kids say the funniest things.....
while learning to fine art of cleaning the bathroom on Friday i heard a couple funny things from my kids.....
Peyton said, "wow, cleaning the toilet is the coolest chore, i wanna do this instead of the emptying the dishwasher. "
Peyton again, after cleaning the mirror? "wow, clean mirrors ARE better than dirty ones, i can actually see myself!"
I loved hearing "It's my turn to scrub the toilet" from all of them.
Hope kept saying " i scrub it, i scrub it! It my turn! " she is 3 gotta love it!
Paxton who is generally the first one to ditch out on helping with chores, said "can i scrub the bathtub? " and then........"it's my turn to spray it! you already got to scrub the lid! " .
I think the favorite part was spraying the scrubbing bubbles stuff! have you ever used that? I loved to spray that stuff as a kid too, and hey if it makes cleaning a thrill I am totally buying it!
and i am totally putting cleaning the bathroom into my arsenal of kid chores! that they can actually do well. like fold towels, take out the garbage and recycle, empty the dishwasher, and pick up toys/trash/laundry! oh and vacuuming! they can do that too! I have stuff for a super cute family chore chart, i really need to get on it and finish it! I'll take a picture of it when i eventually get to it. maybe after school starts!

Sweet G cleans all the bathrooms every Saturday. And does an INCREDIBLE job! (I even won some plastic dish gloves with leapord print fabric sewed on to the ends at a bunko which she proudly wears as she cleans!!!) She tried mopping once, but learned really quickly how much work that actually is. She opted out of that one the next time!
Those are too funny! BTW--totally know what you mean by free reign on the techno stuff to keep them out of your hair--I just told my son to go put on a movie! Ü
I can not wait unil my kids are old enough to do more!! I am grateful for what they do now. Cute little funnies from your kids. Gotta love discovery!!!
cant wait to see the new chore chart. Mine is a piece of paper with their chores printed off. WooWOO!! I love that my kids do bathrooms. I hate to do them, so why not pass it on? My kids will clean the toilets with the scrubbing bubbles wands. Then they dont get their hands all gross. I think the key to getting them excited to clean to is cool cleaning products! Yeah!
That is awesome that they are excited about cleaning something.
That is great that they are excited about cleaning! I remember loving that bubble bathroom cleaner when I was younger!
Julie, amen to having 6 kids and having them HELP with the cleaning! (Well, at least 5 of them). I've been wanting to make a chore chart too, so please post yours once you complete it so I can get some ideas!
I love Scrubbing Bubbles, too. Boo loves to help clean, too, but sometimes it's more hassle than it's worth! But I love that he wants to help, and that I'll come downstairs and he'll be washing the kitchen floor, or dusting without me having asked. He actually just went and took all the garbage from all the garbage cans and emptied them for me. Enjoy it while it lasts - my 11 year old doesn't think it's so great anymore.
That is so awesome that they were fighting to clean!! Love it when kids help out, you are a super mom for teaching them.
Hilarious!!! Glad your kids are so enthused to help clean! Can they spread that a bit over here?? Well, I guess I can say Jaden does love to help clean and cook too. But dang, my kids fighting over it?? That would be the day!!
I am huge huge fan of making my kids clean. They love to clean the bathroom too. Growing up I was the my Dad and I were the only cleaners in the family. So I've had my fair share! btw do remember the scrubbing bubbles comercial? Loved it as a kid!
That is too funny!! You got lucky cause my Mom didn't get any cleaning kids. We all hated ALL chores...although that didn't stop her from making us :) I don't think we had scrubbing bubbles. Maybe that's the key!
What is it about using products that gets kids excited about cleaning? I'm glad your kids are helping out. Great job teaching!
What's your secret?? this is a total break thru for mother's every where!
