awards ASS-embly - pictures included

we got there after the pledge, they had just started calling names.
we slide into the second row on the side. we scope out the room for our kids. Joy is waving, Peyton peeks up and casually waves, Liberty was harder to spot on the other side of the room. and PAxton was right in front of us. even PIERCE nopticed, he was happily eating a pack of fruit snacks on Lance's Lap, well he dropped one, and Lance put him down to get it. and Pierce seized the opportunity to climb under the bench in front of us. and go sit with Paxton.

they called out the first set of names for the Winning attitude award. and my kids weren't one of them. so i begin to wonder if this assembly business was necessary, and doubt that ONE OF MY KIDS got an award?

he went up to Paxton,
gave hugs,
laid down,

FABULOUS. remember Pierce was sitting with Paxton, and i was a little worried that he might pitch a fit when he got up to receive his award. well no worries because when Paxton got up to go Pierce took his spot in the class. and sat there like he was in 1st grade too.

the second award redeemed itself when Paxton got called for Winning Worker. a winning worker- *follows directions, *does his/her best.Pierce came back on his own. thank goodness.

Liberty then got an award for being a Winning Citizen. HMMM interesting. the qualifications are
* treats others and the school with respect and * accepts responsibility. GREAT!

she was on the far side of the room. and i had to actually get up and walk to the middle , to snap a few pictures. imagine my Large A$$ on display for the WHOLE ASS-embly. no good. that and i had no time for make-up or my hair this morning. so i was looking FAB. not even my sunglasses headband to hide the wet nappy fro. or to cover my tired eyes, complete with purple bags. yeah i was feeling FOXXY! but i got a couple pictures. rad.

then came the math masters award. and holy cow. a wild card. PEYTON one too. i knew LIBERTY and PAXTON were but i wasn't informed of Peyton's. SO that worked out well. we have 3 math masters. which means they don't have timed test anxiety like their mother. which added up[ to 4 minutes of HELL FOR ME as a kid including but not limited to qa D or F on my report card in elementary school(you know back when they still gave letter grades not caring about the fragile self esteem of kids with test anxiety) . but my kids must have Lance's Math brains pass with 80% accuracy 60 math facts of addition for Paxton. addition and subtraction with 80% accuracy, in 4 minutes for Liberty. and Peyton- complete 60 addition, subtraction, multiplication in 3 minutes with 80% accuracy. and/or 60 division in 4 minutes. i don't think he does the division ones yet. once they reach mastery they move up. he might, you can tell i pay close attention.

so i got a few pathetic pictures of that.
Peyton is in green-sadly i don't think he even had his hair combed today. since i didn't think he was getting an award.
Liberty is the tall one in brown. not the one waving.
and Paxton is like greased lightening and sat down too fast. dang it.

and then there was a beat the bell thing , the class with the least amount of tardies daily, well i was feeling the heat on that. we all know we lack the ability to be on time. planning ahead the night before helps, but totally doesn't fix everything. we still have some tardies.
i felt like i was getting the EVIL EYE from a couple of my kids teachers even from across the room. i am a nut. and then it was OVER. yay.

Lance left after Liberty's award and walked home so Hope could catch her bus, so Pierce and I grabbed a program and headed home in the car at the end. whoohoo.

and i was pretty stoked to see ANDREA there . her kid is a math master too. very cool.

How nice to fit three awards into one assembly. What cute kids you have, you should be really proud! Pierce is such a crack up. I love to see pictures of him doing his own thing!

Yay for awards! And I love the pics of Pierce going to sit with his brother. I hope you accidentally scratched your head with a certain finger when you felt the heat from the teachers eyes boring into you about the tardy thing.

I have a prob with always being late too...it's hard to get ready and something always goes wrong.

Totally had me laughing about A$$ on display for the WHOLE ASS-embly. You are too funny :)

So much fun! Sweet G got an award last year (her teacher liked her then) and nothing this year (no surprise there) so I think I am off the hook for the awards assembly!!
Glad that all 3 got awards on the same day...what a treat for a sweet Mama like YOU!!! ;)

Great job to you and the kids! This looks like a great self esteem builder. I suck at math and spelling (not a shocker I know. Thank heavens for spell check)

Bet you still looked great even with out the hair and make up. We all have those days. Some of us more than others. At least no one wanted to know if you lost your make up in the mess of the remodel. LOL
