i need to leave the house!

insanity is setting in. it has been a few days i've stayed home all day and not gone out at night . and yeah i need to get outta this house before i go postal on everyone!

it all began as soon as the kids walked in the door, suddenly the house was so loud, everyone bickered, and then whined about homework and chores. i don't know why they whine, if they don't do 'em there are consequences, but what do i care. they have to go to bed at 7:30 if they haven't done their homework, and 8:00 if they haven't done a chore. and if they do both the chore and the homework they can stay up until 8;30, this is lances rule.but if they haven't done their homework , even if they did a chore, they have to go to bed at 7:30 since homework is the most important. i would still like to make them go to bed at 8:00 no matter what. Lance figures they don't settle down before that anyway, which is somewhat true but I'd like to think the earlier bed time would give me some earlier peace and quiet. and just in time for my shows. but yeah they haven't started yet. so for a few more weeks, it is a non issue..

and we used to do the whole hang out in your room , i dont' wanna see you , just read, or wuiet time in their room, but lance lest Peyton out to supervise the Lord of the rings playing, which then brings Paxton out, then whoever catches wind they are out. stupid! I'm getting tired of that addiction.

does everyone else have to fight about this stuff?

Ok, this was a perfect post for me! Friday I told MIke if I don't get out of the house today I'm going to lose it big time! His truck his been in the shop so we have been sharing a car until Friday late afternoon.
And, today I worked & really wasn't around my kiddos that much and they were driving me crazy tonight. I think we all have crazy days like that.

I just take a vacation at home when I feel like that - only do the minimum. "Oh, sorry there's no clean silverware honey, maybe I can take care of that next week when I get back from vacation." (All said while lying on the couch with my feet up, reading.) Of course, that's only enjoyable once you've sent the most annoying people to spend the afternoon in their rooms.

I soooo know what your're talking about. Homework is hard and it's long and it's just as much work for me as it is for her and you have 3? 4? doing homework???!!! Bless you my child....bless you!

Our kids are still relatively young, but everyone goes to bed at
7pm. We let them read a book or have one small non noisy toy Ie: a doll or truck. It is magic:):)They wind down on their own and put themselves to sleep. My Sister does this to, but at 8pm. Her oldest is 14. They are not allowed to play w/one another and have consequences if they do.I am telling you magic. I get the entire evening to do what I please w/in reason!!

I've totally been thinking the same thing!! I have been home way too much lately = no motivation to do anything around here! Nice how it is 11:38 right now and my 2 year old can't seem to go to bed!!! He keeps getting up and asking for chocolate milk!??!

I am sooooo glad I don't have the bedtime issue quite yet.. I put Bentley to bed whenever I feel like it.. I really have it easy right now, so I will enjoy every minute of it.. Good luck today, hope you have a better, more sane day.. :0)

Our bedtime is 8 now, no matter what, I would rather have them in their room with the door closed than up running around. And now if Corb is good he gets to stay up in his bed an extra half hour reading a book or playing a little handheld game or whatever, but they both are outta my hair! And then shortly after they are in bed that is when I run my errands by myself, Target, WalMart, the mall whatever!

Too late for me! I waited too long to have a night off! I lost it the other night; then I get to go fix all the hurt feelings I caused. So fun!

Awww...sounds all too familiar! When my kids get home from school they can't watch tv or play on the computer until their homework is done. Our routine is: Walk in door, wash hands(yucky school germs can make us sick, therefore = no fun) empty lunch boxes and refill water bottles and put in freezer, and do homework. Doesn't always go as smoothly as that, but that's the plan. they don't always do their homework right away, but there is nothing else to do until they have it done. And as for bedtime, 8:00 is it! And it's 7:30 if they had a rough time getting up in the morning or if they are defient and rude to me. And in the winter it is 7:30. My kids need their sleep. Oh and before they go to bed they have to pick out there clothes for the next day, down to the exact socks and shoes they want to wear. That saves a lot of time and yelling in the morning! I swear I'm not as much of a nautzee as it sounds. I don't even know how to spell nautzee. LOL
