what was i thinking?
I broke down and we busted out the glitter glue galaxy!
and ....
it wasn't that bad we have a cousin here for a spend the night, (we traded our big boys for ONE girl with my fave brother Aaron, for the night.) so it seemed like a decent use of time, and i was hoping to use up all the glitter glue. we spread out newspaper and they went to town. i did too, since Hope wanted to participate. and it was fine with the exception that Pierce kept putting his hand into the finished art, and kept smearing it. sticky glitter mess. and Hope ruined my art i made for her. smearing it too. Mckenna was the most productive drawing 5 pages of art. i was going to take pictures but i can't seem to find my camera i thought it was in my purse but i didn't find it. hmm.
so yeah i didn't return my least favorite gift our family received this year, BECAUSE they had ruined the box, and i wasn't sure they'd take it back with parts of the box totally ripped. so we used it. now that we have, i feel fine hiding it and not letting them use it again for a long time. and we'll for sure wait until nap time to use it again and avoid the baby with sticky hands.
and i think Joy was thinking i am the nicest mom ever. for letting her keep it.
I score a gold star for that!

Hooray for the nice mom!! :)
I'm all for letting them use it once, and then "losing" it. Out of sight out of mind works very well. You're such a nice mom to let them break it out.
hahaha! Glitter glue. I somehow managed to avoid that and my kids were/are obsessed with paints. Finger, tempera etc. I made a place in the garage for them :)
Wow-that was nice! I tackled the Moon Sand today. I have to say that it is much easier to clean up than Playdough-and they were just as entertained. Woo Hoo!
You DO earn a gold star!
I am so very impressed...and it's always nice to know that there are moms out there like me who would rather not have that kind of toy.
You are awesome all around!!
See you tonight!!
Wow, I'm glad I'm not the only one who "accidentally" loses obnoxious toys!
So glad for your gold star. I'm with you on the messy art stuff. Oce in a while and if friends are over then the friend thinks you're the coolest Mom ever!
Brave, brave mom! My kids got moon sand, and I am convinced that crap is of the devil. I threw it away as soon as I saw bits on my carpet. Now, I am finding moon sand in every single crevice of my home and I am sick to death of it. Glitter glue sounds like fun, one time.
