fabulous lunch today!
These sisters were a couple of my favorite friends .
all through Jr. High and high school we hung out. i was always hanging out at their house borrowing clothes and calling boys. going to dances and just hanging out.
we had our moments like any teenage girls.
but i still think of Ali as one of my best friends ever.
and
Jessica was my brother Aaron's best friend in Jr. high and my brother Bruce's girlfriend before his mission. and one of my favorite people ever. she had great taste and her own sense of style .
We even sang at Bruce's farewell together. Ali and Jessica and Maria and I
sang "in the hollow of my hand" yeah is was fabulous(mediocre at best!) and of course we cried.
anyway i don't see Ali or Jessica much, not that we don't want to get together, but Ali keeps busy with her 7 kids. and i am lame and don't pursue it enough.
I'm not the best about initiating hanging out. and she is kind of a homebody. so whenever we chat it is always great just like old times. and we say we are gonna get together but never manage to make it happen.
Jessica is so fun and has a cute little girl just the same age as Hope!
i was bummed they couldn't play together today.
Their mom is fabulous and so nice. ( she is my visiting teacher) and arranged a lunch with the 3 of us, today. Their kids were there and i was gonna bring my 2 kids i have during the day. but Hope had a fever and Pierce has a snotty nose
so my mom kept them for me so i could go have lunch,
and not contaminate Ali's new baby. who is too dang cute.
it was so fun to see them and their cute kids.
and chat for a couple hours.
we talked about blogging. who has one that they know and that i think they should of course visit mine , and comment. and they need one too so i can go see what is up in their lives ! AND we talked a little about Politics. and about kids. and people we see or don't see. and about the dumb things we did as teenagers. like packing into cars, sitting on laps , Aaron letting us drive at the church parking lot, and teaching us how to drive a stick shift.
the food was yummy potato soup and chicken croissants.
and at the end she sent the rest home with me. and a bunch of cookies too. the kids are in heaven. and I'm thinking i have my FHE treats all ready. FABULOUS!
Thanks for the fun time Girls it was so fun to see you.

Fun! I love getting together with old friends. It's harder for me because I live out of state. You're lucky!
Boy, did this post make me miss my girlfriends! I have some newer ones since moving here two years ago, but there's nothing like the girlfriends that have known you forever. Sounds like so much fun!
Sounds like a blast... :)
I am soooooooo jealous. Jessica, Ali, & Betty are some of my most favorite people in the world. Before we lived on Harvest we lived across the street from the Stewarts. We hung lawn chairs from our trees with ropes and swung on them. Those were some fun days. If they ever start a blog let me know!
What fun! Glad you had a good time!
Sounds like a great girls lunch - so fun to have such long friends (we're not old!) nice to get to go home with the extras too!
FHE - something we need to work on doing, I guess I need to work on having my family home first!!
I LOVE Ali!!!! She was in my ward lots of years ago but was one of my favorite people. I wish I could see her more. She has got some major talent in many different areas. You are one lucky duck to get to hang out with her. And I agree, help them start a blog so I can still KIT with her!!!
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!! How fun for you to get to hang out with some of your fave gals.
You are all about the lunches! I'm patiently waiting for my turn. :)
Gosh! I'm totally envious of all your "girls night out's" and lunch dates! Totally fun! I'm the same way as you as far as not initiating hanging out. Mostly because I rarely have a car during the day to do anything. Also, it's very rare for me to plan anything in advance. I do everything spontaneously.
alison looks so good. i can't remember the last time i saw her. wow! 7 kids!! that is amazing.
there is nothing like visiting with friends you have known forever. i did that yesterday too. people who know what your were like when you were younger and STILL love you! :)
WoW!! Tons af girl time for you. That is great and I love catching up with old friends
Looks like you guys had fun! And I agree with Linz, Ali looks great, I don't think I have seen her since high school. Fun for you to go out though!!
What fun! I still can't believe that she has 7 kids. How are you two our age???
You three all look great! And yay for your mom watching the kids. Aren't we lucky to have such kind moms?
ali is a wonderwoman - she looks the same, gorgeous! tell her to come over and say hi on my blog someday
So fun! Girlie friends are the BEST!
