you know it's one of those days...

when

-the 8 year old flips out about her outfit selection, hates every pair of clean shorts, mini skirts, or leggings that she has to choose from. she ends up wearing jeans. and you don't care you just want her to leave, and go to summer school . even if she is now late from having a fit.

-you go to chevron for beverages. and happen to spill the husbands drink on the counter. before you pay.

-you check your bank account and it is a little too low for your comfort, considering the husband is leaving out of town and always spends more money than is normal. and you figured out what put the bank account so low? yeah the $95 in gas. at costco last night. somehow i failed to plan for that.

-you realized you need prescriptions filled. which is another $50 you didn't plan on , AND it's not 100% necessary for anyone's health , it just makes your kids LESS annoying than they naturally are. which in turn makes you calmer and nicer instead of cranky and mean from the constant lack of impulse control. and just so you know Peyton is on my last nerve. and promptly lost privileges for today. YAY for computer time for me.

-i mentioned the husband going out of town. he didn't ask for help and yet hasn't packed anything, AND he is lacking anything to wear on his trip. Business casual. is OVERRATED.
so i am doing laundry, and packing. but just so you know if i had spare money , i'd be buying new outfits to save myself the effort on the laundry. that's how i roll. too bad my budget kills that.

-and one kid gets to go on a play date with a far away cousin, and needs to take a swim suit instantly alerting everyone else that they aren't going swimming and they suddenly decide they need to go swimming, and in order to do that they must harass me every 2 minutes until i either have a total breakdown, OR take them swimming. wonder which it will be?

-and hmm. the purse is going back. as much as i like it. it would relieve a little money stress. i guess i should just be excited i got a tank of gas for my birthday and call it good. DAMN IT!

-and yesterday when we were shopping for Joy's birthday, and Lance for fathers day, the kids remembered they didn't go shopping for my birthday. hmm thanks. i did get a purse. for like 12 hours. yay me.

The positive?

At least the drink spilled before the purchase allowing for a free refill. And it didn't sound like any got you wet.

That sucks about the purse, but I know how that goes.

Ok, I think we are living the same life sometimes...spooky...
As soon as you get a little extra cash, go get the damn purse.
Maybe they can eat top ramen and mac n cheese and burritos for a while, and you can save some grocery money. Do it, you deserve a birthday present too!
Hope your day gets better!

Ooh, ooh, use your food storage. Then you can save some money! We just bought some of that 30-year freeze dry kind, but it's full meals where you just add 1-cup boiling water and it's so yummy. I'd be pulling it out and using that, but hubby wants to use it for when/if we need it. I think your situation sounds like a need it. Then you could keep your purse.

These gas prices HAVE GOT TO GO! I haven't been going anywhere just because of that. I just topped off and put a half tank in since I was by Cotsco anyway, and it was $62. So $120 if I would've filled up?!? I am so glad I've got stores by me now. This is one summer I'm not minding if we stay home the entire time.

Sorry you had to give your purse up. And for meds and gas. But your sanity is worth A LOT! I'm always glad when I have something I can return when cash is short, so there is that!

Oh girl... you had one of those days too?

Is it Peyton's ADHD meds? My pharmacy lost J's script so they gave me a "coupon/discount card" from the company that makes Concerta. It was $25 towards the purchase of a month's worth of meds... for 3 times. It works with private insurance to pay the co-pay. (our co-pay os $25 so I am OOP nothing for 3 months). See if the meds Peyton takes has any program like that. I am going to see about getting 2 more of those cards since E and I am on these meds too.

Hope tomorrow eases up. I HATE it when dh is out of town. Mine is right now till Friday. UGH. Thankfully, we did not have Yogurt poured down the air vent again today. YEAH!

i hear ya on the whole gas thing...GROSS huh? i was watching the news the other day and there were people being interviewed at the pumps and people were actually in tears over it. they were saying they had to chose between gas and feeding their families. so sad.

i would totally buy the new clothes too...i so hate laundry!! you are RAD!

i hate having to return things due to budget restraints but i think we have all been there, i do it all the time. bummer.

So sorry you only got your birthday present for 12 hrs. That SUCKS!!!! But with the price of gas you will staying home more and will be needing the meds to keep sane.

Had to add, been there with the b-day money. For one of my birthdays I had to use my birthday money to buy a new toilet in a rental house since my 2yr shattered the toilet. NICE! I am still mad about that one. But what do ya do when that is the only extra money at the time. And the sad thing was I was actually just stark raving thankful that it happened on my Birthday or I wouldn't have had the money for the toilet at all.

Dude, I hate gas. prices, that is. I don't have flatulence issues (not today, anyway.) I swear we are going to starting riding our bikes around this summer. Your 8-year-old sounds like me on PMS. Youch!

I hate when the kids BUG me every 2 minutes trying to get something from me! UGH!!

I have totally done what you did... take something of MINE back just so we have grocery/gas money! Ok these gas prices have GOT TO GO!!! I swear the price goes up every HOUR!! What's up with that? C'mon over $4 a gallon???? It's outrageous!!! It's definitely breaking our bank! If it wasn't already broken.

You should get a little something for your birthday. I mean at least they tried to let you pick something out.

I do the whole feel guilty & want to take care of my family rather than have something for myself too!
