there is something about freedom...FHE at the Mesa Constitution celebration.
did you know it was Constitution week ?(September 17-23rd)
Every year there is a Constitution celebration at the Mesa Amphitheater.
We went last year. and we did tonight again.
there is just something spectacular about running free at the grassy amphitheater, and for some reason we let them roam free. when normally we don't at public places.
plus the super bonus of having cousins there. and activities.
Balloons,
flags, posters with the constitution, and hat making constitution quizzes to get treats and a flag ceremony. WOW. so fun.
but of course they'd rather roll down the grassy hills.
even if they get all itchy and grass in their hair.
it's pure bliss.
we lost 5 balloons.
Peyton accidentally threw his football downhill and NAILED a lady in the head.
(i was horrified, and he apologized but still NOT COOL.)
Peyton could have participated in the color guard with his cousin's scout troupe but he opted not to. (he's shy)
we had a picnic on the grass while we saved seats for everyone.
the kids didn't really eat very well , they wanted to run wild while they could.
a school band played that was great.
another school did a sign language/song performance.
and the main musical group to put in nicely was L.A. (that is code meaning Lame A)
to say it sucked would be the understatement of the CENTURY! sadly.
people started bailing after one song. whole groups started packing up. and leaving.
it was amazingly not good. SO NOT GOOD. it was sad.
last year was WAY BETTER.
we hope next year will be better or this tradition is going down the toilet.
and yes i might be MEAN. and i hope i don't offend anyone, and REALLY HOPE NO ONE that reads this blog is related to anyone in that singing group. REALLY HOPING NOT.
but if so, take note,it wasn't good. I'm just saying. that's my opinion and also the opinion of the 25 people there with me. OY!
sad. it was just plain Pathetic. Lance compared it to this video, just not good. and yet, holy hannah listening to this was a million-ca-billion times better, than what we suffered through tonight.
we were all in agreement, that a patriotic sing along would have been BETTER. WAY BETTER!
and also that Joy could have composed better songs than these original Numbers.
SO. NOT. GOOD.
I feel mean. i am mean. it's true. why deny the truth?
i tried really hard to find the group, a website, or blog, or something but I couldn't or i wouldn't post it probably anyway. but i was on a quest for it.
if only to send to my brother and Lance. the mocking. it was extreme.
but even better was, the whole time i was there, and doing my standard mom stuff, like serving pizza for dinner, and bending over grabbing kids, or picking up trash, i was living in fear of the aiming the booty the wrong way, and giving everyone an eyeful, or worse, have it captured on Film like here. Great! now i have a new fear to cause anxiety.
people will check 0ut my rear, while i take care of my kids. i should stop being mean. and i should never have posted those funny pictures at the end of this post. what if that happened to me? it totally could too. any time.

giiiirl! i worry about people taking my pic and blogging about it. All. The. Time.
it would be karma...and i guess i am ok with that, cuz i am not changing my ways anytime soon!
looks like a fun celebration/family event. even if the choir stunk!
and BTW your blog. your opinion.
truth!
you're kids are adorable! I loved all of the pics!
I just found your site and wanted to say hello! GREAT blog!
and oh, I read in the bathroom too....which may or may not be the reason no one asks to borrow my old mags! hahaha! ;-)
Who knew? I had no idea we have a constitution celebration and from the sonds of it I did not miss a thing. Cute pics of those cute kids of yours:)
CUTE pictures! If anything, you got some darling pictures from the evening! Besides some not so good entertainment, sounds like the rest of the evening was FUN! If they do it again next year, maybe we will have to participate!
I was worried about someone being related to the bad singers too, but yeah, it SUCKED. Although Grandpa's song was good. I think the main prob was that they were all original songs. If we could have sung along it would have been better (drowning them out would have been way better.)
Oh email me please and tell me who the group was. I am wondering if it is the group that I was (sadly, embarrassingly, not of my feel will or choice) once associated with.
Other than that, yay for Constitution Week. Wish we still used it.
Love the pics of your kids. So cute.
oh yea, sad to say, I was part of one of the groups who packed up and bailed last night, but... not without recording one of the songs on my camera first. It was the one with the boy and his sister (he thought it was his brother but she walked out instead) wish I could've got the one just before that with him by himself, because that was what inspired me to record. I am debating whether to put it on my blog or not, becasue I don't know if anyone will know these people too. Anyway, i agree with the opinions of all others in attendance. =0)
Oh, and I do have to work tonight, so I will be late tonight. Do you think 10:30 is too late to come? do you think the party will be over by then?? (wink, wink)
Last years was WAY better. I think the guy singing was actually reading the lyrics off a cue card in his hand at one point. Maybe it would have been different if the family had sang songs that we all know.
My kids had fun running around and playing with cousins. The binoculars and headlight were a hit. Bob called during it and asked where I was, when I told him, he didn't remember going last year....I guess he was out of town (how unusual for him)AGAIN!
Talk to you later!
