prizes, blenvy, zits, glimpses from above,A.R.C(assorted random crap)

my bunko prize the cream stand thing. WHOOHOO! gosh whoever bought this totally thought of me. hmm. somehow i knew i was winning a low prize.

~~

HOLY CRAP! have you read this yet? i'm thinking it's pirated- 1st chapter? HERE
can't wait. for Breaking Dawn!
~~

i have the most painful tip of nose undergrounder ever! seriously what do you do for those?

~~

I cooked dinner . baked potatoes, baked bbq chicken, corn on the cob. homemade rootbeer in floats.

the recipe? take a bunch of frozen boneless skinless chicken breasts or tenders
put them in a pan (i use a pyrex 9x13)
pour bbq sauce of choice over the chicken , and make sure it is all covered.
cover with tinfoil,
bake on 400 for an hour.

at the same time put in foil wrapped potatoes.

and whahlah in an hour your house smells heavenly and you have cooked dinner!

and using the oven in the summer? yea i do it. i was cold today. in the AC that i keep too cold.

~~

i mentioned the Zit? it hurts like the DEVIL! i can feel the whole damn thing in there. and if i push on it, it makes me sneeze, i think i have a tumor . really i'm kidding on the tumor. but it is ODD! and hurts enough i want to cuss. especially when i push on it. and i keep pushing on it so it keeps hurting. do you do that?

~~

we are the ultimate slackers.
i don't check our messages on our house phone. last week. we missed out on cleaning the church building Lance signed us up for. an appointment with our bishop. and scouts today. a cousins missionary letter opening. and that's all. i told lance people that are trying to reach him should just call his cell. and church people call him. unless they specifically want to talk to me. otherwise we don't get the messages.

~~

hmmm,
i hosed kids down out front, in their clothes, for fun. they thought it was spectacular. and plan on it happening again tomorrow.
~~

i mopped 4 times today. umm maintaining sucks! it's an all day project. and not really fun.
and no one would know i did it, because no one was here to witness the mess then the clean up, so no one appreciates the effort. and i mean ALL DAY.

~~

i swear this zit feels like a solid hard ball in the tip of my nose. have you ever tried to flip your nose inside out to see what the hell is going on in there? i'm tempted to try. sadly. still hurts.

~~

i never posted a picture of my plate chalk board i gave to my mother in law for mothers day.
~~

the new sideboard from REAL DEALS! love it! i saw it , wanted it, called Lance and he said i could buy it. so it counts as one of those holidays where i essentially got the shaft . i think he said mothers day. works for me. so totally loving it. i still need to really decorate. I'm thinking mirror, or picture over it. we'll see. and the heart topiary still alive from Valentines day! WHOOHOO! i can usually keep them alive for a year. then they die. rad!

~~
my real life friends, ONEHM and ZB , that are best friends since H.S. - share a photo blog at Hope and Believe - this week they had a challenge to shoot from above. here you go. a short moment this afternoon. and you know i'm no photog since i didn't edit. fresh from the camera.

can you see the story here?

after playing in the hose with mom. in clothes, they came in and stripped. Pierce got down the foil , left on the counter from preparing dinner. and unrolled a large piece. i started to get mad and decided to get the camera, which is generally too much effort for me. i came back with the camera, and they were stomping on it. Pierce got in the pan cupboard, and got out the muffin pan. while Hope danced on the foil!
together they dance.
{ my fave -From above. }

YO!

~~

play dates rock! especially the kind where my kids go to other peoples houses.

~~

did you play along with the giveaway? use the huge blinky button , it will take you there.

~~

i remembered when i have blenvy-
do you want to know when?
  • when i read about moms that don't forget to be the tooth fairy.
  • when i see pics of skinny moms who are so chic, so thin, and are obviously not poor.
  • when people post pictures of their fabulously organized/decorated houses
  • when moms post about how they volunteer at school, are the team mom, and magnify their church callings. and they don't go crazy.
all things i am 100% not. should i be inspired to make a change in myself over these things? perhaps, but if i was capable of those things wouldn't i just be those things?

self defeating talk. HEALTHY.

i admit i have blenvy too.

what do you blenvy (blog envy)people?

~~
mothering style from this quiz
as seen on Dandelion wishes
it rings true i think. and makes me want to buy the book. i am a sucker for parenting books.

ENTP-the "independence' mother
(Extraverted, Intuitive, Thinking, Perceiving)

“When I held my babies, I always faced them outward so they could take in the world.”

  • Full of energy and confident in her own self-sufficiency and competence, the ENTP mother encourages her children—as a role model and as a teacher—to be independent and confident on their own in the world.
  • A “big picture” person, she points out options and possibilities along the way. Objective and logical as well, the ENTP wants her children to evaluate their choices and learn from the consequences of their own decisions.
  • The ENTP mother is resourceful and action-oriented. She likes going places and doing things with her children, exploring all that life has to offer. She is less concerned with rules, routines, and schedules. Introducing her children to new concepts and activities, challenging them, and stimulating their intellectual development are top priorities.
~~

hope your Wednesday was spectacular!
(did you make it to the end?)

I bought Eclipse and it has that chapter in the back. I hate spoilers I won't be reading it any time soon. Although it helps that I am not done yet with the Eclipse and I am rereading Twilight.

I have blenvy too. Too many things to name. I just have to remind myself selves out on their blog. No one is perfect, no one! LOL! These are the things I tell myself.... Oh and I forgot to be the tooth fairy last year for Lindsey (blogged about that one). I don't bath my children as often as I should. I need to loose weight to be the skinny one someone envy's. Again NO one is perfect. Have a great day tomorrow. My kids are out of school officially. I hope we survive.

It is late. I meant to say We all put our best selves on the blog.

Oh... I went into Gymboree today and got a peel a prize of 50% off my total purchase (sale stuff too). I haven't spent it yet as I am plotting. Only a Gymboree lover like you (even in a past life) would understand my euphoria! LOL!

Sucks about the zit. Have em, hate em, no clue what to do about em. Sorry there

Love the tinfoil dance. My kids love muffin tins. The walk on them and stand on them too. Whats the deal there?

Try squeezing till you black out. LOL Really though, have one on my lip the mustach part. Stings like hell!

Love Love the side board. And the Chalk Plate that is a cute idea. (wheels turning) need nstructions.

Wonder if you could put zit cream inside the nose without crying?

Blenvy? Are you kidding me? Everyday over everyone! I blenvy you. Your hair bows, and creativity, and spraying the kids with the hose, and I totally and completely blenvy your bunko groups and prizes, and having freinds that live so close!

Good luck getting the nose to go inside out. Have a great day! ;)

Oh yes I blenvy people that can leave short comments too.... hahaha

I can't stand to read about someone's "perfect" husband. Give me a break! I'm sure there will be plenty of those coming up in the next week or two. I love my husband - but I'll tell him to his face.

For that ZIT!!: Get some hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab and dab dab dab away!!! A hot compress might bring it to a head. Also, lavender, tea tree, or lemon oil will dry it up, they're anti bacterial too...

Oh crap, you just reminded me that Taylor missed scouts last night! I am such a ditz!! That's what happens when you have no schedule to keep anymore.

LOVE the sideboard!! So glad you got that. It is fabulous! I'm the same way with those topiaries. I can keep them going for about 9 months, then they die. I don't have a green thumb.

I know it's hard to keep your house clean once it finally gets there. I am always all over my family to pick their stuff up and clean up their spills instead of leaving it for 'the maid'. I told them I'm going to start charging them for every item they don't do. And now Taylor is at that sassy age where he thinks it's funny to tell me to put my shoes away, or clean something up before I get a chance to do it....I swear I just wanna smack him sometimes.

Girl - I have a couple zits myself that are killing me. Drake won't stop touching my face (not in a nice way) and I'm felling the pain from it.

Those are such cute pics of the kids. How adorable.

That chalkboard plate is brilliant!!

Holy Crap! I love that side board. Guess I'm going to have to find out about Real Deal!

As for blenvy, it ebbs and flows, just like I feel in R.S. Sometimes I think its all awesome, and then later I feel like the world's biggest failure. Life lessons.

Darling chalk plate, btw!

Thanks for the dinner idea! I think I'll try it this weekend.

I'm awful at checking messages also. I usually only think to if I'm expecting a call and had to leave for a bit. And even then, I'll usually check the caller ID first to see if they called, before actually going to the answering machine. If they didn't call, no need to listen to other messages, right?! I prefer email anyway because I hate calling people back. I'd rather just ask what I want to know in an email and wait for the response rather than having to socialize over the phone. How bad does that make me?! I mostly just hate those akward silences or when my kids or way to noisy in the background. Anyway, this is total rambling now!

Love the foil dancing party!

I hate those zits...i hate them anywhere. Any zit that I can't pop i get totally obsessed about.

I took that quiz and I think I got the same result as you did.

And I did survive yesterday...oddly enough. No major break downs...but I didnt survive the night...if it wasnt the baby then it was the pshyco kid. Lets just say I have a major headache..

We use my cell phone as our home phone...sometimes this is a curse not a blessing. But it does make it easier to keep track of who called.

As far as blenvy my biggest thing is when people are always going on vacation..how the heck do they afford it? Every weekend? Well and you know my other one...And yeah I don't like anyone who portrays themselves to be perfect. Even if they are!!

I hope you have a wonderful Thursday.

So sorry about the zit. I get those all the time and they hurt like nothing else. Throb throb throb. As hard as it is, I have found that if I don't do anything they go away faster. If I pick, then I get a huge scab on my face. Nice. I woke up with one on my wedding day. I met Mark Mabry the photographer with a big scab on my face.
Love the sideboard! Way jealous!!! I would love to have something like that.
As for blenvy, we all suffer. I don't think women ever feel sufficient. I always feel it myself. Keep your chin up. We all screw up all the time and a lot of us don't put the ugly on the blog. Some things need to be private I guess!

I have blog envy. It's just like high school, but on the net.

Love your new stand and sideboard.

You rock and I love your blog for keepin it real. You really are my twin from another mother.

Thanks for a fun time at Bunko! Everything was perfect yummy food, fun people to chat with & I love my cute basket.
About the zits use white (not the gel kind!) toothpaste. It drys them out soooo fast. It's great!

Cute sideboard, cute tinfoil destruction pictures, and cute chalkboard plate as well!

So sorry about the zit....I think it's so unfair that we have to still get stupid zits....we should be able to get rid of them after living through our teens! I had a doozy on my chin last week...so loverly.

And maintaining? Come to my house and you can see how fantastic I am on keeping up with that! I hate, hate, hate mopping...even though I have the great Hoover floormate that is a vacuum, floor scrubber, and suck-up-the-dirty-water all in one. But it doesn't work too well just sitting in the corner....like it does at my house. :) Ohh, and don't even get me started on bathrooms...and don't go look at any of mine right now either! ;)

Blenvy....love the word! Yep, there are times. Like the mega fantastic family vacations to far-away destinations...or even as simple as the fantastically behaved children and the date nights out with hubby's. It doesn't happen much here either. I find I enjoy the "keeping it real" blogs much more...I get tired of the beautifully decorated homes and weekends off to the 2nd home, and my adorable kid won a cute baby contest. Of course he did! And I have read one of those...and quit. But not because I want my life to be like that....mostly because I wasn't gleaning anything from it to make me a better wife, mom, etc. I just like to know that someone else is in the same boat as me and we can help each other!

Did that really long comment make any sense?!

YEP, I made it to the end!! I took the Mommy quiz and only agree on a few points abut me.I DO NOT want to be the Mom running any fund raisers I have no time fot that.

I LOVE your random crap posts!!! On the nose/zit problem, yes I do that. I poke, prod, try to flip my nose inside out to see what the hell is going on in there & occasionally wonder if it IS in fact a freaking tumor! Suck, sorry about your nose growth!
I loved all your randoms I dont know what to comment about! I too am waiting on the edge of my seat for the next installment of the Twilight series!! Can't. Wait. I think I'm going to re-read the others in order just before it comes out, to refresh it all before I sink my teeth into Breaking Dawn! Seriously Can't Wait!!!
I hear ya on the "blenvy" I too suffer from blenvy every now and then! I'm not 100% in anything, so I feel it about most things! I especially feel it & feel your pain with the skinny/chic mom pics! I hear ya sista!
I love your post! & congrats on your fab bunko prize!! Woo Hoo!!

What a great post on a ziggety, zaggety, everyday kind of day. I HATE MAINTAINING, TOO! I get ya, sister, when you get bitter that no one was around to witness or appreciate the zillionth mop session. I guess the answer is to that is just realize we mostly do the maintenance for ourselves, so we can stand to LIVE in the PLACE!!!

Funniest thing about your photo from above: the peek at your Flinstone Feet! hahahahahahaha!

I get insecurities from other peoples' blogs, but I have to remind myself that it's because I'm comparing my WEAKNESS to their STRENGTH. And we all like to post those moments that we're proud of, that we want to remember, that we want our kids to remember, etc.

I like it when I also see moments that sucked, because that paints a picture of a real life, lived the best to someone's ability. And we can learn so much from each other when we post/discuss our difficult days, as well as our triumphant days!

This is a good reminder to me (note to self!) that I need to be more open about the challenging days. Those days that make me say bad, naughty words!!!

Incidentally, this is one of the reasons your blog is in my top fav's. You post the good, the bad & the ugly.

Goodnight!

It's good to know that I'm not the only one with Blenvy. I love people blogs that share "the good the bad and the ugly". I probably need to be a little bit more real in mine. Althought I did post last week about everything happening at the same time and my dad called me and said "I read you blod and It sounds like you are little down". I had no idea what he was talking about. I wan't down I was just getting it off my chest since I have no friends at the moment to talk to.

Love your bunko prize!! Your sideboard is the cutest!!! You are on a roll with that mop! Good for you! Can you lug it to my house & mop for me too?? I'll give you TONS of praises!! LOL

Love the photo of the foil party! Looks like something my kiddos (talkin' about Nathaniel & Felicia) would do when they were toddlers! How about totally unravelling the toilet paper in the bathroom or trying to get it all in the toilet? Or unrolling the paper towel on the kitchen floor because it's funny & it keeps rolling! CUTE munchkins!!

BTW - we had grilled BBQ chicken & baked potatoes with corn the other day too! It was delish!! So we had it again the next day!

Ok, "blenvy" love that word!! You're crackin' me up with the new blog vocab! Yep, not lovin' the blogs that try to sound like they're perfect! I'm sorry but NO one is perfect! I love how you're able to open up so easily in real life & on your blog. Wish I could be more open like you (I just don't always have the time to type it all out). Plus you're funny!! No matter what! Luv ya! :)

i don't have blenvy. i often wonder why not. i mean my life is seriously FAR from perfect but i can't remember ever reading a blog and thinking "i wish i was her" or "i want my life to be like that". i am assuming that is what blenvy is.

yea, i don't get that. maybe there IS something wrong with me.

Mamarazzi said...

wait...not that i don't admire the lives of some of my bloggy friends. cuz i totally do. i mean i am inspired by them, by their children, by their talents, by their parenting skills....i just don't wish to HAVE everything they have.

plus don't most of us put our best fave on when we blog?

like right now...if you saw the mountain of laundry on my sofa that has been there since WEDNESDAY. seriously. i am NOT blogging about that!
