being a single mom sucks.

whoohoo! I've survived. they were late today. and i have slacked all morning. but otherwise good day. Lance will be home tonight.whoohoo from San Jose, CA. he started out in San Fransisco . yay for my hubby coming home. i did pretty well but almost lost it yesterday after school. they all came in fighting and hitting and they lost computer privileges in the first ten minutes in the door. and like an idiot i started picking them up from school everyday instead of letting them walk home. they kind of got in a fight with a jr. high kid. on Monday and lost their walking home privileges. so more work for me. and with lance gone i have been driving them int eh morning. so i loaded Pierce and Hope into and out of the car like 10 times yesterday.
I'll list it.

-into the car to drop off kids,
-out of the car at home
-into the car to go to lunch
-out of the car at barros
-into the car after barros
-pick up and load kids after school
-out of the car at home
-into the car for singing group
-unload joy and libby
-and out of the car at Michaels
-into the car after Micheals the store.
-pick up joy and Libby after singing group
-out of the car at home.

i fed the kids cereal for dinner. i am rad.

so by the end of the day i was little fried and while chatting with lance on google, i realized it . but i didn't cry. i wanted to but didn't . so yay for me.
and i missed pedicure night at girls night out and they stayed out until 4:30 am ! i am so bummed i missed it. my mom would have watched the hoodlums but i would ahve had to go home at a decent hour and miss all the really fun part (until 4:30) . so i decided to forgo the conflict. i'm still bummed

how do single moms do it?
this sucks!
if your hubby travels for work you are a freaking saint as far as i can see it.
i can't handle a week every once in a blue moon !
how you do it all the time is beyond me.
you all deserve a gold star from me!

I hate it when my husband is gone. Before we moved to Arizona, he moved here 5 weeks before I did so I could get the house sold and everything. It sucked! We had a lot of cereal for dinner too:) Have a fun reunion tonight!;)

I had to do it this last summer while my husband was doing clinicals for school... He was gone 8 days home for 2 or 3 and then gone again!!! My house actually stayed cleaner those weeks though! I don't get why? :)

I was a single mom for 2 years with 2 little guys and it was hard....but I think a week with 6 would be harder! Mine were little, so we just hung out alot....and cereal was number one at that time in their lives anyway! :) Micah travels quite a bit and I HATE it when he is gone....luckily that hasn't happened for a while...but he may have to go to Indonesia for a little bit....none too excited for that. Great job surviving the week!!!!

Why do you think I only have two kids? ; )

It used to be much harder when he would be gone for a week or two at a time, and when I was working. Now that he's only gone for 2 or 3 days, it's not so bad...in fact it can actually be good! Makes him miss me a little.

You did it! Good job! I have had weeks when Steve wasn't home. I about lost it...totally! I think the biggest part was not being together as a family. I missed him! I am glad your hubby will be home tonight!

Wow, what a day. I too hate when my husband is away, it is difficult. I really do not know how single mothers do it either.
I stopped by through Melissa's blog. Nice to meet you.

You are freakin' rad! And you make me so laugh! My husband worked out of town the first few weeks after Jonas was born and I thought I was going to die. And I totally did the cold cereal for dinner several times. You are to funny!

I agree that you are rad! Having husbands out of town makes life tough! I hate loading and unloading my twins from the car so much, and the car seats are just terrible! I grew up in San Jose, California by the way!

Loading and unloading always the highlight of my day! Being single would certainly throw me over the edge. I would be going through a little B Spears action! Glad Lance is home too. Sorry you missed that pedicure night..THAT STINKS!!!!

I don't know how single moms do it either! My husband isn't a huge help, but he does help. And just having him around to talk to helps me keep my sanity! lol!

I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU!!! MIchael is traveling 1-2 weeks a month now and I barely get any notice. IT TOTALLY BITES! I hate it. ESP when they are sick (like 2 weeks ago and everyone was throwing up). Our grocery budget does shrink (as well as my waist line - which is a good thing) when he is gone, because i feed them cereal and soup and sandwiches and I don't eat.

I say even if you cried it's a wonderful feeling to have survived and be done! I hate it when Chris goes out of town! I've learned though to get a sitter at least one night so I can find some sanity.

I want that can organizer. How many does one hold?
