random delights!
limited time today. i should be sweeping.
- i leave mega long comments.
- i like to read all of my comments, but don't do the newly popular comment back because i don't have time anymore. limits, are limiting me. even if i get a question asked.
- summer time is going to last FOREVER! but it's going well
- drive in last night was interesting. i liked 'C.O.N. Prince Caspian'
- i am a fretter. i fester about things, stress, worry, whine, gripe, obsess about stuff, usually more often about things i can't control, but sometimes it is my own issue.
- I am totally type A, but i am so ADHD i can't get started and i can't keep focused on one thing to see it through to the end, and my procrastination gets the best of me. and i end up having to stash and dash.
- we are low budget.
- i got up early. and am really tired.
- for all my whining about the remodel not getting done. i dread that Tony is coming today.
- i spent my birthday money on crap for the kids. i hate when i do that.
- we forgot Joy in the car the other night asleep. she came and knocked on the door, at 1:30 am. a little scared. but it wasn't hot, that is good.
- she got left behind accidentally yesterday when we were going to the drive-in, she just didn't get in the car. we stopped down the road to get drinks, when we got back in the car, they said"where's Joy"? um yeah! she must be at home. we got there, and she came right out. crying. we are RAD! she "got distracted watching TV". NICE! that is happening alot lately.
- we are parents of the year for sure.
tony is coming today. to work on...... the pantry.

I get distracted easily too..and I tend to spend my mondy on the kids too...I find it so much funner to buy clothes for the kids because I know they will look cute in them.
Oh poor Joy. Hopefully she won't need a lot of therapy over those little incidences. I have a friend that has 9 kids and left one at a pizza place once and didn't realize it until they got home. Oops.
Take before and after pics of the pantry.
LOVE your randoms. I have a hard time with the comment back thing too. No worries. AND we can be fret friends. I have made that one of my very best talents.
My dad got left at a gas station when his family was on a road trip. He was about Joy's age. His parents didn't notice for 25 miles!!! Luckily he was so distracted by a guy playing pin ball he didn't even notice when they came in freaking out fifty miles later. My dad is weird.
Ack! I can hardly keep track of one, I don't know how you manage with 6! You are my hero!
Oh Julie...sometimes I think we might be the same person....you totally crack me up.
I think it's a right of passage to be left by your parents when you come from a big family.
It's happened to me, and I've done it. ooops.
Hi, Julie. Yea, someone had to bring Sammy home from nursery a couple of months ago because no one picked him up and we hadn't even noticed yet. Felt like parents of the year. We take three different cars to church so it can get confusing. I don't judge anyone on that anymore after having a big family. I love your long posts. Glad you agree about the sleepover thing. I need more people in my court! Oh, and I'm really looking forward to your summer handout. Cindy says it's awesome. We're going to try and do the drive in, too. It will be fun to see you there.
i am so sad we don't live close to the drive in.
i got left on the way home from UT, i think it happens even in smaller families.
Poor Picked on JOY!!!
Poor Joy, I think she'll be okay she knows you love her!
I have a major type A personality, it can drive me crazy!
Do I win the prize for longest posts? Ha-ha...not this one but previous ones.
♡ That's scarry! Once I took Olivia with me to the pizza joint and ran in with Emma to grab the pizza it took maybe 5 minutes. WHen I came back out I saw her little pony tail sticking up through the window when I realized I had taken her with us!!!
So at least you know you're not the only one! :)
I'm so glad Joy was okay....and that it wasn't too hot in the car. I'd have nightmares for sure after that one. And, a least you left her at home and not in a strange place. See....could be worse! :)
My dad left my brother behind at a gas station, or DQ...somewhere in Mesa. No one ever realized he was missing. He walked home. All 10 miles of it. Now THAT wins parent of the year!
I'm feeling like summer is going to last forever as well. And it isn't even hot here yet. And we're only 4 days into it! I'm in trouble! ;)
WOW.
Those are some wonderful reflections...I can't believe poor JOy got left twice!! In 2 days!!
I can remember when DH's brother and his wife left their youngest (at the time) of 7 at the ranch. We were still there and grabbed him...I was slightly horrified. Until now. I have my own kids and TOTALLY see how it could happen...and I only have 4!!!
YAY for getting closer to finished on the house!!
;)
Oh no, poor Joy! I was the child forgotten as a kid. I think the wounds have healed (sob). Just kidding! She's gonna have to be a bit more assertive to keep up with your crew!
I thought I was the longest commenter ever. I love your long posts. I swear you remind me of me so much. I leave things behind probably would have lost 1/2 my kids by now, if it wasn't for the dad. Most the time I leave little pieces of my brain everywhere we go when I am leaving in a stash and dash manner. Not many pieces of my brain are left now.
Hope the remodel gets done soon. I hate having people in my house doing stuff. I thought I would get over it once the house was mine and not the rental. Nope didn't. But hang in there it will be nice when it is done. ;)
p.s. Totally copied your teacher gifts and when I looked a minute ago I realized I had even bought the same poka dot ribbon. Too funny. Thanks for the idea.
Poor Joy getting left twice. I totally do the same thing with my extra money, lucky kiddos!! I love your comments & understand about not always having time to comment.
Good luck with Tony being there tomorrow.
I love your random comments! Thank you for all your comments. I truly love getting them. Always sincere.
I about died when you wrote about Joy that is very funny! I can imagine your shock hearing that knock at 1:30am!
I totally fret and obsess and beat myself up over things too. I keep trying to overcome that flaw too. Good luck with the remodel. I feel for you. Having been through it and still going through some mess it just stinks. You want it over but hate suffering to get it done!
i love random thoughts...quick deep fun!
I think we're in the running with you for parents of the year! It's nice to know we're not alone! I'm not sure how I'm going to survive this summer. My kids are already driving me batty!
Thanks for the fun summer ideas! I took the kids to the library on Tuesday and they've been bugging me since then to take them back. How sad is that? They've never been to a public library - at least the younger ones. I took the first three all the time to "Story Time". I've become such a slacker in my old age!
I think you're great!
Lainie
I Love your long comments and I love your blog.
I used to pretend to fall asleep in the car, so my parents would have to carry me in. It got old real fast when they stopped coming back to get me. (Parenting was so different when I was a kid. I remember being 6 biking to the next town and coming home after dark.)
oh that's funny about Joy. Getting distracted by tv & not getting in the car, then getting left in car asleep. at least she got out & knocked on the door. I think Ashley would've just started screaming in the car waiting for someone to rescue her!
