HOT DOG! i think we may have a winna this year-Pinewood derby cars 2009

first off we have Peyton's car.
this is his LAST pine wood derby.

he went with a traditional car this year.

which is different for him,
since in the past he's had a Skateboard,
and then last year the red swingline stapler.

and here is Paxton's first Car.

he wanted to do something fun
so he has a Hot Dog with ketchup , mustard and relish.
of course everyone had to have a bite...
liberty
Lance
and Paxton

HMMM i think it's a Wiener!

~~

Lance did our boy's cars last night with them at my sisters house.

(they have all the cool tools)

until 11 pm!

she did the ketchup and mustard and broke up some macaroni beads for the relish.

GENIUS I TELL YOU!

I painted Paxton's car today, and mod podged the relish on.

Then I kind of messed up Peyton's decals, but you can't tell because that part is behind the wheels anyway.

check this out...

we have 5 more derby cars to make in our future.

2 for Paxton and 3 for Pierce in a few years.

not that bad considering my brother has 4 boys , and he just did his 1st of 12 cars.

maybe having girls is a good thing.

~~

so have you done your pinewood derby cars yet?

did you already race?

how did ya do?

are you a last minute car maker?

or do you prepare in advance?

First of all I LOVE those cars. How fun!! We just did our first car ever and Layne has had lots of fun with Lightning getting it ready to go and I made sure there would be no last minute stuff going on here. It would have fell on my shoulders and frankly I'm clueless.

Ahhh, yes the Pinewood Derby, I unfortunately err I mean I'm so lucky to get to do like 12 of these! We just did our first a couple of months ago. Here's a link to the post I did http://growingupgrover.blogspot.com/2009/01/derby.html It went pretty well, won one, middle of the road in others. I think he was just happy because he liked his car. Your boys cars are pretty dang cool. Good luck. We are so last minuters, dad was painting it the day of...

They look great! I hope they win a lot of races too :) We have 10 more cars to make, but it is fun for us (even if it gets down to the wire). I'd like to make some fun ones like yours sometime... maybe Garrett will be into that kind of car! Good luck tonight!!

Loved the cars!! My son took second in his pinewood derby this year! It took his 2 older brothers to go through before we had a big win!!!
