Nie nie day shout out great cause, auction alerts!

Many of you have heard about the plane crash in which Stephanie and Christian Nielson were in involved in earlier this month. Both are in very serious condition and have months and months of hospital stays and surgeries ahead (with costs going into the millions). Gabrielle at Design Mom has declared today "Nie Nie Day" and has coordinated a huge silent auction via the web. She has a list of all the sites participating with links to their site and what they are auctioning off. ALL PROCEEDS from these auctions will go towards their recovery fund. So spread the word to your family and friends. There are a lot of fun items up for sale (I think she said there are 165+ sites participating).

My sister is Participating, (and she is jumping into the auctions late) so she wanted me to spread the word that she is offering the CUTEST kiddie apron/pinafore (size 6 month to 4 Toddler) to go towards the Nie Nie day auctions!

she is using one for her daughter as a apron/bib/smock, so she can feed herself or play without "crapping up" (my word not hers) her clothes.

i thought about it for a minute, but saw there was a entry limit of noon EST. and well i didn't get on the computer until noon AZ time, dang it.

i would have offered a FABULOUS custom glitter cup! not that it is worth much but it's a good cause right?

this tragedy has been all over the blogs, effecting many of my real life friends around town.
i feel horrible for their kids, and the families of all involved! the thought of that horrible accident!
and those sweet sweet kids that are SO young,
and being shipped off to stay with loving aunts, and uncles in another state.
heartbreaking! and her sweet family that RUSHED down here to help, and took her kids in. that is a HUGE Sacrifice and LOVING example of how families should be! amazing! truly touching the sweet things her sister has said on her blog about them, and All the bloggers that have been touched by Nie Nie and her story, and her amazing FABULOUS blog.
the struggle they have ahead of them is daunting. surviving that kind of crash, and recovering is a HUGE HUGE scary thing. my heart goes out to them!

and it has also brought a lot of reflection into my own thoughts
about my family, and my children and what i would do?
who would take them in? and raise them and love them as thier own, or treat them more carefully because of the heartaches they would surely have from the changes happening to them?

the selfless acts of others in this situation and
the reaction across the blog world is awe inspiring!
