noggins and chalkboards...Yellow?
what do yellow, noggin and chalkboards have in common?
all three came up in conversation with my kids last night.
somehow we got around to the word yellow, as a greeting. like this...
ring ring ring yellow?
I said, "who says Yellow to answer the phone ?"
overwhelming unanimous yelling.
YOU DO! MOM DOES!
why yes i am a dork.

later I'm washing Joy's hair the conversation goes like this
Me: give me your noggin.
Joy: MOM, why do you say noggin?
Me: it's another word for head. she thinks I'm a dork.

Around the dinner table last night. we are talking about parent/teacher conferences and moving seats in class, and Peyton needs to go get glasses before he can move.
Paxton chimes in saying he needs them too, then Joy. (everyone wants glasses i guess)
so i say,"do you have trouble seeing the chalkboard?"
Paxton answered, "I have a whiteboard"
Peyton 
chimed in then,"we all have whiteboards, chalkboards are for OLD PEOPLE!"
um, so now I'm an old person? and a dork!
(actually the hubs is an old person because he had chalk boards, but we got white boards at some point while i was in school. so there. i'm not really old yet.)

so, do you ever use the term noggin in reference to a head?
how do you answer the phone?
chalkboards or white boards? what did you have as a kid? and what do your kids have.

I don't think I say noggin. I'm certain that I could very easily be saying it and just not realize. lol
I let the answering machine pick up the phone. We get too many sales calls so we don't answer it at all-even the kids.
I must be really old because we used chalk boards all the way through school. Even in most of the college classes I took. Gaah!!

i use the term noggin, like "oh you bumped your noggin." when answering the phone it depends on who is calling. i love caller id. hate when it doesn't work, which is most of the time since our phone lines suck. i don't say yellow tho, my gramma does, sorry, lol! heehee. i had both, i'm only medium old. also my kids think i am a dork most of the time.

I am way OLD (40) They hadn't invented Whiteboards when I was in school - We had to bang erasers LOL
I answer the phone Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening and our Last name :)
I use noggin on occasion.
I say hello. Not very exciting, am I?
I had chalk boards until high school and then they "upgraded". My kids have the white boards in their classrooms but they also have the smart board, which is really cool.
HAHA! TOTALLY RAD!!! That's totally something 'us' kids would do!!!:)

Dont use the word noggin...we use brain container or melon
I very rarely answer the phone...I am really bad and I text a lot but when I do I think I just say HI???
I had the good ol chalkboard...except a couple of the "cool" teachers did have whiteboards in highschool.
oh and I forgot...we can't be old yet!!!

I had chalkboards. I even enjoyed clapping the erasers into giant dust clouds for my teachers in grade school! My kids have whiteboards.

And I never answer the phone, so don't know what to tell you there.
don't you love how your kids are always able to make you see yourself as a dorky old person? Mine do it all the time.
Like a child, apparently, because everyone thinks I ammy daughter (answering the phone). I can't tell you how often I have to say,"this IS the mom". It gets annoying. Do you think I sound like a child? We say noggin sometimes.
