hallelujah!
the day is almost over.
wow! long day here.
i am pretty fried.
lets see. shall i list it? i know it exhausts you to read it. but i have to, i can't resist.
the 4 big kids up dressed and out the door. including hair curled with hot rollers. and ON TIME to school
today was the standardized testing at school. can't be late.
TONY GOT HERE(by 8:30) for another week of work. and today's project? the dining room. and let me tell you. nightmarish. early on. talk about demolition. i'll do pictures don't worry it's too much to explain.
so the rest of the day went like this....
got hope's hair done, dressed and off on the bus.
Pierce dressed for the day.
going to Melanie's to make JAM with her and Jenny. gathering my stuff together.
and as we are leaving my sister stopping by to see the dressing room.
we visited for a few minutes.
and off to Melanie's
where we made strawberry freezer Jam. and hello Jenny has it down to a science. she is a jam making queen! (thanks girls for letting me come too!)
and i discovered why my freezer Jam never really set up last year, apparently you have to leave it out for 24 hours before freezing it. DUH! that would explain the soupyness. it still tasted good, and was extra easy to spread. but not really jammy.
while we were there pierce got a fat lip and even jammed his tooth into his top lip,it was deep! really sad guy.
get home and grabbed Hope
and proceed to eat lunch in the car,
and drive around killing time. while Pierce napped, in the car.
i came home to the door off the wall, and I'm talking the whole door Jamb , not just off the hinges, and the window in the dining room, torn out.and made into a door way, it's just lacking a door. the carpet was pulled up, the wallpaper stripped off the ceiling. and a giant gaping WHOLE where a door will go. STILL NO DOOR! and yeah the dogs have free reign to wander in and out. but they prefer in and one keeps farting. hello dog farts reek! and of course I've never experienced one since we have outside dogs but man, outside dogs require a door to keep them out. ARGH! oh but the gaping whole, has a live wire through the middle of it, since, um yeah it was a window area. they have to move that wire around to actually install a door, to the outside dog room. I'll take pictures you haven't lived until you've seen the horror. and just after you were coveting the family closet, you won't be coveting me now. i swear.
this is looking into the kitchen towards my front door. see the table in the walk way, and the filthy floor? the drywall? not textured. the lack of arch in two doorways. and what about the nasty vinyl flooring that was under the filthy carpet? yeah CLASSY! it's a little yellow brick road! More of the vinyl! OH YEAH BABY!
this is looking into the dining room. more drywall, ripped wallpaper waiting to be stripped. and yeah that is a door laying sideways.
the door that is going here but isn't yet because of the wire . see the live electrical wire? and that fab compressor. sitting in the new door way. there used to be a window, you know the one i killed the blinds in last month, when the birds were pooping on me. yeah that window, is gone baby gone. OH and see into the dog room? FABULOUS! this is the inner sanctum where we celebrate our white trashedness. the harvest gold outside fridge. unfinished walls, and i think there is a shot of our dogs A$$. NICE!
more of the dog room.
oh and here is where the pass through used to be. that i had assorted crap piled on until a month ago, and then i was clean and decorated but it was in the way of the new door so they tore it out bright and shiny early today. and i put the water sprayer up on it. so pierce wouldn't play with it.
Oh and here you see the arch, it is staying , so nice huh? and the ceiling, that is bare drywall sheets now, and Lance is hanging out in the fridge, AND YEAH notice the two tone wallpaper.
and here is the wall where the boys practiced their demolition skills , it was patched with patching compound a couple years ago but never patched with wallpaper, which turns out is great, or we'd be stripping it off. and you can see a little of the new door way.
see i told you you wouldn't covet me now. it is nasty. and the yellow brick road has the sickest texture ever on bare feet. EWWW. Lance blocked the door way and made the dogs go out finally, they'd been farting again. SICK! i could die from the fumes.
lets see, so i killed an hour, driving around, with napping kids,
then i stopped at my mom's she was napping,
and i stopped at my brothers house, and he was on a conference call. and his wife was gone but came home before i left.
and then , i went and picked up the big kids,
we hit sonic for drinks ,
and while at sonic in the drive through, we saw my mom,and she said come over, so we did.
then my brother invited us to come to Barro's with his family, and my mom came too.
while Lance took Peyton to my sisters house to work on pine wood derby cars. and hello, the weigh in is tomorrow. yeah. a tad late starting this year. so it's 10:30 and Lance and Peyton are still gone making the car. so much for getting to bed early for testing tomorrow. RAD!
after Barro's my brother's family stopped by to see the work getting done. and then i let the kids get homework done. and eat Oreo's before bedtime. I put them to bed later than 8:30 bedtime. and now i have caught up on blogging. sorry but i finally just marked all as read, and I'll start over from here. some were a whole week old. holy crap has it been that long?
and huh, I'm tired. oh the people watching? yeah the fabulous handy uncle tony can see me wasting alot of time blogging, while i could totally be cleaning the basement, OR scrubbing toilets. SO yeah LANCE IS GETTING MAD AT ME FOR GIVING AN ACCURATE DEPICTION OF WHAT I DO OR DON'T DO whatever the case may be. and in this case i don't do housework all day. i ignore reality and blog. like that is news or something? totally not new information, AND
LANCE TOLD ME TO PRETEND I ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING, and after they are done working here i can go back to doing nothing. NICE! thanks for that.
AND keeping the kids out of the house, and out of the way is kind of expensive. now i remember why blogging saves me so much money, it keeps me home and occupied instead of out spending money. and out eating out, and out wasting gas. and can i just say it is dang hot these days. MAN is it summer time already?
oh and some people got their pay it forward prizes today. yay! if you didn't get yours yet, stop reading here. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
hairdo Jenn made this up and i stole it. hee hee! evil! yeah earrings. sterling silver wire earrings. some looked like this, some, were zig zagg-ie, and some had twisted wire. but all were one of a kind. and mostly matched each other. glad that is over. and bonus they were easy to ship! hello fabulous! if you won some take a picture of them on, and email me. so fun to see how great they look on everyone, i won't post them , i just wanna see. unless you want me to post it! that would be a fun feature.
so what kind of Monday did you have?

making fondant, baking cakes, doing laundry, dishes, watered plants, changed sheets, made dinner, blogged (you should come blog from here - no one judging here I tell ya) - fairly productive day all in all! I'm feeling the cake pressure!
Oh, and asked a date to Prom!
En espanol, no less!
♥ Those are great! Love them!
I got my earrings yesterday and they are great! I plan on doing a post about them tomorrow. MRI today!
I love strawberry freezer jam, too. I usually make it every year. This year my family hasn't eaten it as much though. I want to try other kinds.
And I agree. About dog farts and about spending too much money when you leave the house.
I would love to be where you are. You have so much excitement taking place, and even though you are frustrated at least you are beginning to get the home of your dreams to a reality. How exciting for you to be able to watch the transformation. I wish I could be where you are having beauty start to pop up all around me.
By the way, your sister Maria was in my dreams last night and you kept popping in and out of them too. CRAZY!!
I LOL about the dog farts. I know that pain.
I'm tired for you-- WOW --you do a lot!--but now I'm feeling a little guilty that I have the nerve to complain about anything!
I've asked before, How do you do it??
Truly Inspirational in Every Way Too!
Can't wait to see the house when it's done though--how exciting!
I did not read ahead as I did not get my prize yet so I was a good girl and skipped that part. I am not a person who loves spoilers.
Anyway construction is the pits. It will so nice when its over. Can't wait for you!
Oh my, that sounds super hectic! I can't imagine all that construction with all of those kiddies. What a mess! It will be wonderful when its finished though I am sure!
Awesome PIF! Gorgeous!
I'm not coveting the mess...but you will be so happy when it's done and you'll feel like you're in an all new house! At least a new look!
I'm glad to hear it's hot....We had snow here yesterday...BOOO!
We're heading south to your neck of the woods for spring break next week! Hooray, I can't WAIT to soak in the warmth! Bring it on!
It will be so nice when they are all done! and I LOVE that in that first pic that Lance (I am assuming it is him) is giving the bird!! Did you even notice that?
WHEW! You made me tired just reading it!!! GOOD for you...and I have to say that I once again am soooo thankful that we remodeled before we moved it. I'm impressed with you guys living through the mess. It's hard to do!!
;) You can always come hang out here today. We are doing laundry and just basically hanging. Maybe we could spare a few minutes to go to the park?? ;) Let me know!!
Wow, you are a busy girl! Just taming the kids while your house is under construction is a huge task!
It is going to be awesome when it is finished. Are you taking out the arch in the kitchen too?
I am just wondering how big is your house?? bedrooms, baths, etc? Do you have a basement?
This is what i did all day, cleaned up barf, washed 4 loads of laundry, watched Becoming Jane, made kids do homework and jobs, took Hailey to the DR, went wal*fart, waited in line forever, went home, had diner, & went to bed.
The ear rings are awesome!
wow, you are busy. I can't wait to see the finished projects! And "look" like you are busy!?!?! Doesn't taking care of 6 kids keep you busy enough?!?!?! I say by the time the kids are in bed you've earned your blogging time!
K, I totally noticed the "bird" in the first pic too! LOL
Ya, NOT a fun mess right now, but in the end you will be so happy I'm sure!!!
Glad you got to come and join in the jam festivities. I need to get on putting up the jam post...slacker here.
I hope Pierce's lip is better. Poor guy. I feel so bad that Easton was such a monster to him. Ugh. Now you know why we call him "Beastie". lol
Hang in there...the mess will end at some point.
I forgot, as for the dog farts, have your kids ever ate dog food??? When Whitney was 4 we had a dalmatian and she would eat the dog food too. Her fart and bm smelled just like a dog.
You are so going to love it when it's done. I totally dig the new tile, and am very jealous! I really want to redo my own floors. That would be huge.
SO what do I have to do to get the pay it forward? Is it different for the first 3 then the random girls? I will have to look at it again.
Hang in there girlie, you will love it!
Not that kind of monday - mine was way more lazy then yours. At least you got out but I spent it on the internet - mostly just watching movie previews. I figure that once a week you just need one of those days you know?
AHHHHH!!!!!!!! All that makes me want to tear my hair out!! wow you have got a mess on your hands there. can't wait for it to get done!! :)
Can't wait for all the after pictures--it's going to be so nice! Also, love the earings and LOVE the "Dressing Room" (I am totally jealous)!!
I was awakened by monster hail at 3 am and couldn't go back to sleep, so I slept after all the kids were off to school. :) Then subbed in a fifth grade class after lunch.
Holy Crap girl, take a deep breath! I got winded just reading that!! I so remember when we were finishing our basement it was like a war zone! & I had just had Brooke. NO FUN! I hate home projects just for that reason! But, you'll love it like your family closet when it's done! Hang on!!
Strawberry jam sounds so good!! Sorry about Pierce, no fun, but it comes with the age I guess.
WoW!! Your house is a really big project right now, and you are so crazy busy :)
My monday SUCKED. I've been on bedrest since last Thurs. I can get up now, but have to take it easy. Your day made me want to take a nap.
zzzzzzzz....
I Love the family dressing room. What a fabulous idea.
I dont covet your ight now, but I am sure we all will later. How exciting to have a spruced up house. Cant wait to see the finished product!
ok! i am totally laughing at Lances' comments about you doing nothing. Too funny! HEY! if the kids are alive, fed and laundry done, what more does he want right???????
omh! Dog farts...I love you!!! hahaha
Tam
Wow! That really is a BUSY day! I totally understand the "demolition" mode and hate it as well....but when it's all finished it's so worth it! I can't wait to see the after pictures!!! Hope it goes quickly and you can keep all those stinky dogs out for good! :)
I know it's so HARD living in construction or remodeling!!! The Mom's job gets even harder cuz mostly you have to just keep the kids away from the construction zone!! Some days that was all I had to do, but I think it's harder than the actual work. They just want to run around & watch or pretend to help by making messes.
I totally feel for you! It's going to be so beautiful when it's done, but getting there can be a tough road. Good LUck!!!
I could meet you at the park after school to let the kids play. That would help burn some time. Let me know :)
BTW - I LOVE my one-of-a-kind beautiful unique earrings! THANK YOU :)
♥ You've got bloggy bling! Come on over and get it! :)
