you are stonger than you think.

so i did rad today.
i did two loads of dishes. and i cooked dinner! yes! ME i cooked chicken which i don't do, i don't even like to see it. i don't touch it , and if i have to buy it i have to put it in the plastic bag they put conveniently by it. AND if you shop with me? i make you put yours in a bag. it's a rule. and i am a freak about chicken. or any raw meat. i purchased it the other night for lance to cook before he left so i could get through the last couple days of the diet.and he ran out of time, and forgot. SO i was brave today, i cut it open, dumped it into the crock pot, and the freaking meat juice maxi pad fell in, and it was between chicken breasts, i tried to remove it with a fork but no deal so I DUG IT OUT WITH MY FINGERS. and threw it away, and i didn't even vomit. aren't you proud! i told Lance and while he was sufficiently proud, he also acted like i'm a mega dork for thinking it's a big deal that all normal housewives do that crap. and well i thought kiss my A$$, you know it is a big deal, because i make you do it normally. ANY way. then i added 2 cans of diced green chilies and diced 1/2 an onion, 3 cloves of garlic, and 4 tomatoes and squeezed 2 limes into it. and added my non iodized salt . yes it would have been easier to just add a jar of salsa or something but they aren't diet compatible so i improvised. and i let it cook all day on high. until it shredded with a fork. the kids were excited i cooked, and they thought it was the best dinner ever. we had it with fried corn tortillas for soft tacos, with lettuce and pico de gallo. heavenly. the kids had sour cream too. and i didn't even bother to get out cheese,(it was in the freezer) i don't eat sour cream or cheese anyway. so it was fabulous! Paxton said over and over i ROCKED and I was the best cook ever! Peyton that is was really good too. Liberty had cucumbers, and joy had hers without chicken(she says she only eats chicken in nugget form) and hope loved it too. Pierce had sour cream by the spoonful and with chips.

so yeah good day. i did 2 things i don't normally do at all and really hate to do. but i stepped up , and kicked butt! yeah i rock today.

i have one day left, only 1/2 really, and i am pretty thrilled i stuck to the diet. never cheated once, and in the end didn't mind it. sure i whined but i did it. and that is RAD too. AND i read on the support group that i could stop the diet 24 hours after the radiation pill, but i decided I'd have more peace of mind if i just stuck with it. although my chocolate is calling my name. AND we have girl scout cookies in the cupboard waiting for me. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH just 12 hours 'til the scan.
i think i'll take some chocolate in my purse. and some cookies in the car. and i'm for sure stopping at sonic on the way home for my Dr. pepper!

Ok and some of you guessed at my addictions so here you go. i'm addicted to dr. pepper, shopping, sex, blogging, guitar hero, webkinz, Girls night out/bunko , eating what i want*. convenience, reading and sleep. that covers it i think.

*and eating what i want encompasses anything. like dessert first, Chinese food when craving it, chocolate, girl scout cookies, seasonal fruit, cucumbers with lime and chili powder and salt, Pizza. spaghetti. yeah anything i crave. i like it that way.

oh and overheard today? while putting Pierce in the car seat, Hope was pitching a fit wanting to ride in it. Joy said your a big girl now, and Hope's reply ,"no i'm a little gril! i have little boobs! see?"

and while i was taking the girls to singing today. the boys didn't want to come. the big boys, so i said fine stay here it will only be 45 minutes, when i got home Peyton said Paxton crashed on his bike while i was gone. freaking moron, went out on his bike while i was gone and crashed. what a ding dong, i made sure he was fine(he skinned his shoulder and his cheek) then I yelled at him for going outside while i was gone. that is the rule you stay home, you stay inside. then i yelled at Peyton for not keeping him in the house. i swear. NO ONE is staying home alone anymore. they have to go for the quickest of rides, and the lamest of errands from now on. UGH! freaking swifty! and yeah I'm no mother of the year. get over it. but i cooked dinner today whoohoo!

and yes this is a big thing. and i totally don't normally do the cooking, or at least not the cooking of meat. qah it's bed time i'm actually tired. shocking. well no time in the morning to blog. BUT I'll be sure to post what happens at the scan. my appointment is at 10 am. whoohoo!

and guess what! spell check works again! whoohoo! rad!

Okay, I laughed out loud when you called it a maxi pad! I get grossed out by raw meat also. Probably not as bad as you though. Good job with cooking dinner.

Rad accomplishments! You really truly rock! I've been tempted here and there to just let my almost 9 yo stay home for quick errands. So far that hasn't happened, but atleast she will stay in the car for things like running into a restaurant to pick up food. Quick stuff that she doesn't like to be bothered about. And the less kids I have to pack in with me, the better! I'm sure you totally understand how that goes!

Goodluck with the appointment!

i'm so proud of you for sucking it up with the chicken. some people are freaked out by spiders and snakes and some by raw meat. you did good!! :)

You rock!

Girl scout cookies? Why don't I have any? Why isn't any little girl scout knocking on my door?

My husband is the same way with raw chicken. He gags and makes a scene about it. Then, if I cook it, I have to cut out all the "veins" or he will NOT eat it.

My big boy is 12 and he gets to stay home alone sometimes for an hour at a time or so. The rule is: No answering the door, no answering the phone (unless it's me or dad). He does pretty well. I haven't told him no going outside-I guess I should!

That chicken sounds so good. Can you believe I don't own a crock pot? I think I am breaking some Mormon rule on that one. I also hate raw meat. My hubby thinks I'm a weirdo. Good luck on your scan! Yea Dr. Pepper!

Joe has to cut the chicken in our house, too. It just totally skeeves me out.

You did great, you got all kinds of things accomplished. Good luck with your test today!

You had me busting a gut at the chicken maxi pad comment! So true. What in the crap are they for anyway, they certainly dont soak the chicken juice!!!!! Nasty. I hate raw or uncooked meat also. I pretty much cook meat until there is NO juice left in it at all. Chris sometimes says they can be used for door stops-whatever.

Pretty much we are addicted to the same things except for the Dr Pepper- I am sorry, but that is the sickest stuff ever made. Just wrong on all levels! :)

Good luck on your scan.

Thanks for the tips on tonsilectomies!!! I think I'll just ask them to give him some Zofran and avoid the barf all together! (hopefully!)
Someone in UT is thinking good thoughts for you!!!

♥ Love your name for those nasty little maxi pads... I hate those. And seriously you're not the only one who hates touching meat! I only do it because I have too. But if Joe is home he gets to do it. :)

So glad to hear that your diet is almost over. I hope the scan goes well!

Good job cooking a "fancy" dinner for the fam (and while Lance is gone). Your kids are sweet! Don't you love when they give you FAB compliments like "this is the best food ever!" and "you're the BESTEST Mom!" ?? I know I feel good and I must've done something right to hear stuff like that once in a while. Now go enjoy your weekend!!

Meat juice maxi pad??? I'm dying over that one. I've never thought of it as a meat juice maxi pad, but that's exactly what it looks like. I love reading your blog. I learn something new and useful every day!!! And I love the "i have little boobs" comment from your daughter, too. So funny!

Hi! Good sounding dinner. I'm a meat freak too ... can't touch it, look at it, etc. Congrats on your good results too ... I would be so stressed out. Also glad you treated yourself at Sonic! I think I want a hot fudge sundae after reading about your goodies!!

That sounds de-lish! Super easy and very tasty (the finished product, not your description of the process so much).
