Primary Program 2008 and the new Christmas dresses

today was the primary program at Church . my mom came and helped get people dressed this morning. since i can't manage to be on time on a normal day, much less when i want them to look decent. so i can always use all the help i can get. helping do hair and put clothes on.

here are the new Church outfits. the Black and fuchsia with lace overlay skirts, and black velour tops. and the boys got black shirts. and pants but Peyton's didn't fit. and i couldn't find any for pierce . Paxton is the only one that wanted to wear a tie. which is fine by me. we go casual , no tucking, no ties normally.

(Lance took the pictures for me while i put my shoes on. and made use of the lint brush. doing my girls hair in a black dress isn't a good idea.)

Photobucket

pictured Peyton, Paxton, Liberty,Pierce, Hope and Joy.

anyway. and i didn't get around to making the bows to match. i hit walmart last night to get ribbon. and well piddled around too long while talking to Jen on the phone while i shopped. only to come home to Lance asleep so i got to carry the 20 bags of groceries in by myself.

so after a long day, of being gone and some shopping i was too tired and just settled for tying ribbon in their hair today. i'll get around to the FABULOUS bows later.

the program? went fine. no one picked their nose, no one waved like a dork. my kids didn't anyway and that is all that matters to me. i lectured on the way to church about everyone being able to see you up there and no doing those things. and i told them to watch for my wink. so they'd know i saw them , eliminating the need for the waving. it worked fabulously.

Hope refused to participate, she sat with her class for awhile but didn't say her part, and then sat with Lance and his class the rest of the time.

Joy was pouting the whole time because her teacher pissed her off. and took away the hymn book she was playing with. so she didn't sing much, and frowned the whole time she was on the stand to say her part. "I can be kind to my family and others" . awesome. her attitude says it all. i was holding my breath fully expecting her to say she hated someone. and burp or something.

Paxton was great. and i had a great view of him singing.

Liberty was one of the first to stand up. happy to sing.

Peyton even sang. which was great. and did his part well.

and Pierce? he sat with me and my mom and yelled every time he saw a sibling. he had every intention of going to sit with Lance.

to keep him happy he shoveled a half of a big bag of fruit snacks into his mouth 7 at a time. drooling. I'm really liking the black shirt it doesn't show any colored drool. FABULOUS.

and of course no church sponsored event is complete without him flinging something in the air and hitting someone. this time it was a fruit snack. he was trying to share with Uncle Gary 2 rows back and nailed the girl in the row behind us. awesome.

(at least it was small compared to the snack size candy bar he nailed someone in the head with ,at the baptism last month)

today i had a 4 hour nap. FABULOUS! i haven't slept in for weeks. and haven't taken naps but continued with my ridiculous schedule of staying up too late. so it was a much needed nap.

yay.

oh and i nearly forgot i get to go to jury duty tomorrow. that should be interesting.

do you think if i say/act like, i'm really prejudiced they will excuse me? a day i can do. anything longer and there is no way i have time for that.

my mom is watching the little kids for me. since it's conference call monday. and lance is unavailable for anything on monday's .

should be interesting .

SO have a FABULOUS monday.

leave me lots of comments so i have something to read on my phone while i'm at jury duty.

and FYI black friday ads are up for Kmart, Target, Kohls, and more here plus special sales.

Dresses are fabulous! Girls look pretty, boys look handsome! YAY for your mom helping get kids ready for church!!

YIPPEE for all the kiddos behaving & singing for the program! I can just envision Joy's unhappiness because Ashley can definitely change her attitude in an instant too!

oh my gosh! I remember Pierce flinging the candy bar during the baptism! I could've died laughing! I wasn't much help keeping the kids quiet cuz I couldn't stop giggling! hahahaha At least this time it was only a fruit snack! But still had me laughing out loud when i read it! tee hee :)

Have fun at jury duty tomorrow! Just told Ben that he's going to have a buddy there - YOU! LOL Hope you both get dismissed! He's thinking the same *fake prejudice* comments. Nah, he would never actually do it. Just cross his fingers & hope with every question that somehow he answers wrong!

My kids wave like dorks. I wave right back.

Your description of your kids on the stand totally reminds me of the Herdmans in Best Christmas Pageant Ever! heeeheeeheee I love your kids...they have so much personality. Mimi would fit RIGHT in.

Love the dresses!

Did you know you're excused from Jury duty because you're the care provider for young kids? You just write yourself exempt on that paper they send you, then send it back in. Don't even have to show up.

Brian has jury duty today, also. He's in Superior Court in Mesa. How funny! Good luck! I hope you guys don't get picked for a boring trial!

Wow! Everyone looks so beautiful and handsome. Love the dresses.

I just love your illustrations! I have a nephew who threw a hymn book at the ceiling of the chapel durnig a Primary program. After that, my kids look like angels. I love my wild relatives. Although, on my husband's side, we are the wild relatives.

My two-year-old waits until the old man that usually sits in front of us falls asleep and then throws his sippy cup at him. Charming!

I can so relate to so much of what you have it. You just make me laugh!

Love the dresses. I still need to make Laynas.

We had our primary program yesterday too. I stupidly gave my 6 year old gum right before. He chewed his gum the whole time like a COW..and made silly faces and cracked us up the whole time.

Cute cute dresses, and I love the black shirts....I also love the black tie with the black shirt. Very handsome. I'm sure the bows will be great as well! I always have intentions to get the matching bows done and never do.... ;)

Too funny about the flying fruit snack! My almost 3 year old, who used to be so good at church, has become quite the monster recently. I wish I knew what the deal was with the late-blooming, but I wish she would stop!!! The older kids are finally starting o act better, and I thought I was in the clear, since she has been so good int he past....but no.....

First off....LOVE those dresses! So awesome! You're kiddos are all so cute in that picture....good for you getting a pic of all the kids dressed up! :) And Primary programs...I totally love them! I think they are so funny to watch and listen too...we had ours a few weeks back and my kids waved like crazy and Cam sang louder than anyone else! They even both knew their parts and didn't need any help....ah, the sign of good motherhood right? Fun fun! :)
