updates on the gimp and the hell that was swimming in public.
So family night was swimming at the PUBLIC pool here in town. family night for a buck the whole family gets to swim for 2 hours. fun in theory. until i have to get ready to go. DREAD!
i hate swimming in public. my new swimsuit was OK, i hate wearing a bathing suit in the first place nothing like a swim suit to remind you you have body image issues. Yeah it was that rad. on the upside, i wasn't the fattest person there. thank goodness for that. and those people either are Ok with themselves, Or have learned to embrace it,or have no clue how fat and ugly they are. i need to get more of that kind of attitude about it. OR stop wearing a swim suit ever! just not own one. never go. like my mom did. I'm to that point. FHE at the pool, the kids had a most spectacular time until the end when they started talking back and it was time to leave, not following directions and arguing tells me it's time to go home. i was OVER IT!
we hit taco bell on the way home, ate and dropped off Lance at Urgent Care. went home, and changed everyone into Pj's and hung out until Lance called for a ride. he can't drive. by the way. it hurts too much. So that is awesome.
we picked him up and he has a fancy rocker boot to wear which takes the pressure out of walking without moving his ankle. guess what is wrong? do you give up? he has some bone growths growing on the top of his foot, that must have been cutting up the ligaments or tendons. he has heel spurs too, and some other random bone growths in his foot, and some arthritis. and apparently there is some scar tissue, which explains why the pain happens, gets better and goes away until he does too much, the bone growth is cutting up the soft tissues, causing pain and scar tissue. it's rad. he has to see a specialist but this time he actually wants to go. WHOOHOO ON THAT! since he generally is a non dr. visitor. sad thing is the heel spurs have been around since 2001. he's just been ignoring them. nice huh? so do you think i'm fully sympathetic? not really. since 1. he didn't take care of the pain the first 10 times he had it. 2. he went and played raquet ball . potential injury sports, get no sympathy when something happens. 3. he played in his sandals.geniius? only in the computer nerd sense, in real life sports use? not so genius after all! the rocker boot helps -"it feels so much better already" . rad. worth it. FINALLY

Yes I looked it up or Urban Dictionary, no I didn't see your name, but I did go back and see your credit for blitching. WTG on having feelings for your husband!?!?
Public pools are gross...
What's your favorite planet???
(U-RINE)
i know feeling about being hurt, complaining and then doing nothing about it.
no thanks to public pools..glad your kids had fun :)
see you tomorrow
poor gimpy. bummer on the spurs, that is some major pain!!
i hear ya on the whole pool thing. i got over it about 7 years ago on a trip to Hawaii. i was there, i was gonna have fun and let it all hang loose. i never saw those people again and didn't care if they saw my wiggly bits, everyone has them (or at least i like to think they do, don't ruin it for me)
Hehehe! you sound like me when my husband complains. No sympathy when he waits for over a year to take care of it!
HATE public humiliation..like me in a swimsuit. Yikes.
Brave girl you are..
Bet the kiddos had a good time!!
TOTALLY understand the dh and dr thing. If I did not make the appts mine would NEVER go!! SO frustrating!!! And expensive! My dh was told in 2002 (when we had 100% coverage from Microsoft!!) that he needed some dental work done. He waits till 2008 when he will lose his teeth if he does not get it done NOW and we have to out of pocket over $2500!! GRrrr....
Luvpilot won't ever go to the doctor either. I hear you on being tired of the complaining when they won't do anything about it. He had salmonella once so bad, and wouldn't go to the doctor and probably could've died if his mom hadn't come into town and saw how bad he was and insisted he go. At least Lance is finally getting it taken care of. My sister has an extra bone in her foot. Weird.
Glad he FINALLY went to urgent care....what is it with men? We have to get up in the stirrups at least once a year and have babies and have our boobs molested and all kinds of horrible stuff....but they won't even go in for a hurt foot???? Seriously! All men are the same and it drives me nuts!!! Sorry about your swimming in public thing...I too am not a huge fan of it. I have a great swimming suit that covers most of my post-baby stretch marks on my butt and legs but I still hate to get that naked in front of the entire world! And really right now being the beached whale that I am....I am so thankful my boys are in AZ swimming so I wouldn't be forced to don the whale suit! :)
Men and dr's is something I dont think I will ever understand! It takes my husband forever to go and see one; he only goes if I get really upset and tell him I dont feel sorry for him!
I dont do swimming in public either, I have a hard enough time going swimming in my own backyard pool. This week is our ward pool party and I will NOT be wearing a swim suit!
I don't love to swim publicly either...so I am feeling your pain on that.
AND
I'm glad that Lance is feeling better.
AND
You have such a gift for storytelling. Seriously, you can make anything interesting and funny.
:)
Julie:
I have to say that you looked pretty fashionable in your bathing suit last night.
Kimm
That stinks, I am glad that he's feeling better having that rocker boot.
Have a good one!
YEAh do not like public places in a swimsuit. Heck, sometimes I don't like being in public fully clothed!
So glad Lance is feeling better. A man in pain or sick is 100 times worse than every kid in my house sick and uncomfortable! Yeah for urgent care:)!!
I think I am at the no swimsuit point. Unless we ever had our own personal pool. YOu'll have to post a picture of the boot...hopefully the specialist can help SOON (so he can help around the house/drive)
You crack me up! Poor Lance. There, I gave him sympathy, now you don't have to! I'm not a big fan of doing anything in public. I'm probably turning into those weird people that stop leaving the house.
My sister has bone spurs too. Says they hurt like Hell and she has been having a heck of a time with them you can read about it here if you are bored: http://itsallaboutthedrama.blogspot.com/2008/06/yee-owch_13.html
So sorry about the public swimming. I hate it too. But I go because I am trying to be a good mom and spend time doing the things the kids like and I figure I am doing a public service by making the rest of them feel better about themselves becaue most the time I am the fattest one at the stupid pool. Though not always and isn't it sad that we totally notice. Stupid perfect barbie moms, I want to drown them, how do like that? LOL
I went swimming today. We got family passes to the awesome rec center in our new town. Now we have to go all the time. I hate HATE swimming suits. So not rad. Since the rec center also has kickin' gym facilities, maybe I can do something about it...maybe.
Oh no! I was wondering what he was gimping for!
Hugs!
Janna
