VAN issues. JOB news!
today the van wouldn't start at all for me. I was late as it was for movie fun, and then tried to start the van and luck wasn't on my side. it has been harder and harder to start lately. It is a 2000 Chevy Express 15 passenger van. since we are currently unemployed the money hasn't been available to take it in and get it checked, Lance changed all the stuff he could easily, and seriously it has been a month since it started having problems. but i really don't go anywhere lately and this is one of the big reasons why. and once it starts for the day it starts ok later. but if it sits for more than a couple hours it won't start. anyway, after today's drama, or i should say trying to start it for more than 15 minutes with no luck, i gave up and called him crying. Tonight he finally looked into it further, and got the stuff to check the fuel pressure, we assumed it was either the fuel pump which has to have an empty to tank to change (AND I JUST FILLED UP) , or a fuel line leak. it didn't hold pressure. so he finally figured out it is a leak in the carburetor. LAME . so we are attempting to get by with out rebuilding it yet. because he tells me it is expensive. and we of course, are low budget until he gets and starts a new job. I thought all along it was the carburetor. i took auto shop in H.S. one of the few classes i got an 'A' in.
on the job front, the contracting company finally approved him, so we will really hear monday on that, and a recruiting company liked his resume, did the paperwork and background check and has a company they think is a good match. they work for the company finding new people to work for them. so Monday we hear who it could be. and then another company that he interviewed with yesterday also is calling Monday. seriously all this is finally falling into place. starting with the contracting company would happen faster, but I of course lean toward a regular company with benefits. while the pay is less so are the headaches. he is concerned about the faster pay off ,not the long run and hourly pay instead of salary. I look at the security, and benefits and hope for that. I hate this. while the potential to make more money by working long hours sounds nice, i still worry about insurance benefits, and regular steady pay. and paid vacation. because if Lance is missing work and not getting paid, he won't take time off for anything. including but not limited to: births, miscarriages or cancer surgery. I should clarify, he'll take the day of off but not time off to help while I recover. thinking family should pick up the slack, leaving me feeling helpless and abandoned. but if we have paid vacation and sick leave, he totally will take two weeks off when i have a baby or need help after surgery. Hmmm, yeah totally obvious what i want. and why.

Good luck with the van - there is nothing worse than feeling stranded!!! I hope things work out with the job - and Lance gets something that is right for you both.
I took lots of science as electives - biology, chem, physiology, loved it, psychology, French, Band and some homemaking classes. But since I didn't join the church until I was 20 I missed out on having to go to 6:30am seminary!
And to catch up - I LOVED LOVED LOVED Harry Potter! I started to read it for the 2nd time! Have a great day!
I hope you get the van fixed. I know how much car issues SUCK! And I am with you, I would take steady pay over possible more with no benefits, extras, any day. That is why I loved Jeff's new job way better than before. It really stunk for us being "self-employeed". Seriously he took off each day that they boys were born and that was all he could. SUCKS.
Ok, obviously seminary, jewlery (all 3 years baby, loved it!), Spanish~ can't remember a darn thing except Mrs Clarkson trying to constantly set me up with one of her sons!, Newspaper, Auto Shop (HATED THAT~ Had to get Roger S. to pretty much do my stuff for me) and I can't remember what else.
Oh and I Really and diggin the pink!
I HATE car problems! Hope you get it fixed without a lot of headache/expense. I loved that you knew what was wrong with it. And hope the job thing works out to what is best. Being able to have paid time off and benefits is what I would want, too. And long time security.
Jewelry? We didn't have that in UT. No fair! I took seminary, french, ballet, dance co., calligraphy, interior design, parenting, a sewing class, and architectural drafting. Wow. I'm surprised I could think back that far and remember all that.
Car trouble is one thing that I hate more than any other!! A girl should be able to get in turn the key and go. Is that to much to ask?. Sorry, what a bummer.
I do not remember any paricular electives. I wanted to be at school as little as possible in Hs so I joined HERO w/ my best friend. (Home economics related ocupations) It made it so I got out of school at noon every day. I did not care if it made me a geek. No school was more inviting to me. Seminary was another I remember.
Hope you get the job you want and the car going again soon!!!!!!!
The Van stuff no good, I hate dealing with car issues.
I am so excited about the job OPTIONS. At least he has some to choose from and not just one crappy offer. Good luck on Monday
PS: So excited for next week.
Car trouble is the worst!
I never heard of a jewelry elective?? That sounds like a fun class. Mine weren't so fun- spanish, choir, computers, etc
