one under the rug". Thanks for the infor. I likey the new color
