fun stuff. and end of summer crankiness!
bickering is constant at our house. 2 big boys are grounded from the computer today, which to them is WORSE than death. too stinking bad!
Bunko last night was super delightful! and guess who won? ME! winner! 4 people had to roll off tied with 3 bunkos each, and i won the roll off. i could have also won high score, and last travel. so i was a winner no matter what. yay me!
sorry to rub it in girls.
Breaking Dawn discussion was limited since not everyone was done. but we all agreed on some things. i still won't say what it is though in case people aren't started yet. i still think i loved it!
i cleaned a bunch yesterday. and am trying to maximize the dressing room before school starts Monday. i just need to sort and label the kids basics into bin. and label them. i don't remember where i put my labeler. hmm. i better find that.
I'm 8 chapters in on Battlefield Earth. it's ok so far. but i'm not dying to read it yet. Lance was funny when i was cleaning yesterday he accused me of avoiding reading the book. which was semi true. But i also have a deadline before back to school so i need to organize all i can before so we can get ready in a timely manner. i can read with my free time. later.
Oh and getting up early just may kill me. we are so not ready to get back to a normal school schedule. as far as up and ready and out the door by 8 something. i'm afraid we will be late this year too. and i really hate that. prep the night before is KEY!
gotta get ready. have to organize. need to plan ahead.
as jealous as i am of the moms who had kids start today, or monday or last week. i'm still not quite ready.
but i am ready to only have these two home with me all day! i'll be traveling light. unfortunately with the big kids gone, i won't have any help keeping them out of trouble too. since these are the people that graffiti on my walls and furniture. climb to the top of the piano to steal candy, and dump water out on the floor all day.
and yes i worry when they are gone to school. especially the first few days. hoping they will behave. make new friends, and not be stressed or overwhelmed about school like i was as a kid. and hoping their teachers like/tolerate them.
this one worries me. she got new adhd meds. it's the first try for her. and they make her over the top emotional all day. so i'm concerned we don't have her meds figured out before school starts. i need to call the DR. and see what she thinks. the crying emotions are worse than her being hyper and annoying. we'll see. hopefully it's an easy fix. like a smaller dose or trying a different type.
wanna read something Liberty was saying in the car yesterday with my mom and sister? go here.

I'm so ready for school and preschool to start. I'm washing the new clothes today and going to put them away. Caleb starts next Tuesday and Carson starts the first monday in September. I don't know what I'll do without all the fighting, yelling and whining, lol! I'll have 3 days a week without kids. YAY!
I would agree, as nice as it is to have them home I am ready for the constant bickering to stop!
A lighter load for you, woo-hoo!
I had the emotional adhd medicine reaction going on with Hunter and we just lowered the dosage and he was fine. Good luck with that! It's so hard to figure it out!
Love Liberty's take on being a mom- so cute! I too worry about my kids when they are at school, but I am looking forward to the better schedule. Your family dressing room will make morning so much easier!
I love what Liberty said. So sweet! Wow, you really have her fooled (Just kidding!). It's nice that she sees all the good things you do, and doesn't focus on the not so great mommy moments.
School is so nice! I think I am liking it more than this year than any other. I almost get sad when the weekends come now. Not that I don't love my boys, but I don't love their fighting.
You won at bunko AGAIN? You are not allowed to win anymore! At least in our group. Do you know how long it's been since I won?? I think it's the pink dice, they're not working for me.
Bunko was so fun last night-always a blast when your around!!
I love what Liberty said about being mom-you really do have her fooled love it!
I couldn't agree more with you! As much as I love my kids, I can't wait for them to start school so I can have some "ME" time.
Liberty is too cute for words!!!
I'm just itching for the talk to start about Breaking Dawn; we can all put SPOILER ALERT, right?!? RIGHT?!? :)
Happiness is...the first day of school!
At least your school starts Monday. I still have freakin 3 weeks left!!!
I am really torn about it all though. I love being able to sleep in!!! Those days are numbered!
I'm so jealous your little ones are going back to school next week. Hope doesn't start until September 4th...ack!
So don't call me dumb, but I have no idea what bunko is. But I do have to say I will be sooo sad when my kids go back to school, even though I have seven. I am glad for the end of summer bickering though, I do have to agree on that one. :)
I was for sure glad my kids went back today! I needed it! Although I did get slightly choked up when I kissed them each goodbye. And I have a new kindergartner....which I was so happy that he went happily and was very ready! My last kindergartener did not seem quite as ready and it was more difficult to deal with. Thankfully those days are in the past!
I'm hoping to get started on your letters tomorrow. I can't wait to find some papers for them! That's the funnest part...well next to seeing the finished product!
Liberty is so sweet. She broke my heart with her adorable-ness!!
:)
Bickering is getting louder around our house as well...AAAAHHHHH!
My oldest started kindergarten last week and the "getting up early" is killin' me. I miss the summer days. Both kids are making it through the day without naps, so there goes my nap, so my late night blogging/reading has suffered too. I am not a morning person. No more sleeping in and no more naps for me either, though they are going to bed earlier. The "normal" schedule is nice, but it is an adjustment for all of us. Good luck.
I love your flag pics. SO DANG CUTE. Good luck with the meds it's hard to find a good level at first. Good luck. I really wish my kids were going back soon. We start August 25th. FUN!
I was terrified I would not make it through summer but thinking about them going back to school makes me so sick to my stomach. I am not ready. I am not ready at all for my boy to be gone all day! It goes too fast. My kids have 2.5 weeks. Thank you thank you for keeping your spoiler off your site. I have not read the book and hate spoilers SO much!
I have had mixed emotions about school starting too. We started back yesterday. I thought of a million things I could go out, and do. I ended up just doing the regular stuff! Clean, cook, clean a little more etc. The joys of Motherhood!
I LOVE how the pictures of your kids turned out! They are all so good looking!
Well, kids start school next wednesday... and, to be honest, I will miss them being here during the day. As a work at home dad/husband/caregiver/yada yada yada, I really enjoy them at home (plus, I really hate getting up at 6am on school days).
Anyway, TOTALLY AGREE on the computer time-out. That denomination works particularly well with my boys (9 and 12). We even go so far as "NO SCREENS" at times - no TV, no Computer, no hand-held games, no screens at all... at which point there is deep repentence, wailing and gnashing of teeth...
You're awesome!

I'm not in the school phase yet. Spencer is starting preschool and I'm hoping I can get him there on time at 9:30. This will be a challenge... I think I'll totally be screwed by the time all my kids are in school and I have to have them out the door. So, good luck to you! I have a feeling you're gonna need it:)
♥ Cute pictures!
love the tounge trick picture...
Ok BUNKO QUEEN!!! CONGRATS!!! But like Tammy said, you're not allowed to bring all that good luck with you to our group (unless it's when you're my partner - helping me score BIG)!!! HAHAHAH
I'm excited and nervous for school to start! We are NOT ready for the early schedules (early to bed and early to rise)! YIKES!!
But we finally have everything they need, so they are stoked! And feeling ready to start!
Still LOVIN those flag pics!!
See you 2nite!!! {meet the teachers}
those pictures are really great. Good luck with back to school!
bunko was sooo fun!! yay! you are definitely the big winner. i was jealous. i love all of these pictures they are too cute
Good luck getting ready for school...we still have 3 weeks. The photos of your kids are so cute...I feel like I haven't really seen them close up. I hope everything works out with the meds, and OMG!! The conversation of Libertys? So cute....
