my thoughts on kite flying, and other random delights.

i have thoughts on kite flying, like that is shocking given the fact that we were kite flying fools for a whole week. and now the kite flying has come to an end. it's lost it's luster, and I'm ready to chuck the kites and save our 5 spools of 250 feet of string.
why you ask? why would i end the wonder of the kite flying extravaganza? BECAUSE THEY DITCHED ME OUT IN THE STREET WHILE I WAS STUCK FLYING 3 KITES AT ONCE! I'm sure it was a sight to behold. one Purple kite string holder was through my belt loop and tucked into my pocket with all 250 ft of string out and attached to Liberty's Hello Kitty kite. one RED kite string holder was tucked under my armpit, attached to Hope's Dora the Explorer kite, and nicely tangled with Joy's Blue kite string holder attached to her Barbie kite. i was bringing Dora down winding that sucker up so i could get the tangles closer to me to undo the tangle, and JUST THEN Dora started flying erratically, and did 3 loops, further tangling the strings, and landed in a palm tree. it was Phenomenal, and did i get a picture ? NO because all of the kids but Pierce were inside, watching TV. playing computer and Gameboy, and no one could fetch my camera and i was stuck outside flying and trying to untangle 2 kites, and trying to not get the 3rd one tangled too.

a while later they did come back out. and i made them all stay out and help , but at some point liberty's went crazy, and crashed, i think it's in the Bermuda triangle since there is no trace of her kite. the string was on the roof broken kite less. and While i was on the phone, and trying to get Liberty's string wound up still in search of her kite, 2 people conveniently tucked the handy string holders in the rocker, got tangled together, and Hopes had gone down on it's own, it was a crazy flier the whole time, and i followed the string, over the house, into our giant backyard palm tree, over the fence into the neighbors lemon tree, and over the behind neighbors fence. Dora is lost for good, Hello kitty, mysteriously disappeared and Barbie, is in prison on the piano. not allowed to fly again.

needless to say i think they are over it. and if they ask I'll be sure to remind them of the time i got stuck holding the kites. EXCELLENT.

Oh but the reason for this post , i totally got sidetracked was we got some cheap-o nylon animal shaped kites at Walmart. and these suckers don't fly for crap, don't get sucked in, they SUCK. buy the giant 52" character ones. they cost less and yet get up and fly on their own. and were by far the best Kites we've ever had. screw the diamond kites, they suck and don't launch easily enough, and any erratic current, and that sucker takes a nose dive, same with the cheap LAME nylon animal ones. and the tails make them hard to launch but when ripped off don't have enough weight to balance it. so i had to tie them back on, but they nose dive too then. LAME.

so kite flying season is OVER. but it was fun while it lasted.

I'm officially tired. i stayed up far too late last night, 2:30. yikes. but i made some fabulous crafts, actually i went and watched while my craft group Friends made my crafts for me.

a fabulous ribbon journal with Jessica, cutting it all out, and taping it on for me, and all i did was tie my ribbons on.
Laura, had cute cute clippy stuff, she made it for me. fabulous

and Jessica , and Kayci did my earrings. whoohoo!

really i didn't learn much but it was fun.

today i had the pleasure of a Mother's day program at Hope's preschool class. it was very cute, and i took TONS of pictures, and video. ooh lala. if i wasn't so tired I'd download then upload then post but alas I'm fried and need a nap. lucky me.

and yesterday while waiting in the Van for Peyton's last basketball practice to be over i cleaned out the Van. no pictures but imagine 2 kitchen garbage bags full of nasty car stuff. plus stuff i couldn't just throw away. like shoes, and sweatshirts,and baseball gloves . i figure I'd better clean the sucker out now, because it is already almost TOO HOT TO CLEAN IT . i don't clean my car in the summer, it's too DAMN HOT!

So i wanna know. are you grossed out more by picking up dry crusty car funky food ?
Or still soft, slightly warm car floor food?
imagine tots, and fries. and chicken strips from wacky Wednesday.

and i'll just admit right now i prefer OLD DRY CRUSTY CAR FUNK. there is something nasty about still soft warmish fries. EWWWWW.

and yeah we eat in our car. i know you are shocked.
but when we are going to pick something up , I'm not unloading 6 plus people to eat in for fast food unless it has a play area, and i have someone to chat with.
So in the car it is. i remind them to remove the trash, i provide bags and whatnot, but it doesn't happen. so i clean out my car periodically, when i can't handle the funk any longer, or you can't open the door without the than 3 things falling out of the car.
generally it's water bottles, papers and empty cans of soda . occasionally a basketball or shoe escapes to add to the fun.

this just adds to my white trash evidence right?

i need to vacuum it. I'm thinking today during singing lessons. WHOOHOO for that.

also i feel a rather large RANT coming on about mothers day. it isn't my fave holiday by the way. and i'm semi bitter about it. that and my Birthday coming soon.
residual bitterness abounds in the month of MAY.

i keep trying to squelch it. but it keeps bubbling up like bad indigestion. seriously.
i think i officially need therapy. or a vacation. whichever is cheaper.
