Sharing the wonder of the Summer fun ideas from the archives.

after today's post about my lack of planning for summer fun. i went to the archives. where ideas were plentiful.

so here you go. summer fun ideas lists REPOST from the archives. be sure to verify pricing and availability this year. since some have changed.

I included links to the google doc from last year. that i printed and passed out in a booklet.

here are the current listings and brochures for this year.

  • Summer movie fun listing
  • Harkins for this year here.
    • AMC here it's a $1 per kid. Wednesdays June 17- August 5th.
  • City of Mesa parks and rec brochure. here
  • MESA PUBLIC LIBRARY summer reading program here

  • There are tons of fun things you can google too. don't be shy google is

your friend.try summer crafts, fun summer activities, add in your city

or state. and see what that gets you.

  • *a great site to use is Today's mama

click on the top right hand corner drop down for more regions.

with the handbook for individual areas here

and the calendar feature to search for activities by date

individual jars, my sister in law Alicia -was going to use tickets(you

can buy a roll a walmart) adjust it to fit your kids age level, or the

points to suit you . another friend did beans.

  • also there is another ticket system version at

Executive Homemaker here

she has some great chore charts too.

own but you get the idea. this one was made by Jenn

HOW TO KEEP TRACK OF THE FUN PLANNED?

in the past I've purchased a large Desk Calendar. (they have them at the dollar store sometimes)

I marked my days i planned for activities. so they kids weren't harassing me about what

day we were doing things.they could look to see what movies we were seeing, who we had play

dates with. and what fun things we had planned. and it didn't mess up my regular calendar.

it was just for summer activities with the kids. i color coded it, and put it where they could look at it.

Which was great for the days when our activities varied.

and here is the link to the original post for summer fun ideas. asking for Ideas, where there are loads of comments. check it out.

in the past i've been more organized. last year we went with the free reign plan. hopefully this year we'll find a happy medium.

I got info today about a basketball day camp. that i'm having all of the big kids do. if you want that info email me and i'll pass it along. but i'll warn you now it's on this side of town.

and i'm debating swim team,

and I'm considering the swim pass for all of the public pools here. it's on sale for half off on memorial day weekend.

My daughters 15 and she had a craft class at Spring Break for all the little girls we knew. She only charged $5 each class and on one of the days she had 15 girls.
She is doing it again the last week of May and last week in June. 3 days each week!!! All the girls ask her when we are doing it again!!!
