The Wisdom to know the Difference.

The other day i stopped at an upscale boutique between classes , in search of lunch and a look around. I'd heard of the store but never been there myself.

After a look through the whole store, the one thing that stuck with me was a sign I found, it was wood with vinyl lettering (in a fabulous font and crystals added) that simply said,

"The Wisdom to know the difference".

I LOVED IT!

I've thought about it again and again since i saw it.

I recognized the quote as a line in the serenity prayer.

It's interesting that sign was the one thing that spoke to me. While i found furniture and amazing home decor, an assortment of bling encrusted items, and fabulous Christmas decorations (none in my color scheme). I left thinking that besides some Christmas ideas i want to duplicate myself, that sign was the best thing there.

apparently i needed to hear that. to say it. to remember the serenity prayer.

I'm in that place.

in other daily news,

~i got a speeding ticket the other day.

~I've wrestled Pierce and dragged the kid to school 2 days this week, AND once screaming through the store while lugging my ginormous purse, and pushing a bike. So my arms feel like they've gotten a really great workout.( you know, the day after ache) My left arm is going to have a rocking bicep soon if we keep this up.

~the basement toilet flooded because it was clogged with the light up part of a flash pop, a bouncy ball and a Popsicle stick. while i was gone so the hubs had to take care of it. (lucky me)

~yesterday i got 100% on another math test and both of the assignments i did just before that. yay me.

~last night the hubs and i saw "the blind side" which i loved.

i still haven't put up a tree yet. because I'm still in search of a white tree, and funds to buy it. plus i still want to paint the front room.

Today I'm thankful for the wisdom to know the difference.

When was the last time you got a speeding ticket?

do you have any feelings about the Serenity prayer?

would you like to have a 3 year old?

are you secretly relieved when disasters have happened while you were gone and your spouse had to deal with it?

Love that quote!! (I'm dying to know where you went...email me the 411!)

Congrats on the awesome math grades!

I have never gotten a speeding ticket.

I don't know the whole serenity prayer, but I'm thinking I need to go read it. I need some serenity.

I have a three year old. Some days I consider giving him away.

YES! And not always just secretly. Because seriously, most of the time they happen to ME. So I think he deserves it on the remote chance that it happens to him. :)

I have always loved that quote, but the last line is so nice. very great!

good job on math, one of my favorite subjects.

we keep getting photo radar but we haven't been served, so we are ignoring them.

May last speeding ticket was a year ago, but I did deserve it. Last Christmas Eve I got a red light ticket which was absolutely bogus to me. Ever since, I drive like a jerk(meaning slow and slamming my brakes for yellows).

I had two 3 yrs-old, and I am done.

No. I feel bad for Jodi when disasters happen, as it always seems to when I'm gone.

Yeah, I secretly like it when stuff happens to the hubs instead of me.

Speeding ticket? A long, long time ago. Like more than 15 years. And I hope I didn't just jinx myself. I did however get a ticket for rear-ending a woman when traffic all of a sudden came to a standstill on the freeway a couple of years ago.

I saw white Christmas trees at Super Walmart today and thought of you.

I love that last line, too. Very cool. I'm curious where you were....

We had a white tree growing up. They are the most Christmasy to me because of it.

Last speeding ticket was about 5 years ago. Before that it had been about 8 years. Previous to that, I had about 10 in a two year period. I was born with a lead foot. What can I say?

I got a speeding ticket in 1992 and had to go to traffic school the day AFTER my wedding reception.

My mom had the serenity prayer on a plaque in the family room. She went to OA (overeaters anonymous) growing up.

At the baptism on Thursday I was secretly enjoying that I had to little ones to shush and entertain or worry about....

Bob took all the boys to Cali once and one of them threw up in the car.....I had to clean out the smell and aftermath but he had to clean up the majority of it :).

What store were you at? A chain or a cool one town store?
I used to have the Serenity Prayer in my room as a child...and quite frankly I had it memorized except for the last few lines.
I wouldn't say I'm happy when things go down in flames on the hubs but I will say that I rather hear about a toilet clog over the phone then to be the one actually having to shove my hand in a toilet.
Congrats on your 100%...smarty pants. :)
