tomorrow big plans for service.

Tomorrow we signed up to clean the church building, each ward rotates every 3rd month, and we stupidly signed up. my mom thought it was crazy and said ,"yeah you shouldn't sign up for that if you can't even keep your own house clean." i thought that made good sense but it is too late. our family is cleaning the building tomorrow, the kids love it and it gives them a sense of pride, having done it and seeing it clean the next day for church. our house is always a pit, what's new? but the church will be ready for Sunday thanks to our little family doing our part tomorrow! yay!

oh and i had that calling (to organize the building cleaning every 3rd month, and i was my most taxing calling ever! no one would sign up, no one wanted to be asked, and that left it to us, more often than not it was lance with another family, or me and lance alone with Peyton and liberty in the stroller. and me prego. it was lame. so now we sign up even if our house goes forever with out being cleaned. we are doing our part to help keep our building clean and get it ready for Sunday meetings.

if there is a sign up going around, sign up! do your part! if i can do it, you can too! teach your kids how to give service in the church young, and let them help , they are thrilled to have vacuumed their own primary classroom. or washed the windows. or dust the pews. lessons are learned, service is given and pride is earned in a job well done! next time, don't let that sign up pass you by! do it! make that persons calling a little easier and do your part! hope everyone has a great Saturday! and everyone gets a nap and sleeps in, and think of me, while you do that. i will be jealous! but enjoy it for me. we deserve it! we rock!

What a great lesson of service you are teaching your kiddos! And, it does make a difference when you have been on the other side. I used to have to line up speakers for stake baptisms. So many would never get back to me, or just flat out say NO!

several years ago i signed up to help clean the church before Easter Sunday. i ended up on my hands and knees, with the pastor's wife, scrubbing the fellowship hall with bleach. it is a memory i will never forget. in a good way. we had the very best time ever!!

hope you have a very blessed day cleaning God's house! :)

I think it is wonderful that your family will be serving today. To me, there is no better lesson for our little one's. Your post has inspired me to talk to the person in the ward, that in charge of our building. I am going to sign my family up! :) I am in YW's, and haven't seen a sign up for cleaning the building in forever. Happy Cleaning! :)

Have fun cleaning the building. Our turn is in Sept, the Primary is in charge so we are automatically signed up. I think it will be good for the kids.

I remember how hard it was to get people to clean the building when I was in a YA ward and it was not my calling!! That is awesome that you are so willing to serve.

I have been in this ward for over a year and have NEVER seen a sign up sheet to clean the Church. We did that in our last ward and everyone loved it! You are right. They do get a sense of pride in cleaning it. Way to go W Family! You guys are awesome!!!

Good for you! I think that's great that the kiddos love it. And way to inspire other people. Maybe with any luck you'll still get a nap in!
