a little freakish in the way that they love structure.
ever have one of those days? i had kind of a breakdown and blitched all about it, then i took that post off. sorry you missed it.
i made a million appointments. paid bills. supervised chore time. cleaned. cooked dinner. refereed . taxied. cried. screamed. went on a hot date. got myself a new profile pic for FB (posted here).
I finally made a "how well do you know me F.B. quiz." if you are my F.B friend. you should check it out. how well do you think you know me? (i told my friend everyone would instantly get the answers right if they read my blog at all. it's all on here. not many secrets left) so i tried to make it extra hard. take it. and let me know if i was tricky or NOT.
it was a very productive day. (of course i hated alot of it.) mostly because i was manipulated into it. and i hate being manipulated. but that's a story for a different day.
OH but i was stoked with myself last night since i managed to get my summer schedule kind of down.
so we won't forget appointments. or summer school, or scouts, or therapy, or Piano lessons,. or anything like that.which is GREAT!
THEN , i made a lunch menu options list. and the kids are STOKED to each take a day that they get to decide what we serve for lunch and make it with minimal assistance and serve it.
yes. exciting things happening here. finally getting my crap in order.
who knew it could be so exciting?
you could not imagine the fight over who is making Grilled Cheese. and who's serving sandwiches. or burritos.
IF IT GOES WELL, I think maybe we'll do a dinner rotation for during the school year.
i kind of wonder if my kids are a little freakish in the way that they love structure.
they get stoked about going to the dentist. and they love scheduled responsibilities. they beg for chore charts. and harass me about scheduling things.
yup. odd kids. i prefer casual, free, easy. i guess once you get too much of one thing, you long for the other.
what's on Tuesday's schedule?
Dentist for 3 kids. (Paxton, Joy and Hope. 8:00, 8:30 and 9:00.) clean, drop off and pick up Liberty for summer school. clean. lunch, clean. Therapy for Pierce. clean. (maybe we'll go swimming) and then...BUNKO FOR ME! yay! a reward for surviving the craptastic day . WHOOHOO!
so hey I Hope you have a TERRIFIC TUESDAY!

I love the lunch schedule idea! I have many thoughts in my head about our summer schedule but don't have it in writing yet. My boys love it in writing, too.
Good idea about the lunches!
I'm the same way, love no schedule & doing whatever we want. But the kids want a little structure, hence the points chart! It's working great!!!! They know what's expected of them and the rewards they'll receive for doing them. I can also "threaten" no points if they are being brats. LOL They also don't even bother asking for things if they know they don't have enough points to do it. LOVE that!!! Can't stand when they ask & ask & ask & ask & ask!
Happy Tuesday :)
Love it! My kids love structure too, and who we kidding I THRIVE on it! Seriously has worked great to have our "summer schedule" so far. There seems to be little time left for any claims of "boredom" which is great in my book! Have fun tonight!!
We get so bored without a sched. This year is kind of hard as I have more drop-ins and don't always know who I will have each day. I've started doling out points and will soon have my cash in list ready. started a menu the other day will be done soon, need a napping sign for the door so babies don't get woken up. We are only half way out of the do what you want it's summer phase.
love the new pic! and i will definitely come take your quiz. ;) now i'm kinda nervous. lol. as for the lunch switch off thing, that sounds great!! i love that you are getting your kids to take over a meal! great idea! have fun at bunko!
Love the new pic! It is great the you are getting so organized for the summer. I have to say holy energy you must have...seriously yesterday I was so hot we made it to the post office and I said ok done time to go home!
Your FB quiz was tricky! I had to keep changing my answers because something would pop in my head that I had read on your blog. The last 2 were so dang hard! I kept changing my answer...
Sounds like a great schedule upcoming - kids do like schedules it keeps them going in my opinion - good luck at bunco lucky girl!!!
My kids like structure and "things" on the calendar that are theirs as well....some kids more than others, but I don't find it freakish. I think it gives them something different or special to look forward to...if going to the dentist is special?!
Love the lunch rotation idea. Do I think my almost 6 year old could handle that? hmmmmm... I have stopped asking what each of them want for lunch though. I'm done with being a short order. I choose it and make it, and they eat it if they don't want to be hungry. I'm such a mean mom! ;)
