so you need to know what a webkin is?

a webkin is a small stuffed animal with a tag that has a secret code. that you go to webkins .com and play online with it , and it is a virtual world they can create- you automatically get a room, and some money, then you can buy things to decorate the rooms, and things to play with or cook with.
you have to feed it and make sure it is healthy. you can dress it. and buy toys or books for your webkin. and you earn more money by playing games in the arcade. the more money you earn the more you can buy. and the more webkins you have the bigger your house gets. plus you can send e-cards to other people with webkins or send presents. plus they get a cute stuffed animal. the run between 11 and 14 bucks on average but my niece has a St. Bernard dog, and it sells on ebay for $50. some are rare and go for more money on Ebay. they can be found at most Hallmarks. and other gift shops. there is a store locator on the webkins .com link. now they are having webkins clothes, and charms other things to buy. big trend for kids. and i resisted for the sole reason that i have so many kids i'd never get computer time. and they'd fight tons. well they have and they do and i haven't gotten tons of blog time in but they are pretty thrilled anyway. so i can't complain. fun trend. so jump on the bandwagon, plus like my friend pointed out just one more thing/privilege to take away when they get in trouble.

Ok you just made my life easier as I need to check out these, and was wondering where to find them, for a Christmas present.

It is nice having something they love and will do anything to have and not loose (or get back). It is the best barganing chip there is!

I have seen these at our neighborhood grocery store....I thought they were just another stuffed animal....not a computer game device! Silly me! Hmm....maybe I'll have to check it out. Are the games easy enough for a 4 year old?

This is what my daughter has been asking for, but your explanation makes so much more sense.

julie - know what webkins are but so glad i don't have to buy yet as my kids don't! there is just too too much stuff to clean and put away!!! (although a good way to dicipline i agree) but writing to say your kids are so cute in their costco dresses!!!) also your oldest looks so much like you - she is exactly you its crazy. do you think that or is it only because i am 'meeting' your kids through your blog that i think that.

my son ian played with Webkinz for few weeks. Then he moved on to star wars.
Not his kind of toy.
