minor anxiety .holiday anxiety. already.
it's been an up and down morning.
up because I'm way excited. to get the holiday's under way.
down because i REALLY REALLY want a certain dress for the girls for Christmas. i wanted them last year too. but holy crap this is when it doesn't pay to have 3 girls. i could totally rationalize dropping a chunk of change on one girls dress. but 3? yeah it's not happening. it's not even possible. sigh.
up because i think i may have talked my wonderful fabulously talented mom into either helping me sew them myself, OR maybe even her doing it for me. how fab would that be?
down because I'm pretty darn sure i saw one of these skirts at the store for a rock bottom price , and i was feeling cheap that day,and didn't buy it. THEN i saw it online while dreaming about them and discovered what an insane deal it truly was, now I'm experiencing the dreaded shoppers remorse. for missing out. sigh.
UP because i have scheduled my family pictures with my super talented professional photographer brother in law.
up because I'm sure they will be super fabulous.
up because i get to pick a fabulous location.
down because i have to get outfits ready.
down because as fabulous as they will be, we aren't going to be getting the super fabulous pearl paper cards. again.
DOWN because i live in reality and am eternally low budget.
Up because i love the idea of Christmas .
down because of the budget.
up because i found some stinking cute stuff I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to buy.
down because i live in reality. damn budget.
Up because i have fabulous taste.
down because i have expensive taste.

I've worked myself into an anxiety attack with all the ups and downs. and it's only freaking November.

one month of stress should be more than enough but no, retailers have me in a holiday frenzy prematurely.

You make me laugh! It will all be OK... I have no budget either, so make it fun, that's what I like to do. Make cookies w/ the kids to deilver to friends and family... it doesn't have to be over-the-top, just enjoy your family!
Just relax and breathe! I too have a tight Christmas budget....I totally understand! And yeah, I wanted these super cute baby girl dresses too...but I have to buy 2 so that doubled the price and didn't get them! I figure it's Christmas and just as long as we remember WHY we have Christmas the other stuff doesn't matter....I keep telling myself that I MAY just believe it! :)

I got super lucky and found some really cute dresses for my girls, when I wasn't seriously looking. We were at the mall for a dr appointment and a little early, so I headed over to Penney's to wait rather than sitting in the lobby of the Dr's office. They had all of their holiday dresses on sale for 50% off. I totally couldn't pass it up, especially since I found 2 that were similar enough but not identical and super cute! Of course now I have to get coordinating stuff for the boys. I'm hoping to get pics this year though. I didn't last year because I totally slacked on christmas attire. I didn't have the money to buy anything super cute. I actually ended up w/a dress I'd found at Savers and a matching dress from ebay. Which is fine, but I prefer to buy new for special occasions.

Hahah you make me laugh. But really I can relate.I remember when the girls were little its really a pain trying to dress girls especially.Wait til they get older;)BREATHE! lol Anyway, I think most of us are on a tight budget,but im hoping things will improve.You have to think positive.I know when people told me that I kinda thought yeah right. But seriously now that the girls are grown,its easier to dedicate time for ME. That includes thinking "this too will pass"(my dear motherinlaw used to tell me that)Take care!

I feel your pain!! We just drained our savings on our car (sadly there wasn't much there) and now we have a trip to make for thanksgiving. I am trying to prepare my children for a small Christmas. Hopefully they aren't too dissapointed.
Um, yeah. I am stressing now. I don't want to spend a lot. Not in this economy. And we never get a pic taken in time for our card. At least you have your appointment for them. And help with dresses.

I guess I am lucky with only one girl, but the dress I was coveting was way more then I want to pay for all 5 of my kids...$160..isnt that rediculous...it was soooo stinkin cute though. If I were rich I would totaly pay it but I am not and back to reality.
I have enjoyed sewing lately so maybe I should sew her a dress that is similar...hmmm...now the wheels are turning..

Julie, just know you can always come rock in a corner in the Madhouse. I'm already there and have assumed fetal position, babeee! That's the only way to go in times like these.

I was feeling this last year--about the lack of fancy matching Christmas dresses--then I just accepted it instead of fighting it and seriously, guess what? I. DIDN'T. CARE.
Which was totally weird, because I always love to get my 2 girls matchy holiday dresses. But they wore their dresses from the year before & I just let it go.
Let it go! Release the anxiety! Do stuff you enjoy and commit to enjoy the seasonal stuff that is low key and low-cost! (i'm speaking from experience)
And then go eat baked goods.

I'm freaking about it too because I have birthdays in November also. I get it ALL in November and December but I'm not smart enough to shop all year. lol
Ditto! We have practically NO budget for Christmas this year (let alone buying a turkey & fixin's for Thanksgiving)! Plus, my kids can't think of things they really want & I hate buying crap just to get them soemthing! UGH!!!
