Friday fill in / saturday smackdown. oh i mean rundown

so we ended up still going out. but only for a little bit. we got home by 9:30. i was aiming for earlier but we saw a 7:15 showing of BABY MAMA. it was ok. i didn't hate it. i thought it was pretty funny. Lance thought it kinda sucked, and complained that it took 40 minutes to get to the story.
he was probably bummed we didn't see Iron Man. but he let me pick. and SO he didn't love it. there were some funny parts, some of it was incredibly predictable. we won't be owning it. but i didn't' hate it. and hey i was compromising between iron man that he wanted, and maid of honor that i wanted, and we saw BABY MAMA. i guess compromise isn't that great. next time we'll see the chick flick.

then we picked up Pierce and went to applebee's for reverse happy hour. the service was crap(20 minutes before we saw a server, 35 minutes for food that should have taken 10 and brought out cold. and we paid for it. since the server, didn't get a manager, we always see the manager, maybe it was the baby there taking down our credibility, but normally a manager always stops by our table wherever we go, to see how we are doing.it's almost weird. who knows but i made Lance call after the fact since he was steaming mad at the crappy service and cold food, he will officially boycott Applebee's for the long term now. bad service is death for a restaurant in his book.( which is always rad for me-said with extreme sarcasm) . awesome. Pierce was pretty darn good.

apparently we should have gone to iron man , and Filiberto's for our date. and someone would have been happier.
sheesh.
~~

on the bright side TONY has a gun show today, so he isn't coming, that means Lance is doing basketball duty. WHOOHOO.
~~
this morning the girls were playing hospital, Liberty was the Doctor.
she'd tell the girls what they had wrong with them, they'd repeat it. and then she'd give them band aides, and "vitamins" (tums). Joy ate 2 tums. NICE! i was awhile before i caught on that she was actually making them eat tums. i confiscated them, but hey a little calcium never hurt anyone. i'm rad for sure.

she also set up an x-ray machine in the piano, and x-rayed a doll 3 times.
it had a broken something or other and a stomach ache and was in need of some tums. hmmm. i'm noticing a theme here.
~~
i'm feeling ambitous, so maybe i'll go clean something. that should be delightful. maybe i'll tackle the basement. or the kids bedrooms.
(edit-i did the dishes then finished this post and did my emailing for the day)
more cleaning to come, along with having playdates. OY!

OH and DIAPER DIVA rocks.
she posted about her new "I would love to" Jar
and man i put a plan into action, and i've never had more helpful kids.

anything i ask them to do,
YES, I'D LOVE TO!
they get one chance, if they so no then change their mind or need to be asked twice NO TREAT.
we are going through candy like no tomorrow, but there are kids begging me to empty the dishwasher, or take out trash. and they are getting pretty fabulous about running to brush their teeth when i ask. wash hands, put shoes on. clean up a mess, or clear the table.

i want to get some vinyl cut saying:
I would love to!

anyway. super fun idea from Diaper diva, it is working wonders for me already!
thanks for that you smart smart lady! (sorry she's a private blogger.)
so i snagged this snip it from her blog (hope that's ok with her)
"we have an "I would love too" jar at our house.
If I ask you to do something and you say "I would love too" you get a prize...
Getting a Gobstopper seems to be the supreme motivator around here. Worked like a charm!!:):)"

apparently this fab idea came through the grapevine, and i'm just hearing about it. thank you ladies! you are all genius!
these fab ladies have all used the i would love to jar at some point.
Brooke got it from her mom, who shared with ONEHM, who shared with DIAPER DIVA who posted about it. heavenly day. thanks for sharing it. and however it got to me i am ultra thankful. i have a feeling this will make my summer a WHOLE lot easier. now to come up with things to do, and to keep the treats full. WHOOHOO!

FABULOUS!

hope your Saturday is equally exciting and that you have a fab weekend.

Ok, my husband always said..you got to pick last time...and I am like no you said that last time...so nevertheless he always picks or its not worth it...The chickflicks always get rented...

I totally want one of those jars...that would be a great motivator to have nicer kids...I wonder if it would work.

I am laughing about the hospital thing. My ped wants the twins to eat one tums a day. I have to be careful to keep them up or they will eat more than that too!

I saw Baby Mama on my GNO. I liked it. It stinks seeing a movie with a man who is complaining. That is why all girl movies are girls night. It just affects me when he hates it. I am waiting for Maid of Honor this week. YAHOO!

Yuck on Applebee's I do not like that place much anyway but bad service and cold food are pretty unforgiveable.

Glad you got a basketball break!

I need to do the 'I love you jar' again! Joy playing doctor was cracking me up that is so funny. Reminds me of when I was little.

I've heard from several people, including the Hunny, who saw it today, that Iron Man is FANTASTIC. So next time you have a movie date ...

I am so glad it is working so well for you. The candy consumption eventually goes down because they all of the sudden are obeying and forgetting to say "I would love too" and then you are technically not obligated to reward them. I love listening tomykiddos play doctor. How cute are they!! I don't think I could give up my favorite Applebee's salad!

Let's go see Maid of Honor. I want to see it, too.

Yay on the "love to" jar. I thought that was a fab idea, too. Wonder if it would work on my almost 12 year old?

Cute kiddos playing doctor! Fun to watch them be creative.

I may have to try that jar thing, though I may use money instead. They LOVE money! LOL We've had way too many cavities to try candy!

Date nights are SOOO hard when you have to get 2 babysitters. Sometimes it is NOT worth it! Esp since I do not have family around!
