manamanah! how many people fly here anyway?
yeah not so much but i have been making silly songs up and annoying Lance! it is my favorite hobby tonight!
so he has been reading my blog and essentially critiquing it. saying i am posting too many downer posts. i thought i had been doing fairly well, posting about my usual nothingness. in my normal honest way. hmm. and i have come to the conclusion i need to give fly lady another chance and perhaps document my progress, here on the blog. maybe some accountability wouldn't hurt. and i know many of my fellow bloggers adhere to her methods themselves. so it is worth a shot.
and i still love my blog template. I'd really enjoy some black and white dots in addition to my fuchsia diamonds. so if you have seen any feel free to direct me to them. so i can add something new and delightful to my blog template. i am adding some delightful miss Tangie creations soon too! so keep an eye out for some new flair!
have you ever seen office space? " wanna see my flair? " i even own my own red swingline stapler! a la MILTON!
i kinda went shopping tonight at ROSS but found nothing to purchase. i was in hope of finding something to wear tomorrow, to church. but alas since i had a couple bucks to spend , that weren't already allotted, there was nothing to purchase! it happens to me often. i did find some delightful housewares but didn't think that would fly just yet. so i will go back another time to purchase something of that nature in the future! maybe i will get myself a reward for doing fly lady . yes i think a bribe would do nicely! yay! I'll start with the baby steps tomorrow! gotta shine my sink anyway!
so do you do flylady? have you in ever tried it?
have you seen office space? and did you enjoy it?
have you ever gone shopping with some money to spend and not been able to find anything delightful?
do you wear relief society dresses to church? like the older ladies? or do you go casual/funky?
where do you stand on flip flops to church?
**edit for more musings along these lines after reading some comments**
on fly lady-
yes i too have an issue with being dressed head to toe before i leave my room, since all my clothes are still hanging in the laundry room!
and hmm pedicure?! i wear flip flop sandals but they have a kitten heel, so i don't consider them to have the comfort of a flip flop . but i guess the between the toe styling. now i am wondering if my feet look sick all the time! has anyone noticed? would you tell me please?! i just figure no one notices my feet. did you notice?
and on the dresses, i go between relief society styling, long, old lady styling like your mom would wear and casual, sometimes we have casual Sunday at our house, and i wear a funky denim skirt and normal top. with jewelry of course. but i could wear that same outfit to the mall or dinner too. or even at home. but then again i don't wear very casual clothes at home. no sweats, no pajama pants. my house dresses are regular dresses. i just wouldn't wear them to church. i think i might be weird about it. but ya know it is my prerogative!
and on casual Sunday i have the girls wear dresses that are more casual than they normally wear which are big froufrou numbers with satin and sheer and ruffles and whatever their church dresses have(generally formal wear/flower girl dresses) . and let them wear cotton or fancier slinky knit, never super casual, but i have major opinions about little girls dresses. what lots of people think are fine for church are totally play/school dresses to me. not that i am snobby about it. i just have abnormally high standards about church dresses. it is another of my OCD issues. have you noticed my OCD all involves clothing? i wonder why that is? ok now this is a novel . have a good Sunday. we are ditching. i woke up with a sore throat and a snuffy head. and since pierce has pink eye, we are sparing everyone else, even though he touches no one, or goes anywhere other than my lap. i figured it made my excuse to ditch a little stronger. whatever!

Well, considering how swollen my feet have been, it's been only flip-flops since May ... and only 2-3 to choose from cause not even all my flip flops will go on. I don't let Marina wear flip-flops. Either way, you gotta do something with your toenails ... I hate it when people show their toenails at church and they're not takin' care of them.
I don't think you've been too negative, you're just being real and you. Haven't heard about fly lady until now. Let us know how that goes. As far as RS Dresses - um, no. Have to be trendy and fashionable. And flip flops to church? Don't really like that look. The only time I've worn them is if they have a clean chunky heel and have beads and frou-frou on them. I don't think they look right in church unless you're prego like Becky and have no other options, and like she said have had a pedicure. I mean at least paint your nails and throw some lotion on those heels! I also don't think it's appropriate for younger girls to wear mini skirts or t-shirts that have writing on them to church.
LOL, yes I have tried Fly Lady there are some things I love and others I will never do (like being dressed from head to toe before leaving my room. BUt I love picking up the house before bed so I wake up to a clean house.
Office Space~ LOVE IT! It is one of our favorites! Love to see your flair, are all your reports done?
I don't even currently own a dress right now, all about the skirts and shirts. I use to wear flip flops when I was in nursery cuz I went bare foot anyways, but now I wear more proper shoes.
I tried fly lady I think last year but never stuck with it. That's a great idea to report what you have done on your blog!
Looove the movie 'Office Space'!
I just got a new dress for church but, still don't feel like going today. I say trendy & fashionable for relief society.
Oh ya and Mike has been critiquing my blog as well. I told him if he can't say anything nice don't say anything at all!
I think I am the only person on the planet that has not seen The Office (it's somehwere on my to do list). I have never checked out FLY lady, but this lady in our ward LOVES that site and uses it ALL the time! I'll have to give it a look! I went shopping at Ross on Friday and found too much stuff that I didn't need and bought all of it! We'll see how much I end up returning! Ü I don't know what I look like at church!? Not as cute and fashionable as most of my ward...I own like one skirt and one church shirt (ok, maybe 2 of each)...it's kind of embarrasing when a 15 year old boy asks if you have any other clothes. I just keep telling myself when I loose weight I can buy new clothes, but it's not happening, so I might as well just go buy some!!! As for flip flops...I don't wear the kind you wear to the beach/pool, but I do have some nicer ones...closer to the "sandal" catergory that I wear quite frequently. Oh and I love that Lance reads your blog...I don't even think David knows how to get on to ours!
Have to clarify. I don't mind flip flops that are more like sandals. Those are cute. But the real flip flops you wear to the beach or around the house every day I don't like at church. Or sweatshirt type jackets. I don't think it has to be a fashion show, but I think it's good to show the right respect for where you are. And I say wear whatever you're comfortable in, that still looks nice. I don't mind casual denim skirts for church. Especially if you're dealing with kids or in the nursery. Hope I didn't offend you or anyone else! And I haven't noticed your feet!!
I have to say that for me and mine, no flip flops. I specifically bought new shoes when I was prego to avoid the flip flops to church.
Have you found that it's getting difficult to find cute dresses as your girls get older? Everything is sleeveless, or looks like it was meant for a 20 year old, but just shrunk!?
I hate that.
I have to agree with others...not too negative around here!
(And I think I saw a black and white polka dot on Lindsey's blog, didn't I?
Ditto Tam and Onehm!
i have 2 dresses and then i mostly have shirts. and i usually wear my black sandals that i wear everyday. i will occasionally break out the heels but they usually are peep toe or wedge.
love office space.
oh i did flylady...most days i would just read the reminder and other days i would actually do it. i think it can work, but i was not in the right frame of mind. plus i am not gonna get dressed just to clean the house!
I do my own version of flylady. I read her book and Sidetracked Home Executives (where she got her ideas) and came up with my own system. I do believe in putting on your shoes. I get so much more done when I have lace ups on. I want to get dressed but then I tend to ruin my clothes with cleaning products. So I usually wear crap clothes. What I would really love to do is by cute at home outfits from Target so that I don't talk negative to myself on the at home cleaning days.
TOTALLY LOVE FLY LADY! Do I always do it? well that's another thing. I hate hate hate shoes (wearing them I love to buy them)so it is very hard for me to dress all the way to the shoes however it does work better.
Love office Space.
I tend to always have toes done.
Way into skirts I own very few dresses now a days.
Flip flops are NOT for church! Cute sandal type yes!
I love your posts and definitley just real not to negative. Just my opinion though:)
Oh man - I used to do FlyLady all the time & was really good at it... But I let it slack a little and had this huge accident & wished I had listened to FlyLady's advice about wearing shoes!! I dropped a HUGE wooden cabinet off of my garage wall on my foot! I was wearing flip-flops!! OUCH! I lost my big toe-nail & broke toes & had wood chips & paint coming out of my toe for months (okay, a little gross, I'm sorry)... Anyways, FlyLady KNOWS what she is talking about! LOL!
