I guess, i'll fill ya in on today's appointment
SO I went to the endocrinologist, she is very nice but appointments there take forever!
I made great time getting there though, so nice to be on this side of the 60 again.
anyway, i talked to her about the biopsy, she hasn't gotten her copy of the report yet, and i didn't have one yet either, hate that, so i told her what the surgeon told me, negative. and then i say i really have issues with conflict with the surgeon, and she told me my next option is to go to Sloan Kettering in NY, or Texas to MD Anderson. TO get a 2nd or 3rd opinion. Those are both the leading hospitals that deal with thyroid cancer, anyone else is a waste of time at this point. Otherwise, we can wait, do another ultrasound in August, maybe another Pet scan in the fall and see what happens. I am leaning towards ignoring all of it, and leaving it be. I have had it! the Dr. didn't say whether it was really necessary or not, I think she is giving the safest option, and leaving it up to me. Great! I stopped and got a copy of the biopsy pathology report, and it was just lymph node stuff, clumped together. IT did say if there was a chance of metastatic cancer(cancer that has spread) it should be removed or actually "EXCISED". But since it didn't have thyroid cells it was negative, to the surgeon. SO I have 3 choices,#1 leave it, and assume I am cured,#2 travel out of state for another opinion,#3 wait until august and follow up with more tests. what would you do? Lance says it is my decision, and i just don't know what to do. I go to 1 dr. and he says it is nothing, i go to another and she says go get another opinion. I really need some retail therapy.

That is tough!! If you wait til Aug, that is only 2 months and then get more tests that might help. I don't know if I would travel all over, having to find babysitters for my kids. Good luck. Sorry I am not more help.
This is what I would do....First, go shopping. Tomorrow if not sooner. Second, pray hard. We will pray for you to get answers, too! Third, while you're waiting for an answer, go shopping again. Sometimes I am inspired while I'm driving in the car by myself, so you might as well go somewhere fun.
I like the shopping idea!! I think I would wait until August and see but I'm pretty laid back about doctor stuff.
i say go get a pedicure. Then shop until you drop!!
how did you know i really need a pedicure? my poor cute toes are all ruined from swimming!
I agree with Tam on the praying part. I am not too laid back with the whole cancer thing, but I haven't had cancer, so I don't know what it's like. But I would probably shop and then get a second opinon...I am always ruled by how much things cost though, so basically I'm not much help! I'd start with the praying!
I'm a dork...
When I said I'm ruled by how much things cost, I meant the second opinion. If it's covered by insurance, I'd do it!
I would definatly do the shopping thing as well as the pedicure. (My husband loves pedicures) But most of all pray. He will not lead you astray and will give way better advice than any of us can. We will pray for you to.
