MUST.OVERHAUL.QUICKLY. **EDITTED version!! **
I'm feeling frantic this morning. of course it's due to procrastination. always.
somehow deadlines sneak up on me.
instead of cleaning, i baked and made jam.
yesterday i ran errands. and went to lunch with my hubby and fave brother
and today my house is still weekend dirty.
and i have a home visit for Pierce here.
at my home. UGH!
intake interview.
so the front room needs to be neat and tidy. and mopped. and maybe i should remove that nail polish off the front room tile. i was holding out for new tile HA! like that is gonna happen
no my front room IS never clean.
it takes effort.
we don't have a garage entrance, OR a mud room.
so people come in and drop their stuff. remove shoes. ditch toys.
it's also in between floors (tri level) so stuff just magically collects right there. in the front room between the basement and the kitchen , and the upstairs .
it's the entrance and exit.
and of course it's made worse by speedy entering and exiting.
ditch and run tactics make it worse than usual.
and the weekends? kill it. it's the couch where people sit and read. i do it. Lance does it. it's a problem .
we don't go down to the vortex (basement/kids domain) to read since we usually want to sit quietly semi alone. you just don't get that in the vortex. EVER. it's messy, the TV is always on,and as soon as you sit down on the couch down there, it's an invitation to have 4-6 kids sitting on your lap, next to you and climbing all over you. it's not ideal for reading quietly alone.
which of course explains the mess in the front room
and my FrAnTiC but OH SO NECESSARY stash and dash cleaning methods.
that are called for today.
IF i would have done it Monday it would have been undone twice over.
if i would have done it Tuesday, i would have had to re mop because spills always happen when I've freshly mopped.that and usually Pierce hoses into the front room these days if the door is open when he's outside hosing.
So today is the day.
i better QUIT STALLING and get going, and get it done. so i can stop feeling frantic.
maybe I'll have a minute to decorate for Halloween.
OR read my book on the couch in the front room! OHHH now there is a thought.
hope your day is FABULOUS ! and not frantic.
**EDIT! **it's over! the interview lasted all of 15 minutes. no the floor didn't get mopped(she was 15 minutes early!) BUT everything was out of the room. cleared out the upstairs hallway that you see from the couch.
i swept and cleared out the toys, shoes, floaties, library book bag, purse, trash, random papers, extra old magazines. etc. TA DAAAAAAAAAA!
now that's over I'm heading out to BFE to pick up my enrichment stuff, the vinyl and boards YAY! so then i can come home and clean some more for tomorrows Enrichment mini craft group.
so don't let me comment today. if you see a comment from me, tell me to go clean something. if you see me online remind me i need to get back to it.
thanks for the support gals! you are awesome.
i just need to stay off the computer and on task. no relaxing today.
and while you are reminding me not to do stuff. Remind me never to buy cheap soda again. 5whole 12 packs of sugary colored soda, gone in 3 days . WASTED by kids. and spilled , dribbled, and ditched half full all over the house. NEVER AGAIN! stupid,StUpId ,STUPID!

oh i SO wish i lived closer so that i could help. i WANT to help. would you let me if i were your neighbor?
good luck!
Now it the time to shove everything you can everywhere else. My last minute cleaning secret. You're welcome.
I hate procrastination, which I am doing right now as I put off my freelancing to blog ;)!
Good luck. Let us know how the interview goes :).
When I have a frantic time like that I quickly throw everything in that room that doesn't belong there in a basket with the intention of putting it away when I have time. I now have two or three baskets loaded with miscellaneous stuff that still needs to be put away. Weekends always destroy our house. Monday is dig out from Sunday.
I'm not doing anything important. Call me if you want some help! I'm listed...
HA!!! I love the stash and dash. That's why my "office" aka the laundry room is always a disaster!!!
Yeah! You did it!!! Way to go! Did you get the nail polish off the tile?
Oh how many days I feel just this way. Sigh!
No peeking to see if anyone has left new comments either! (That's my biggest problem.)
Well, you have to have your priorities straight. Lunch with your husband is ALWAYS going to have to trump cleaning. Eternal relationship and everything. Are you going to take your clean house with you when you die?;) How did the intake go?
Here's a tip I just read:
Always keep a few get well cards on your table or mantle so when people drop by, they see you have an excuse to not have a clean house.
That made me laugh and think of your day.
Since I officially spent over $1500 last month on groceries alone, we will not be buying drinks either!
have you ever looked into flylady.net? She is pretty good and gets you going and organized. I moved from living in chaos to a bit of order.
Oh my, house work never ends!
Glad to hear that the intake went well and it was speedy. See all that stash and dash and it is over.
You're a Speedy Gonzalas..."undale, undale, yee haw!"
Now go clean something.
YAY!! Thank goodness for stash & dash! I used to do that! One time it was for a family get together at our house! Our tiny kitchen was a mess, so guess where everything got hidden? Here's a hint...don't turn on the oven! hahaha
Ok forget my comment on baking cookies so the house smells yummy! Go finish what you're doing so you can have your Enrichment craft class! Good Luck with that & have FUN!!
Wish I could've joined you for that CUTE craft! Serious lack of funds won't allow for it right now!
