top ten things I love about my house
10. the outside lights, and the picket fence. apparently the neighbors refer to them as the "landing lights" because it is so bright you could land an aircraft.
9. the new floors in the downstairs bedrooms, vinyl planking that looks like wood! It is perfect for the occasional flood that the downstairs rooms might experience.
8. our dining room! it was already added on when my parents bought it but Lance added the Air conditioning when we got married. Our house is one of the few in the neighborhood that even has a dining room! everyone else has an eat in kitchen! after having the dining room, there was no way we could get a house with out one.
Plus my computers are in here, for ease of supervision. and for my convenience. (no picture)
but alas it needs redone, old 1980's wallpaper all over! so someday, I'll post a before and after picture.
7. the potential at this house is fabulous. if we had the funds it'd be fabulous now, but we don't, so we wait.
6. My bedroom!(3 pictures) love the bead board and the crown molding! and the white, white, white! and all the light! except in the morning. and the shelves in the bathroom part, it isn't even decorated yet, but i love it! I really need to get settled.
5. the play room, coming soon! right now it is covered in boxes, and my mom's antique furniture, that she needs to have recovered, it waits here until she gets the appointment to take it in.
4. the antique highchair my mom left for us. My parents had two made in Mexico when my older brother was little i think, and all of us sat in it. and all of my kids have too. the older kids only when we came to visit, but Paxton, Joy, Hope and Pierce. This is Hope in it.
3. My antique glassware my mom gave me. she had a big time ebay addiction, for lace edge glass and other cute glass things. I love milk glass the best! Oh and hobnail is another fave. and the Miss America pattern is one my grandma had and so my mom hunted down some of it for each of us. and my milk glass white lamp i got at a garage sale last fall! total find for the low low price of $12.00!
2. my kitchen table, It is a huge square one, it totally needs refinished, another project for another day, but it fits all of us, and we sit down together for all the meals we are home. of course there are always issues about who gets to sit by mom or dad or grandma when comes for dinner. and we have 4 benches around it, so more people can fit. we use it for the laptop desk, and crafts. late night chatting with friends and playing games. The kids hang out under it, I finally found a table cloth for it! which was an amazing feat in itself.
1. these people pretty much make any house my home! I love them all in their own way, and they make it nice and "lived in". it's always busy, usually messy , loud and fun! sometimes we yell (alot) , and the kids fight , but it just wouldn't be home without them. and Lance has fantastic skills and great ideas so someday this house will be redone at least the kitchen and laundry room , new floors, paint etc. until then, we live in it. It's livable, and that is all we really need.
