the delights of a Tuesday!

don't let the length scare you off. read it. enjoy it, and comment! ;)

hmm. it's the first REAL day of summer vacation. ya know since the weekend was standard. and Friday was overcast.

So it started out bright and shiny early.

i had to head, to the ends of the earth, to retrieve my offspring from my mother in laws house.

i collected them and returned home before 10.

when we decided to go swimming. (i need a tan)

so we made a quick change into our swimming attire

then, descended on grandma's pool like locusts.

my mom came and kept us company for a minute but she quickly wilted, the heat was too much for her.

the lawn crew however, lingered on the outskirts of the pool languishing in the shade.

I'm pretty sure they enjoyed the show. (why? i don't know)

me in a bathing suit.(that's show enough right there, of the horror flick variety)

holding my monkey on my hip. (Pierce was whiny and wanted to be held the whole time)

Pierce made use of my "pocket" again. for his shark dive toy. no one could use it , but i could apparently "hold it" for him. (i swear this kid is a boob man already, he's obsessed with that 'pocket' )

he laid on my chest ruining any chance of a REALLY good tan.

he was tired and still not feeling good so he was cuddly.

finally they left, so we had no audience.

which i appreciated. but seriously, how productive could a landscaping maintenance crew be sitting around for an hour?

they also had the pleasure of seeing my kids smack my rear.

I was really loving that. (no dignity , i swear!)

an hour after that, the kids started laying out on the lounge chairs. soaking in the rays.

i was the only one in the pool for a long time.

eventually the little kids wanted to go home.

so i dragged everyone out of there and came home.

after 2 and a half hours in the sun.

they all had rash guards on.

but i got some color. everyone needs a base tan right?

yeah i'm cultivating my melanoma .

we came home , had lunch, and then Quiet time

(including an excellent nap for me).

i did wake up to microwaved globs of colored goo on a paper plate

(someone was experimenting with cooking fruit snacks.)

But still best first day of summer ever.

(except the 'crew' lingering kinda creeped me out)

after nap time we dropped off the boys at my sisters, for a late night.

i picked up McDonald's for the girls.

On the way home they discussed the dynamics of breastfeeding.

announcements were made that " I'm going to breastfeed like aunt Jane!" (Joy age 6)

then they had to discuss the why's, hows, and what if's included. (Joy made up a long winded scenario about , what if mom was gone, and the baby was hungry)

this was all while i was held captive in the car driving home.

apparently they'd seen something that triggered the conversation on ABC Family.

GREAT! just what i want to discuss with my 9 , 6 , and 4 year olds. FRIGGIN' AWESOME!

at least the boys weren't in the car.

tonight i have GIRLS NIGHT OUT! it's been months since the group has gone out.

i can't wait.

we are doing a movie and dessert!

what's not to love? it might be a late one. these are the girls that stay out until dawn.

WHOOHOO!

so I wonder...do you have anything you wanna share?

What would you do if a landscaping crew sat watching you and your kids swim?

Breastfeeding discussion? anyone have a tale to tell? spill it!

Girls night out? you are jealous right? i mean it's a long evening out with ME?

TRULY DELIGHTFUL! right?

k well have a rad evening.

I gotta go do my hair!

P.S.

Girls night was FABULOUS!

and OH DUDE! i got some COLOR! base tan? YEAH RIGHT?!!!

I am all about the breast feeding right now. Since I am trying to give up the habit. And the Baby is not so cooperative. We have been trying to get her to take a bottle for almost 8 months. She staged a 12 hour hunger strike while I was at Knott's Berry Farm. But now I am starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. And trying to make sure my kids don't catch a peek of me pumping. So send those girlies over here and I could tell them all about it;)

Creepy yard crew! eeww.
That stinks you couldn't get a good tan but how fun cuddling.
We know all about breastfeeding here. that question gets asked if they are or not and whether they are pushing the baby out or getting it cut out. ya they know all about that too, way rad.
Today we had to talk about pregnancy tests because someone has to have one before an endoscopy. fun.
p.s. it sounds like Pierce is totally going to be a boob man.
GNO sounds so fun I'm way jealous.

Seriously? 'Til DAWN? I'm so inviting myself to that next Girls Night. I am an all-nighter type of woman, myself. The night only truly becomes fun after 2am.

Give me 24 hour notice, & I'll get on a red-eye flight.

What movie are you going to see?????

I loved hanging out with you tonight Jewels! You are always so good to make me laugh! My daughter would NOT take a bottle and I admit I was embarressed to breast feed in public so someone told me to stick a bottle in her mouth at night. I did and the next day she switched would NOT take the breast so you can imagine what my breasts looked like! My neices and nephews were asking what I had inside my shirt! NIGHTMARE! Anyway I told you tonight but I will say it again the lawn crew were checking you out what is not to love??

Glad you had a fun night out. I need one of those but, unfortunately I have no girls to hang out with and in this small town there would be no place to go. lol

CREEPY!!! I would have asked them to leave. My kids know all about breastfeeding, it's a natural part of life and I nursed all of them so it's normal around here, plus I have a sister who doesn't cover up when she does it so, whatever, my kids are comfortable with it....i should say my girls are, Preston still leaves the room but he knows about it, I want him to be a supportive husband and be there for his wife know matter what she chooses.
I am in desperate need of a GNO, especially after the looong camping trip :) Can't wait till sat. it will be fun....sorry I missed telling you Happy Birthday, I hope you had a good day.

I would have fired them because that would be my employees (we own a landscape company) and it would have royally pissed me off that I was paying them to stare at me! :)

I didn't do the breastfeeding thing with my kids, I had to work with the first one, second one was allergic to EVERYTHING, so my kids have had absolutely no exposure to it. So one day my oldest son was with my friend and she said she had to feed the baby. My son says Oh I'll feed her! so my friend had to explain the dynamics of breastfeeding to him. OOPS!

Totally jealous of your GNO. I'm in deseperate need.

ahhhh GNO was AWESOME!!! Totally needed some time with the gals! The movie was FUNNY & CUTE {I mean what's not to love - it has Matthew McConaghey}!!! The dessert & chat {aka laughing hysterically} was fantastic!

The lawn crew was definitely checking out your honkers!! :)
