totally tired!

last night, Joy wanted to play a game, she called it clean the playroom! and it was the "hard version where you don't take breaks" she said. SO we cleaned the play room, vacuumed, and then i cleared out all the boxes that don't belong in there. I boxed up my cabbage patch dolls and discovered I am missing at least 5 of my cabbage patch kids from when i was a kid. I laid it all out, looked at it, considered letting my kids play with it and decided i didn't want to risk it, or have the mess that all of it makes, I had lots of clothes and stuff that went with them, my mom sewed alot!
I had fabulous glass bottles we bought in mexico and i found the small CPK figurines I got for my 6th birthday! and i found some of those clip on charms we had in elementary school, you know? the plastic ones you could clip on the cheap plastic loop bracelets, necklaces, or belts? I had a bottle and a harmonica in with my doll stuff. plus i had all my dolls my mom sewed for me. I had Holly Hobby, strawberry shortcake, my Melanie doll, ( it was my first favorite i can remember, i was 4-ish !) and then a couple other cute fabric ones that i didn't play with much , because that's when the cabbage patch kids craze happened. I had 17 CPK! but could only find 11 last night and account for 2 others that weren't in the boxes. so five must still be in a box somewhere. I asked my hubby if he knew anything about the disappearance. but he denied any knowledge of it. some of the plastic is breaking down in the shoes and they are getting old and sticky but the dolls are hanging in there, with no visible breakdown. all the clothes elastic is dry and not stretchy anymore and the hair rubber bands have given out too. but I still love all of them. I considered taking pictures but didn't wanna find the camera at 2 in the morning for that. BUt i think i figured out why i love babies so much, and want so many, I started young with dolls and that is all I know how to do. my mom told me once she collected dolls because she wanted more kids and didn't have anymore. she only had 7 kids and hundreds of dolls! OK so long way to say the play room is done! YAY! yippee! whoHOo! Yee HAW!
wa hoo! HooRaY! SuPer Fabuloso!

so the play room is usable and safe and i am tired, but the kids are in heaven!

So laughing about the "hard version where you don't take breaks". I LOVE having a room devoted to play that all the toys can go in. Way to keep all your favorite toys from when you were little. I wish I had kept more of mine, and my Mom's 1950-60's dresses that she used to let me play dress up in.

I'm pretty amazed that you kept all your dolls from when you were a kid. And I like your theory for wanting to have so many kids. I believe it! Glad that you got a few things organized, you're lucky you have kids that will help.

I loved my cabbage patch kid growing up! I miss her--don't have a clue where she went. What fun cleaning and organizing--that is exactly what I should be doing right now! :)

Holy crap, the plastic bracelet with the charm thingy's???? OMG, I totally forgot about them until you mentioned. Wow, that was a flashback. Made me want to go back to being a kid once again. And for some reason, my CPK's heads always popped off. Ever have that problem? Hmmm, maybe that was a clue as to what kind of mom I'd be?????
