can i say , i feel bad for my little sister. and we have work to do today.

My sister Maria, is a teacher, she had a contract for 1st grade at a school nearby but fully in the ghetto. anyway, her class was decorated, cute and put together for the year. Last week the district came back saying enrollment was not where they thought it should be and they were re-organizing the different schools putting teachers into schools where there were too many students in each room and taking out classes where there wasn't enough. well Maria had to move grades (up to 2nd) at her same school at least, but still move classrooms re decorate and start over with a new team and a new class. this many weeks into the school year. DANG! it sucks, i feel bad for her. and today is the day she has to re-do the classroom.
so my mom, my sister and my aunt (all retired teachers ) are all going to put her class together. i am keeping her boys. the ones that are perfect for my boys to play with. her husband is keeping her younger ones. they are perfect to play too, but i think she felt bad about saddling me with 10 kids for the day but if i needed to, i could hack it. we just wouldn't go anywhere. or plan on getting anything done.

our plans for the day include :
(in no particular order) and with two bonus kids.

  • a trip to Costco, PIZZA for lunch. or dinner depends on how fast we get going.
  • Cleaning the ward building
  • doing the backyard (i wish we had a lawn guy) or bigger kids to do it. ;-)
  • i had wanted to get to the basement as a family and clean it. i figure i didn't make the mess, and i want help if i am cleaning it. still nasty from the summer.
  • the playroom needs re-organized and cleaned.
i have yet to recover from the summer. and it would be fabulous if Lance helped with that. too. instead of playing Lord of the Rings all day.

the boys are grounded from the computer today! and i have to say whoohoo! i like it when they go play outside and play with other people. instead of sitting on the computer, hogging it and fighting over whose turn it is. and then talking strategy every minute they aren't actually playing. (like all through dinner, talking about what has sold and how many "golds"they have. and who is getting a pony/horse.)

I feel bad for your sister, too! That's a lot of work! Nice of you to take her kids. And sad to have to lose the kids you already had! Boo's class had to lose 6 kids to a new teacher because so many people have moved in since school started. Crazy! I'm just glad he got to stay with the teacher he has because she's fabulous!
