Summer tans, Braces and the ever elusive red erasable pens.

Schools starts in less than two weeks. I can't believe our summer vacation is almost over. It has gone quickly and since the kids are older and more self sufficient, it is more enjoyable. Sure the house is a crazy wreck, and the teenagers turned into nocturnal creatures for a few weeks but we've had a nice relaxed summer.

We spent a couple days a week at the water park. The younger kids were game to go as often as I was willing to take them, I forced the teenagers to go once a week at minimum. they were happier if a friend could come.

I saw more friends this summer in my swimsuit than I ever have. some I'd never seen in the past 15 years and there I was in all my glory. I'm not gonna lie, it's not my favorite outfit to be seen in, and yet I went, a few days a week with the kids. I discovered,  the more I went, the easier it was for me.  I have an amazing tan and ridiculous tan lines. I feel almost confident if I wear my sunglasses, earrings and lipstick.

As the summer comes to a close, I am starting the back to school prep. I haven't shopped at all but we got braces on the 3 oldest kids today.  We went with Wright Orthodontics in Mesa, if you go, give them my name. pretty please with sugar on top.

Peyton can't make a serious face for a picture to save him.

Next on my list of school prep is new haircuts for the kids. Liberty has an appointment for a cut and color before school starts and the boys obviously need haircuts. I spent yesterday morning Pinning trendy mens haircuts on my pinterest board, It's a hairy subject.

and after that I'm on a quest to find the ever elusive red erasable pens. They are required every year and aren't sold in the basic back to school sections or at the big box stores. I have to hit up the office supply store. I might as well suck it up and buy glue sticks and dry erase markers in bulk.

I hope your summer has been delightful.

leave me a comment and tell me all about it. I feel completely out of the loop with most of my friends. that's the only downside to summer vacation.

We have packs of red erasable pens at the local dollar store. Let me know if I can send you some. I'd be happy to!

Glad you had a good summer. Confidence is beautiful! And You rock it! Braces are no fun. My girl just got them off a week ago. Good luck getting back to school stuff. We are not ready to go back. Summer goes by too fast!
Take care.
