fabulous friday- 15 fabulous things from the first week of school.
in no particular order. ( be prepared, these are guaranteed to be random and may have absolutely nothing to do with school .)
1. 5 days of success for being to school on time! WHOOHOO! (i am stinking exhausted from the early mornings BUT feel totally rad about it) it's to the point the kids are asking why I'm getting up so early now. but i wonder something , does everyone hit snooze at least once? i set my alarm to allow for one or TWO hits of the snooze and still leave me time to get up and get everyone ready.
2. BUNKO! i got to sub last night for a friends group. and meet a BUNCH of REALLY FUN girls.
and everyone in my regular groups will be thrilled to know my luck has run out, and i was LAST to pick. LOOSER! oh but Karalyn had some really fun games and i won one. yay extra prize for me.
3. Fawn gave me my Pay it forward prize! it is freaking FABULOUS! and took a ton of time and effort. it's SO stinking cute, and in my signature colors too. it's a mini scrapbook. all i have to do is add the pictures. which I'm afraid to do since I'll probably ruin it. but I'll try. She even customized it with my kids names. and they were all spelled right! seriously she is UBER TALENTED! thanks Fawn I totally LOVE IT! REALLY TRULY! YOU ARE RAD!
4. WILD Bunko tonight at my sister in law Alicia's house WHOOHOO! her prizes are spectacular and i can't wait to win ONE. ANY ONE ! and it didn't hurt that i helped her shop for them. ;) but Alicia has FABULOUS TASTE so anything she would pick is FABULOUS! (if she had a blog I'd link to her but she doesn't yet. dang it.)
5. my mom came for dinner last night and while she was waiting for it she folded the mountain of towels on my front room couch(the kids helped for a minute freaking turkey's ditching out on helping). and Lance actually put them in the cupboard (away)! HALLELUJAH! we had used every bath towel and beach towel in the house, washed them and they sat on the couch WAY too LONG! living off the couch rather than the linen closet. i need to purge some old blankets, and re organize that cupboard. it's been too dang long. next week.
6. i swept the whole main floor again(while my mom folded) and I FINALLY get to mop sometime today. yeah, I've talked about it all week, but haven't managed to get it done. i was waiting for people to nap so i could, the one day they napped , i did too. today is the day , no matter what!
7. home work was finished and signed off on every day this week.
with only minimal nagging or threats on my part. nobody forgot it. and we even practiced spelling words.
8.EVERYONE is loving going to the school Library, and checking out books. Peyton has been reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire like a fiend all week(he got it on the 1st day of school, he finished the 3rd one last week). the only problem is he's reading instead of chores, or homework, or sleep. hmm wonder where he gets that?? Me? DAD? um yeah both of us are known to do this. but on the upside, all of our kids love to read. they love books, and even the little ones will go grab a book and sit quietly looking at them if they see me sitting on the couch reading. someday I'll get a picture of it. it was FREAKING ADORABLE!
9. 2 fab lunch dates with 1,2,3, friends this week. and 2 planned already for next week. i love going to lunch and visiting with friends. i love my friends. and my kids love having friends and look forward to playing with my friends kids.
10. dinner this week. we had it on time. we had it together. we discussed our days, and are trying a new listening and taking turns thing while everyone tells about their day. we had minimal spills. i kept up on the dishes.
11. bedtime schedules are back to regularly scheduled programs. or close to it. and a solid routine that worked almost too well for me. now if i could just get naps back on schedule I'd be RAD!
12. 4 out of 5 morning beverages lovingly fetched by Lance this week. now i feel totally LOVED! Have you ever read the 5 love languages books? mine is gifts. and something as simple as a beverage, or treat counts as a gift to me, and i feel totally loved when i receive one. My love Language is gifts and Quality time. wanna figure out what your love language is or are? go here to take the quiz to discover how you most effectively give and receive love? or . Both Lance and i HAVE read it. he even suggested it to friends when he was in college (last 5 years) and we've given it as a standard wedding gift. seriously LOVE IT! you need to read it.
13. getting an Email from Savers announcing 50% off day on LABOR DAY! WHOOHOO! that is when they bring out the Halloween treasures. and who doesn't love 50% off day? i can really only bring myself to shop there for 50% off. yes i am that CHEAP!
14. finding my label maker! i can't wait to put it to use! next week. I've got BIG PLANS for it!
15. now I'm going upstairs and taking a NAP! Lance was telling me to. :) i always feel better about it when i have his blessing to go ahead and do it. even though i have other things that i should be doing. thanks honey. it's been a long week of late nights and earlier than i like mornings.
so?
did you take the quiz? what was your love language?
have you read those books before?
How do you feel about kids checking out library books?
what are your kids reading?
did you take note of Savers 50% off day?
what is your bedtime routine?
how about dinner? do you eat as a family?
Isn't my scrapbook from Fawn too freaking CUTE!?! go tell her so! here
are you jealous i have bunko 2 nights in a row? \
the questions are optional and really just to refresh your memory of what the post was about by the time you got to the end.
Have a FABULOUS FRIDAY!

Holy cow, girl! You're all over it this week! You cntinue to amaze me. Go, YOU!
Wow, you have had a busy week but kept up on everything- you rock!
I read the Love Language book, but it has been a long time. I took the test. top scores were tied words of affirmation with quality time. touch was a close 2nd. gifts were very last, although i do appreciate them. Enjoy your nap! I never feel guilty about a nap. Happy mom makes for a happy family :)
Thanks for the comments on my blog! I think being tested would make me feel better. I did read that the risk goes down after the 1st half of the pregnancy, so I am HOPING everything is fine. But it wouldn't hurt to make sure. THANKS!
Oh what would we do without our moms who help us out!!
And good job for being on time everyday...We were almost late for the bus today and I saw the bus driver shaking his hand at my kids this morning...sheesh!!!
Sounds like a great week, and maybe we will have to do lunch soon so I can get you this bag that is just dying to get to you!!
I am Acts of sefice and quality time. Totally true too! Great job on this post - the all the fun things you are doing. Isn't a routine great! I love it! Happy friday now get some sleep!
My main one was Acts of Service and then a tie between Quality Time and Physical Touch... I have the Cd's and I love his class... :)
I had a 3 way split on the test. Some of the choices were hard for me.
LOVE that scrapbook - what a great friend!
Yay for bunko tonight! Can't hardly wait. And I'm sorry you're over your winning streak. Ok not really, because maybe it's my turn to finally win!
Wow, you asked a lot of questions. I can't even answer them all.
Taylor is reading Orson Scott Card books right now. Connor reads everything and anything.
Dinner we usually try to eat as a family.
Your scrapbook from Fawn is indeed too freaking cute!
I'm jealous that you have bunko two nights in a row. I just got invited to one in my neighborhood next week - whoo-hoo!
See you tonight!
Wow! It sounds like your week has been truly delightful! :) I hope, hope, hope, and pray that school starting here this next week will cause that to happen to my life. Frankly, I need it....today ranks right there in the bottom of truly crapful days for me......a personal mommy meltdown, too much freaking out at the kids (poor things, no wonder they hate their mom), fight with the hubby.....great day. I think I need a nap! Or perhaps a really early bedtime?! Is 2:40 really too early?!
Thank goodness for the sanity I get from blogs.....and even better, you posted too! :) Don't let me get you down. I'll get myself another DP and feel better soon. Until then, I'm breathing and counting the minutes until Monday, 8am!
Mine went back on Tuesday, and it's so QUIET around here during the day... I can actually hear myself thinking - yeah, I did...
I miss em when they are gone, but hey, work is much more productive...

Wow you were on top of it this week.
I never use an alarm to wake up. My kids all get me up WAY earlier than I would like. I wish I could hit snooze on my twin duo for sure. I guess it helps me be up and on time.
I love the library (posted about this_. My issue with the kids is they often loose the books. We still go all the time and enjoy that great resource.
We try to eat dinner as a family but in the summer is happens a lot less. Winter we are all over it.
Oh and lastly would you believe I have never played Bunko?
a pretty successful week i would call that! happy friday 2u2!
Seems like you had a FABULOUS WEEK!

Hey, no fair TWO bunko groups!!!! I keep trying to get into one! I keep asking around and know I will find one sometime soon!
Dinner with the family is great.I love it!
