i seriously want to send that image to flylady!! it completely defines "hot spot"! :) and won't it be so nice to get it all cleared out, put away, and then discover in a few weeks where your "replacement hot spot" is for all of this stuff! yeah...hot spots just hop around from place to place here in the miller home!
Oh I have some of those piles all over my house. I seem to clean one up only to make another crap pile. Hey, at least our children are fed, clothed and alive--Oh and LOVED! LOL That is what is important right??
Julie!!!! Hey was a surprize!!! I am glad we can be blogging friends - and catch up on each other's lives. You are a serious blogger - I just started. I need to email you and ask how to get some of your widgits - your life seems crazy but super fun - where are you living now?

I have such a hot spot on my kitchen counter as well. Today it's cleared off because I HAD TO for the cinnamon raisin bread pictures. But it can get to towering inferno status in no time. Good luck!
Looks like you will be busy for a while... :) Oh everyone has somewhere in their house that is known as the JUNK spot! At my house it tends to be drawers with extra's that once Jace finds it..everything she owns gets shoved in there. DOn't worry I DO make her clean it out..
Fun saturday!!
I love! That's how I feel about my room! Seriously...everything ends up in here! Or Powell's room...our hotspots just have doors, so that I can shut and lock them when people come over! Ü I totally agree with your last couple posts! I thought the other day--I will never get ontop of everything and that itself is kind of an overwhelming feeling. And so I just try to make dents in it here and there! One year for Mother's Day I asked David to get a maid for the day--best present ever!! They came and spent the whole day and totally cleaned every corner of my house (even took each ceiling fan blade off and cleaned it!) Of course I had to "pre clean" before they got there, but it was so nice to have the house totally clean...for a day (it didn't last too long).
ps. thanks for the rockin blogger award...so unexpected! Made my day ;)
I completely have a hot spot! (it used to be my kitchen counter and I got tired of that, so I switched it) So now it's in my laundry room. Anywhere things can land in my laundry room. Don't feel badly. EVERYONE has them.
I have two hot spots in my kitchen, one on the dining table, the top of the dryer, and the entire top of my dresser....but half of that is my hubby's.....it's too depressing to try and clean them off....besides cleaning one off usually just involves making another one bigger!! Good luck!
i get those all the time too. goood luck. i usually procrastinate too. i tend to get tons more done under pressure but that stress sux too. i'm tryimg to do better lately. at least work on it a little every couple days to keep my counters clearer. not perfect but better.
Our hot spot is our kitchen table.. Yeah, we never eat on it, it just collects all kinds of junk.. Any time I attempt to clean it off, it is heaping days later!! Good luck with the task ahead of you, maybe I will attempt mine.. LOL
I can totally relate. Mine is cleaned off for the moment, mainly because my dh & son were gone all day...
Right now, the counter in my laundry room is the hot spot, shove everything in there and close the door....
LOL, My laundry room and bedroom are my two hot spots. I love that to even do laundry I have to haul all the crap off the washing machine and put it on the table, not go through it and organize mind you, and then back when I am done. Or if I am in a huge hurry it all gets thrown onto my bed to deal with later.
everything goes on the floor in my bedroom.
Ah the dreaded hot spots! I have a few-one is my closet, another the top of the dryer & the biggest one our mud room! I love when it gets cleaned off & you find crap you have been missing LOL!
Oh, I almost forgot I found a little sheep outfit at Savers tonight & bought for you. If you already found one no biggie!
Hi Julie - who doesn't have at least one counter like this in their home??? If they don't, well then, they aren't normal.
I found your blog from my sister-in-laws blog. She said that we would be instant friends :) Her name is Lizzy Rigby... totally cool chic!!! Anyway... thanks for keeping your blog so real... it's so refreshing and inspiring. I think I'll try to update mine more frequently. :)
Love the hot spot. Mine is our bedroom-sad huh? Maybe cause i know no one will go in there :) You'll love Michelle!
My office is the hot spot. Sad but true. I need to re-do that room in a bad way!
Let's see....closet in den, and the spare bedroom/sewing/treadmill room. You can see them when you're here for bunko because they'll probably still be hot spots.
Hey, that doesn't look bad! I can still see a wee bit of flat surface - just enough space for a half-full warm can of Coke!
Yup, right there on the edge.
My hot spot is my dining table - thanks to the dumbass who designed this house and put the dining room right by the front door.
Walk in a drop it!
Love your blog!
yay!!! I'm glad taht i'm not the only one with 'catch all piles'. I just cleaned off the changing table, because I haven't been able to change my baby on it for about 2 months. I swear he'll be potty trained before he uses it 10 times.
