lunch with Toddlers is not relaxing. anywhere other than Barro's

today i met my pal Jenn for lunch, we have been friends for 2 years and never gone to lunch.(just walmart until the wee hours of the morning 3+ times weekly for a year, and girls nights to shows or applebees.and shopping) but never lunch. shocking for sure. and she noticed i go to lunch with how many tons of people but never with her?

until today. we met at Crackers and company.

and i had 2 kids in tow. that right there killed any chance of fun.
i felt bad becuase i was late from wrangling the hoodlums. and we get right in, sit down. i whipped out toy cars and within 5 minutes, there was fighting over who got which car, grabbing of Jam on the table, stealing the salt and pepper shakers, and emptying of the sugar packets. whining, crying, hair pulling, and scratching.

WHY ME? what did i do to deserve this? oh yeah i had kids. and was dumb enough to bring them with me. RAD. lunch was fine. if i would have had a minute to eat. at one point i had two kids on my lap. no hands to eat. they didn't eat their pancakes, and Jenn was finished eating in no time. and then there was me. i packed it up and gave it to lance. i did have cheesecake at the end. and i learned a lesson on not going anywhere with kids that had that much on the table to get into. we didn't even get to chat, she'd ask me something, and I'd be taking care of them the whole time i didn't get a chance to answer.or ask her anything either. i even whipped out , fruit snacks, and candy and it only helped for a minute.

Jenn, Sorry for the less than fabulous conversation at Lunch.

and thanks for watching them while i went potty for a minute. Pierce really likes to lick sugar off the table, i should have warned you he can open the packets himself. at least they weren't screaming while i was in there ( for the 3 seconds it takes me to pee.)

next time I'm not bringing people with me. I'm exhausted!

attractive moment? i had poppy seeds from my salad dressing in my teeth, that i noticed when i got in the car to leave. PRETTY.

i'd rather be told i have something in my teeth. than not. how about you?

so know ahead of time if wanna go to lunch with me? i am open to anywhere i can bring kids, and not have to wrangle them and have them actually sit with me and stay quiet. i like to go eat and chat , not wrestle. class y places are on the list of approved lunch spots, Barro's and McDonalds. take your pick.

yeah and sorry all my posts have a hint (if not more) of whining. I'm drowning here. and trying to just keep swimming.

thoughts about you...

do you have a worst lunch story? care to share? tell me.

fave place to go eat with kids? since going without them is a rare treat.

would you rather be told you have something in your teeth?
or be blissfully unaware since it's embarrassing if someone tells you that?

I remember those kinds of days.
My DH took me out to lunch today.
We went to Taco Time. I ordered super nachos and spilled it down the front of me. My double D's make a perfect self were food can land.

& please tell me if I have something in my teeth or toilet paper hanging out my pants.

I'd always rather know that my shirt is on inside out, I have lipstick on my teeth, I have a string hanging on my butt, etc.

♡ My kids are really good the there is a playground other than that I don't take them with me. I don't think I've been to lunch w/or without kids EVER! occationally we'll take them for dinner to mcd's and that even rare!

I would totally WANT to know if I had something in my teeth! I'd rather be embarrased for 1/2 a second then wonder how many people saw me w/nasty crap in my teeth ALL day!!!

I was thinking about this post, and have to tell you...your kiddos were great yesterday! I love Barros for the fact that the kids can stay busy while the Mom's visit. It was sure fun seeing you yesterday. I LOVE that neckalce! I am going to start Sarah's this weekend. I'll show you the finished product after it is done.

I for sure want to know if there is something in my teeth, on my nose, etc.

Hi, Julie. Wow, you were brave to take your little ones to Crackers. I would rather not go than deal with that. But I'm a whimp. You must have really wanted to visit with your friend. Next time call me, and I'll watch them so you can go in peace. You deserve it. I seriously don't know how you do 6 under 9! You are awesome!

kids in restaurants equals no fun! i stick with places that have play areas preferrably with doors.

dude...YES someone PLEASE tell me if i have something stuck in my teeth or hanging from my nose!!

i learned this valuable lesson at a very early age when my mom had just gotten home after spending an afternoon with her friend doing whatever women do when they are able to escape their children for a whole aftrnoon...ANYWAY she was rushing to get dinner on the table and we heard a loud horn out front. we all went running to find her friend parked on our front lawn laying on the horn and hanging out the window screaming something at my mom..."You let me walk around ALL day with this huge bogger hanging out of my nose!! i thought we were friends" my mom PEED her pants laughing...i took note and started RIGHT then looking forward to the day when i could have boobs, drive AND still act like a kid!! awesome!

i PROMISE if you ever have anything in your teeth i will totally tell you...it's my job as your friend!

Ok funny story...

We went to mi amigos a couple of months ago, our whole family...we sat down and of course the kids are running around yelling, crying you name it... then they come sit another couple next to us..and after the couple checked our family out they say to the greeter lady..LOUD enough for us to hear."We don't want to sit by them". Yeah that made me feel good!!

I am not fond of taking my kids out to eat...ANYWHERE!! Except for Chuckie Cheese or peter piper where we buy ourselves food and just let the kids run around.

SERIOUSLY want to know when I have food in my teeth.
No question, hands down.

Sorry that your lunch was less than stellar. I too do not enjoy lunch with the littles, unless they can be themselves.
Grandma's kitchen in downtown mesa has kids stuff (toys, crayons, etc.), but not a play area. Could be worth a try.

I am so sorry to hear that you are having a rough time. Some days I just don't think I will EVER get my head above water again. And sometimes I am JUST TOO TIRED to keep swimming!!!

Lunch with kids is no fun at all! I am sorry! You can call me too if you need someone to watch kids. Kade would love someone to play with once in a while!

We do need to have a blogger girl night out, party or craft night!

I hope you are having an awesome saturday!

Ok - first of all! NO BIG DEAL! The kids were fine and I enjoyed the time no matter what!! They were fine and you were sooooo calm - it amazed me!
Second, I SWEAR I saw nothing in your teeth and I hope you don't think I would purposely not tell you if something was in your teeth!! If I saw it - I'd tell you!! PROMISE!
Thanks again for lunch and when you need to hit Wal-mart late at night - I'm game!

I want to know about stuff in my teeth, but I always get SUPER embarrassed when I'm told. I'm lame like that.

I want to come to lunch with you!! Seriously someday I am coming to AZ. It's settled.

I have been out of town. I have had several bad lunches out. Top one was throwing up at the table and getting on the server (thanks to Lindsey). Last time I went on a girls lunch my girls made me take them to the bathroom 10 times! I did not eat a thing. I have not wanted to do it since (with them). I love girls nights out. Lunch places are great with playlands (I hate the food). Take out at home or a park is better though. Sorry your lunch was so lame and that you are having a hard time. It will get better :)

Oh and I ABSOLUTELY want to know if I have something in my teeth or some other embarrassing thing. Problem is I hate telling people! Some people, who I am close to its easy but others well I have to admit I let it go many times! AHH!

I don't go out for lunch much, but I love Barros. Great sanity break, and my kids love tv so we could stay for hours without destroying my house.

Worst dinner: Rosa's for my husband's birthday. 2 spilled drinks, one falling off his chair, 3 trips outside to calm kids down. Yeah, we left before the food came.
