guess who is domestic? yeah that would be ME!

it's rare that i revel in my domestic skills. at one time i considered myself to be a domestic goddess. but the kids, the cancer, the depression kind of killed that off.

but today i got it back! i achieved domesticity. in an afternoon no less.

i baked chocolate chip cookies (actually i made the dough and let Lance cook them) but hello! from scratch! not a roll or break and bakes. FANCY! yeah i did .

i used to bake regularly before i got married. back when i strived to be domestic. now i have a husband, those skills went in the crapper. he wasn't sufficiently impressed in the beginning. now he knows to rave about any minor effort i make since it is SO RARE an occurance. i have him conditioned to think that mac and cheese from a box is something that deserves high praise. i'm all about setting the bar low.
where my friends that put a hot meal on the table every night with 2 side dishes, and 2 veggies, and dessert, still have to keep up with that crap! sure that is fine sometimes but with a whole family, lets be real, sometimes there isn't enough time in the day to do that crap. and totally NOT daily.

then i made some cheddar bay biscuits. heavenly day! it's easy.
2 cups Bisquick mix,
2/3 cup milk
and a cup of cheddar cheese shredded.
mix and scoop onto un greased cookie sheet.

bake for 8-10 minutes at 350

then take some butter i used a whole cube. since i'd rather have buttery delightfulness
1 tsp of garlic powder
1 tsp of parsley flakes.

melt butter in microwave while biscuits cook, add seasonings and pour over to drench
serve while warm.

Heavenly day! they were good.

and then i make bbq baked chicken too. for dinner.
i rarely cook dinner much less bake treats.

and today i did both.
i have to do the dishes now. since my lame blog statement recently involving washing dishes when cooking or baking. and my general irritation yeah now i have to do it. LAME! which i would have to do anyway since it seems like someone is on strike. ugh! i hate dishes.

yeah so i had an unusual amount of domestic skill today.
and while baking i re arranged the spice cupboard too. fabulous!

i also emailed Joy's teacher regarding her behavior and meds situation. to open the channels of communication. and I supervised homework, and chores. and I used my label maker , i see an organized dressing room coming soon. i printed labels for the bins and the cubbies. whoohoo now i just need to sort everything into them. which is NO SMALL TASK!

wow. i am on a roll today.

I've received some awards. i need to pass on. so watch for that post to be coming soon. i know you are super excited about that. and I'm actually going to give them away. sometimes I'm lame and just hoard them. so today I'm passing them on. whoohoo on that. i know you are waiting with Baited breath on that news.

so happy monday evening/ tuesday morning.

how was your afternoon?

Good for you! Just wait 'til the kids are a little bigger, then you can have them do it all. I totally have mine trained to make cookies--from sratch--or cakes, other treats, you name it. Now they do it without my asking. Allie made cookies Sunday. The only downfall to that is that I'm usually the one who eats most of it. Crapstain!

Wow! You were one busy girl yesterday!!! I love it when I have days like that and I just feel on top of the world because of all I have accomplished and it's even better when the hubby notices right off! :)

Yay for being domestic! Nice job. I love Bisquick biscuits. So yummy. I was gone most of the day yesterday, so I didn't cook dinner but we had leftovers from Sunday and I had leftovers from lunch. What would we do without microwaves?

"hot meal on the table every night with 2 side dishes, and 2 veggies, and dessert"

Who does this?! Not me.....except maybe for Thanksgiving!

In the past two days I have made chocolate chip cookies and homemade spaghetti sauce. I'm just happy about that. And since the cookies are almost gone I'l be making either snickerdoodles or molasses cookies later today.

Way to go being productive! It's so much easier with less bodies around.

You go girl! Way to go! The biscuits sound yummy. I am way lazy so I buy the bisquick cheddar garlic mix. Yummy. And then I douse them in butter:)

Love the domesticity! What a woman. I am sure the fam appreciated it.

I am with you on setting the bar low and training hubbies to be easily pleased. I could never live in a household where my husband EXPECTED a hot meal everyday. I like being in a home where everyone cheers when I a well rounded, home cooked meal is served. We're pretty smart, you and me.

i am so proud!! i hope you weren't saying that i make hot meals...cause lets be real. i love the microwave and frozen pizzas ;)

those biscuits sound soooo good. i might make those for dinner.

Hey, my spice cupboard TOTALLY needs organizing. Get on over here & do it.

"No small task" is an inside joke in my family, with all my aunts & uncles. HA! So when I read it, I laughed really loud. To myself. No one to share the in-joke with. But all the same, very funny to read.

"AND THAT'S NO SMALL TASK!!!"

hahahaha....laughin' now. And you have no idea why. I'm a nerd.
