3rd grade annual egg/nest drop!

we went to the school as a family on Thursday. the 4 big kids ran to class. and we checked in at the office. and waited for the FUN TO BEGIN...

Friday may 9th 2008 was the annual egg/nest drop at school. Peyton got to do it this year.
i did this at this school 20 years ago? has it been that long? yeah it has been. holy crap. anyway.
it was fun to go watch. and to see other moms that i went to school with that did the nest drop at the same time as me.

Peyton's nest consisted of a Sonic cup, the base of it cut off(i had it laying around) i lined it with cotton rounds, then made a base out of more cotton rounds, i taped it together with duct tape, then we added a bottom layer of bubble wrap, we shoved the whole thing into the toe of a tight, then the egg, went into another toe of a tight cut off, and that went into a bubble wrap pocket. the bubble wrap pocket fit into the cup nest, and then we added bubble wrap, on top and tied the tight closed. it looked like a Pear. i helped him make it the night before. since we plan ahead so well. i did most of it since his arm hurt. we had no clue how badly though. FAKER.

Peyton's teacher did the dropping of the Nests

here goes Peyton's
opening it up to get the egg out. and IT SURVIVED!
here is Peyton excited I was still there.
Paxton stopped by after speech. so i took his picture before he had to go back to class.

here are some bonus blogger kids.
some kids are darn speedy, my camera couldn't get anything good .

Jakey's egg survived!
Felicia's egg survived , and way fun chatting with her mom.
sweet G's egg Survived

poor Christian's didn't survive.

Pierce and I stayed until the end.

and best part is? i get to do this every year for the next 3 years, and 2 times after that. WHOOHOO. i can't wait to see what we come up with next. and maybe we'll actually do it ahead of time instead of waiting until the night before.

That looks like fun. So glad I am not the only one that does it all the night before. Why do it any sooner? Huh? Really where is the fun in that? Your pictures look great and so nice of you to take extras for others. I love when people do that.

Also went to the same school my kids go to now. Do they get sick of hearing "I went to school with _____'s mom?" Mine do. LOL

I thought Christian would be so excited to see his pictures up on your blog so when he got home I was so excited to show him.....He was upset...only because his egg was only a handful of eggs that didn't actually survive!

He actually climbed up a tree in our backyard and dropped the egg to see if it would survive. Some did, others didn't.

Oh well!
