i need something to make me laugh!
and that MOM2my6pack-ebay celebrity, while funny really only is telling me how my life is. not so funny, just reality with six kids. her grocery shopping story, yeah done that often, but don't bother telling it, who wants to hear how i lecture before we leave the car, or threaten in the store? She tells it so well but it isn't a good time. but i do enjoy knowing other people suffer the same affliction as me, err, i mean have the same delightful reality raising six wonderful and well behaved children. HA!
the clothing one and picking your battles? yeah love that one. but clothing in our house is like a communist party, I am the head NAZI, i pick it out, they wear it, end of discussion , no freedom of choice on that in my house, it is a dictatorship and they better salute! i have no patience for silly outfits, they all know what matches and what doesn't. Lance on the other hand needs help picking out an outfit that matches, but generally the kids have no problem, and if they do i make a sibling help. I just love to hear Peyton lecturing someone on their outfit and how "that doesn't match" or JOY going through the closet and saying "that is tacky","that is cheap"! and "eww no dad, that doesn't match!"
and I am a nazi about having your hair done! having it done is not a choice. i am super mean about it. actually i have gotten more relaxed about it since i had #5 or was it the cancer? just because curling it everyday was overrated. and really people made fun of me with their poofy bangs. but if i want them to wear a bow, they are wearing that dag-um bow! take it out and I'll just keep putting that fricker back in. and the boys, ask me to comb their hair, and wig out if i forget to groom them before school, i do everyone's hair. Lance isn't allowed to help either, he even asks me to do his. seriously seven kids here, not just the six i gave birth to.
HOPE throws a major fit though if she wants to wear a dress, and i am trying to put pants on her. my girls are all dress wearers. and i have of course mentioned JOY and HOPE trash talking each other about not being cute, "I'm cuter than you," and "that's ugly!" "No! you're ugly!" fights. really it is super snotty, and i don't encourage it but on occasion it works to my benefit if someone doesn't want to cooperate, I tell them" well",and i know this is horrible, "if you wanna be the ugly sister today i guess you don't have to have your hair done." or "maybe JOY wants to wear this cute outfit, you can just wear those pajamas all day." then she is all over it, begging for the grooming and dressing. some people just need a little nudge in the right direction, others need a shove!
oh and i take it back i just checked her blog again and laughed out loud! she really is great and impressive! and too dang funny! gosh i wish i could grow up to be like her. but it really does ring so true for me. but she has funny stuff i don't have.AND she has national attention! i am green with envy~!

I am laughing out loud and may wake up my children!!!!
Can I just say, if you need a laugh, check out little jill's blog. She has some "questionable artwork" that will make your day!
Love the grooming nudges. Maybe I can try that...
She is funny. I read her blog daily. I heard her on a radio interview and she sounded so young and calm. Not like I imagined her voice in my head at all!
Her blog is hilarious! I love it as I love yours! I am telling you I have started to count Jeff as one of the kids, heck he is as helpless (if not more) than Corbin, that qualifies him as another "kid" I have to take care of.
That is so awesome that you are teaching them to match! Kennedi loves dresses & getting her hair done. Can't say the same for Kelsey! I need to have Paige take pictures of her girls closet. She has all their outfits together, two hangers attached with a ribbon. So, even her 3 year old knows what goes with what.
