Fabulous Friday!

the reason it is FABULOUS is? i have been thinking about my new years resolutions. they are pretty darn FAB!

this isn't the final draft but it is the beginning. I'll list them for you....

  1. Seek happiness in the little things - do things that make ME happy. buy things that make me happy (probably anything i see that is fuchsia that i like)
  2. stop wearing black EVERY DAY. I'm making myself wear at least one colored shirt a week. (probably fuchsia)
  3. I plan on really making that life altering weight loss surgery a reality for me this year! i will begin making Dr. appointments in January. this is my fave goal. whether it is lap band or gastric bypass my goal for the year is to make it happen. trust me when i say i qualify for it. if i have to i will pay cash! it will happen! OR at least I'll start finally.
  4. i resolve to keep the crap counter clean and clear of crap. and i don't mean poop.
i mean clutter, junk mail, school papers, catalogs, toys, etc.
  5. i resolve to get settled into my house. unpack, clean, paint, strip wall paper . make this house my own, decorate finally. (this doesn't involve fuchsia but maybe it should)
Ok so i totally set the bar low for myself. then i am more likely to succeed!

fave resolution ever? to wear fuchsia. it was 1995 senior year of high school. and i haven't stopped loving it since. it is also probably the only one i have ever followed through on.
Crazymama circa 1996 the year after the resolution to wear fuchsia
and I was out to get a guy, this is proof. don't mind my thigh.

although the year(1996) i decided i was getting married that year, it came close, technically i only got engaged. but still , i met Lance and it was coming right along -April of 1997) Oh and the year i decided i was going to have another baby, in 2000 Peyton had just turned 1 and Liberty was 4 months old. and that year along came Paxton in December of 2000. why was i surprised when i got pregnant then? somehow, i managed to be surprised.

So this is a big year. i will seek happiness in the little things. and get major surgery. this plan sounds like a keeper .

so what are your resolutions?

have you thought about it yet?

what are some of your past resolutions?

do you manage to follow through on them? if so what is your secret to that? mine is setting my goals to be retardedly easy. maybe you have a tip for me. please share it.

I haven't made resolutions yet. I need to. Maybe I'll make a resolution to make resolutions tomorrow. Love your fuchsia resolution. Totally RAD. :)

I don't think you're setting the bar too low. I think you've chosen things that will truly make you happy. I think too often people make these huge goals that don't really have a chance of happening. I think your list is great and totally do-able.

Wow, surgery is easy? Your my hero! I don't do resolutions, I never manage to follow through so I don't worry about it.

I do like a few of yours, especially wearing more fuchsia.

What do you mean you set the bar low? Those are great goals. And the surgery is pretty major. Good luck with everything. Enjoy the color, especially the fuchsia!
I haven't set any goals yet, I need to sit down and do that. Although I don't stick to my goals very well and I have to reset them throughout the year.

Good for you! I figure New Years is still over 3 days away . . . it can wait. But now I'll have to ponder my goals. I don't know of any tricks but I think you are on the right track by making them reasonable for you - that will help! I see a shopping trip in the future with your 'new look'! YEA! I'm so there!! Shopping with you always rocks!! FUN!!

I wear black alot too! I do not like any form of pink, so I have started buying teal and forest green to add some color. Of course that is only shirts because I am ALWAYS in jeans or sweats. I am pretty boring! LOL

Good luck with the surgery! I am in the process of deciding about the Lapband Surgery. I went to the intro meeting that is required. Two things did not sit well with me. That lapband is in you FOREVER. It is around your stomach with a tube that comes to your skin where a port is that they add and take out the saline. Also, you have to change your diet SO Much. You totally have to give up ALL sugar and carbs (breads, pastas, etc...) I kept thinking OF COURSE you are going to loose weight when you have to give that up! If you eat that stuff, you will get REALLY sick, more if it is gastric bypass. Plus, you have to go through counseling. Well if I went to counseling for my food addiction, why would I need surgery? Plus, you HAVE to exercise regularly. The meeting was very informative though. Good luck with the process! LMK if you have any questions about it. If you want to try it on your own, I highly recommend Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds. She even has a family one where kids are walking with her. My kids do it with me... even the twins. When we march in place, it is SO cute to watch them. After Olivia, I lost 30 lbs in 6 months just walking 3 miles a day 5 days a week.

My goals are the same as last year. I'll list them on my blog in a couple of days.

I think those are great goals! I think the big key to actually sticking to them is that you have to write them down & put them somewhere you will see them like everyday! So hang it on your mirror or something to be constantly reminded of what you're working on. I have a hard time sticking to mine sometimes. I try to make only a couple, like one spiritual, one physical, and one about the house. Like reading my scriptures more, losing weight, and trying to keep up on laundry. Clearly I didn't accomplish any of those goals last year. So, this year has to be my year of sticking to it!

I think they are great goals. I want to lose the baby weight and the 10lbs I just gained over Christmas...

My step sister and step mom have both gotten the lap band. That's the way I would go.

I'm avoiding any thoughts of resolutions.

Are you insane, sister? Gastric bypass????????????????????????? YOU?????? Get real. We all have some cheese on our thighs. You are NOT (i repeat not) a candidate for gastric bypass! (big rolling of eyeballs)

I think you should look into personal training as an alternative to your weight loss surgery. My sister was going to get lipo, and when I talked to her about personal training, she looked into it, found out it was cheaper AND she got a bigger sense of accomplishment when she reached her goals.
Just a thought!
