ONEHM's challenge

ok i am officially feeling sad i can't participate in Onehm's challenge, my house is so not great, not decorated, or even clean. so no pictures will be posted of my humble abode. but all of these other people with the fabulous , decorated to the hilt , clean homes , make me so jealous, and if course inspired to get my act together!

I considered posting pictures of my real house but i am afraid CPS might be called for lack of care or something like that. and i am avoiding the posting of proof at this point.

it has however made me feel compelled to clean my room, and think about decorating it. which until now i was glad i had a bed to sleep in and that was all i was concerned about.

Lance will not probably be very thrilled when we start getting paid when i want to get more stuff for the house like a decorator on speed! since decorating is not a low budget endeavor for me. and i have that issue with thinking" if i am going to do it i have to start by spending money" just to get started. and then i of course stop at the shopping and never get back to it.

Yeah, we bought a new house last October and I don't have a knack for detail. I have pictures still leaning against the wall cause I don't know where to put them. It's closing in on a year that we bought this house. I should get to it...

I remember when my kiddos where just a few years younger it was about impossible to keep my house clean. There where days I would just throw my hands in the air, and want to give up. Heck, there are still days I want to do that! :)

Oh man, I used to have the cleanest & most organized house around... Fast forward a few years and a couple of kids. It is so HARD to keep it clean!! And I just can't get motivated to keep it organized now either. I do the best I can, but I can't imagine how much harder it would be with lots more kids. Besides... your family & kids are what's most important, right?

i'm not sure what this challenge is, but i would never ever take "honest" pics of my house and post on my blog, of course, only when i had just scrubbed and cleaned it for the past week would i really post pics of it!

really tho- i love love love flylady! have you heard?! flylady.net...she breaks the house down into small doable tasks and you feel like you are never cleaning, but your house stays "decent and livable" all the time. i love it! i now do 1 load of laundry everday and try to keep at least my kitchen sink clean and it makes a huge difference!! i swear by her and her system: best part of all- she's free and she sends daily email reminders on what your "task" for the day is!!! i don't know what i'd do without her!!

i also loved your post on laundry. i love doing laundry! and i am definite trying out that wrinkle spray, becuz i loathe ironing!!!! my poor hubbie has to iron his own clothes most of the time, which really makes me feel bad most of the time!!

You are CRAZY for thinking that there is nothing blog worthy about your house (you too Kylie!)...
Just take photos of some of the favorites. Like the high chair that "came with the house" and means so much to you. We don't have to see whole rooms. And you did say that you decorated Liberty's room. We haven't seen that yet.
If you still don't want to post pics, I understand. And I'm glad that you are enjoying it. I love it too.

We just moved into our house and we don't have kids so decorating and keeping things clean is super easy. I will say that my husband is way over the decorating part. I think I got 80% of the stuff at Walmart, not even Target, and he still thinks I spent a small fortune. If he only knew that I'm only finished with Phase I (filling up space) and Phase II is the expensive part ;)

Ok, about the houses being clean. You know that our houses don't look like that all the time. Most of the pictures from my house I took before bunko or a party at my house. Pretty much the only time it really looks like that!
I have had that decorating stuff in the back of my van since we went to dinner. I need to just drop it off one of these days!
