can i offer you a cupcake?

it's a SPOOOOKY Halloween cupcake with a creepy ring on top.

oh my they were delicious looking at the store. Pierce insisted on buying them.

we, brought them home, and i set them aside for the after school snack .

BUT, Pierce had other ideas.

he got them down from the back of the counter. and alas they didn't survive the fall. the box stayed closed but darn it if that greasy frosting didn't just slide off. and the ring was buried in gooey frosting in the box.

and who wants a cupcake with no frosting and no fancy ring? not Pierce.

i offered him one, "NO that's yucky mama", (he'd look and pick another one) "that one!(pointing) NOOOOO not that one. it's yucky mama! that one."

until i finally said, "um, dude they are all like this. take it or leave it. "

he picked an apple.

UGH.

wonder what the other kids will think when presented with their delightful after school spoooky Halloween cupcakes?

they didn't mind at all!

~~

last night we carved a couple pumpkins.

I'd purchased one of the pumpkin carving kits with the carving tools and fancy designs. at one point i was carving my design with 2 kids on my lap supervising while i carefully sawed in and out along the dotted line.

the kids had so much fun carving pumpkins i felt bad for being cheap and went and bought more pumpkins for the kids to carve this afternoon.

can you tell which design i picked out? it fits the theme for this month. ;)

Beautiful wreaths! And the spider pumpkin turned out great. What's up with the frosting falling off like that? Strange...

Love the wreaths! I gave up on decorating for Halloween. So un-festive this year! I haven't even bought candy. But that's a self-preservation thing. Keeps me from eating it when I don't have it in my house! ;)
