a Prophet passes away.

President Gordon B. Hinckley passed away tonight. He was the leader and prophet of our church.
an article here

  • President Hinckley has been the Prophet since I was 18. so basically my whole adult life. so far.
  • I love his quotes on motherhood and the family. love this talk
  • I love the easy reminders he gave about life in general."Life is to be enjoyed not just endured"
  • I loved his humor. and the stories he told.
  • I love that he was on Larry King and did a great job. he was so cute.
  • I love the devotion he had for his wife. (I'm sure he is happy to be with her again.)

Each time I come across another blog/tribute to President Hinckley, I'm made more aware of how big a spot he held in my heart.

I agree with Sheri. The kids just woke up and I have to tell them. It is like we are saying goodbye to a family friend. :-(

We can't really mourn his loss, simply because he will truly be 'with' us forever - in spirit and spoken word. He was a powerful man and a great influence on many! We will all miss him!

Almost every blog I have visited has a tribute to this man. This is the first I have heard of him. And because I AM UBER ignorant, I am going to ask...is he akin to the pope, only Mormon?? Sorry if you think I am an idiot now...But hey, I did just realize that 99.9% of my blog friends are Mormons!

It was certainly a sad evening for our family, but I'm so thankful for all the time he was with us.

A truley great man, prophet of God! He had been the prophet for all but 10 months of my married life, so I know how ya feel about the whole adult life {well mostly}. It will be exciting to see who the Lord qualifies next!

It is an awesome experience that we are having. We dont have to meet him in person yet we can feel a spiritual connection that is far beyond explanation. I loved Him and will miss him. What a comfort we have to know that he is with his wife and the Savior!

I love that talk that he gave as well. I just spoke in church yesterday and quoted him. I'm so grateful for the time that he was allotted on this earth and all the marvelous things that he accomplished! :)

I was in awe when I heard the news. Cried for a min then decided this is so not a sad moment it is a happy one. I loved him so much and never even had the chance to meet him.

What a sad night for us here on Earth....but how wonderful for him! I am so thankful to have been alive during this great prophets reign and will greatly miss him.

I tried to blog about him but I couldn't. I am such a baby. I knew I'd be a basket case when he died and I was right.

This was a great tribute. I'm glad that so many of you were able to put into words what I can't seem to.
